| Always use Google Photos instead of Samsung Gallery? (without rooting) Posted: 13 Jun 2021 01:15 AM PDT I am using a Galaxy S7 with Google Photos. Google Photos is also set as my default gallery app, but the stock camera app insists on opening photos in the Samsung Gallery app anyway. There used to be an option to have a "Camera Shortcut" in Google Photos, that would place a Google Photos shortcut into the stock camera app, but that apparently was removed due to pressure from the manufacturers, so that solution doesn't work anymore. Instead I tried to use Open Camera, which respects the system setting for the default gallery app. But when I set the lock screen shortcut to Open Camera instead of the stock "Camera" app, I can't take photos anymore without unlocking the phone first -- which is undesirable in "dear stranger, could you please make a photo of us" situations. Is there any way without rooting to have a camera app on the Galaxy S7, that uses Google Photos for viewing the photos and works on the lockscreen? Remark on rooting. The Galaxy S7 requires essentially a full phone reset for rooting. That would be more undesirable than putting up with having to open Google Photos separately. | Can I install any custom rom in my phone?? Posted: 13 Jun 2021 12:45 AM PDT I recently flashed TWRP in my 8 year old phone and installed LOS 16 on it and it has been working great. LOS stopped supporting my phone years back so it does not have updates for newer LOS versions. So can i flash any other custom roms like RR, Havoc OS etc without having an official build for my phone. or is it necessary to have an official build?? My phone: Samsung galaxy grand 2 ms013g. | How do I make a specific part of a screen a touch deadzone? Posted: 12 Jun 2021 05:15 PM PDT After cracking my screen on the upper corner a month ago on my Samsung S10 , I've recently started experiencing ghost touches which is pretty annoying as I have to lock and unlock the screen to make it go away. After turning on the touch detection, I've identified the area which is acting weirdly, it's the upper area on the status bar that this responsible for these ghost touches. I cant use any overlay app like partial screen since the ghost touches are apparening on status bar. My one option is to hide the notch which will in turn will solve my problem but the issue is the samsung has removed the option to hide notch under One UI 3. So my only option is do something to make part of the screen as touch deadzone. Is there any way to do it? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 12 Jun 2021 02:17 PM PDT I have a work phone, along with an app that requires that apps GPS permission to be turned on, By that i mean If i try to disallow location services for just that specific app, then that app refuses to run. However, i am able to toggle OFF location services globally via the swipe down quick setting. My question is, if location services are toggled off via that swipe down toggle, will that do the trick, is it truly a global toggle for this device or can apps ignore that on/off toggle? Everytime I tried to boot it with the power button it's stuck in the Samsung logo on repeat. Has this happened to anyone? I've had issues with copying the images from my phone, to my pc. Right now I want to switch my 32gb sd card on my phone with a 128gb one and I'm having really annoying issues trying to transfer my images and videos from my 32gb sd to my pc so i can then transfer the images to my 128gb sd card. I can transfer around 4-5 files just fine, but when i try to transfer the whole DCIM folded on my desktop it either starts the transfer and shows an error message, or its just stuck on calculating the amount of time it need or something like that. This happens whether I have the sd card on my phone and connect the phone to my pc, or if I use an adapter and connect the sd card externally. I've had this issue for ages. I always end up transfering the images/videos slowly, grabbing 5 videos/images each time. It takes ages. I would do this this time too, but there are just too many. What is happening here? It cant just be a driver issue. I have an Xiaomi redmi note 8t and im using a kinston 32gb micro SD (U1) [link] [comments] |

I mean really broke, its black, i can feel the touch screen when i try to put my password to unlock my phone. But i cant even know if i put the password right or not. i'm desperate, i need to recover the files inside the phone and format the phone before sending it to technical assistance. I have a usb debug cable. So if the screen was working I could still use a mouse to interact... but that's not the case. I was thinking if theres some software on Windows 10 that could just mirror my screen with no effort and i could interact with my phone screen though this software. I think it's due to the game being developed in 2013 and basically never been updated for modern Android builds, so I was wondering, is there any trickery I can do to run this app in a sort of "compatibility mode", like you would run a Windows 98 software on Windows 10? | Having problem with gamegurdian. Posted: 12 Jun 2021 04:28 PM PDT my phone is s9+ and is already rooted with magisk. I downloaded gamegurdian to change the data values on other game. But my PUBG is keep detecting gamegurdian so i decided to put in in the virtual app called virtualxposed, but then when i put the gamegurdian in the virtual space I also gave superuser permission and even changed the gamegurian to virtual space mode and now the apps that are running outside the virtual space, the game gurdian cant detect it. is there a way to fix this? How frustrating. Ex. So if I've swiped down, into a folder, picked one app but then want to open another app from the same folder, I basically have to start again from the home screen. This means it doesn't have a kernel source, device tree on github, or a vendor tree. And I have taken the honor to try and build this device lineage. I first started with recoveries, which I successfully built with a prebuilt kernel. With this success, moved onto Lineage. But the problem is, I want to add the bear-minimum and start adding stuff after. So what is the bear-minimum needed in a device tree? [link] [comments] |
