I am trying to connect Gakaxy J7 ((2016), Android Version 8.1.0) with an audio interface (focusrite scarlett solo 3rd gen) connected via an usb hub powered by a powerbank. My phone only gets charged. There is no option to transfer data. Also I cant transfer data with this setup, when i connect 2 android phones to usb hub, because the both only get charged. | Contact photos really compressed after export and import. Posted: 22 Jun 2021 12:08 PM PDT So I moved to Graphene OS (basically stock AOSP) on my Pixel. I exported my contacts from the Google contacts app on a old phone (apparently the only way to retain contact photos in the .vcf) and imported the file into the stock contacts app on the Pixel. Posted: 22 Jun 2021 06:29 AM PDT Hi, a few hours ago my phone (Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge) restarted on its own and I assumed that it just needed to update so I waited a little bit until it decided to work. However when I go to restart it, it just stays stuck on the logo screen. It asked me to switch and download a custom OS and I waited to download it but it wasn't making any progress for 10 minutes so I decided to restart it again. Now if I go to restart it, it wont even give me the option to choose a new OS. I've also removed the battery to see if that fixed it, it did not. I let it run until the battery was 0, still didn't work. I'm not sure what else to do since every other site says "access x in the phone" when I can't right now. I kinda assume this has happened because I was full on memory (and possibly that new google update? pushed it to the edge) and I want to delete everything I can but since I can't get in I can't delete anything. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to fix this problem by myself before asking someone to fix it or getting a new phone entirely. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 22 Jun 2021 09:50 AM PDT Ok so no matter what phone I switch to for some reason google always thinks Im in the UK. I've manually changed it but it goes right back to UK search results. Certain apps on my phone that show the temperature convert it to celsius but my phone's temperature is in Fahrenheit. This becomes irritating when trying to find relevant search results on google. I did try a different browser and the results were correct but does anyone know why this is happening? | Coolpad legacy (boost mobile) won't turn on or stop buzzing Posted: 22 Jun 2021 09:34 AM PDT Last night my boyfriend shut off his Coolpad legacy phone to put it to charge and the phone started to buzz/ vibrate nonstop. Tried turning the phone back on and it won't turn on, the red light won't come on even if it's on the charger, tried holding the volume button and the power button to reset it but all it does is stop buzzing for like a second then it starts doing it again. It's been going for almost 12 hours now, idk how because it only had less than half charge. This phone has a non removable battery so can't take it out to see if that does anything. He really can't afford to lose everything he has on the phone. I tried just holding the buttons for a while but all it did was just stop for a second every like 10 seconds but I was afraid the phone would end up blowing up in my hands or something. Can someone please help figure out what is wrong and how to hopefully fix it. We are stressed out trying to figure something out and I would love to find a solution. [link] [comments] |
| Google Lens cutting off my data? Posted: 22 Jun 2021 09:33 AM PDT So a month or two ago I noticed that when I'd go to a restaurant and scan their QR code to get the menu, no results would pop up and my data service would die. Cycling through airplane mode would bring it back. I don't know if it was due to app updates or what, but that issue eventually went away. Fast forward to Sunday and I scanned another restaurant's QR code with Lens and this time my data slowed down to a crawl. On the way home Spotify would barely load songs and keep buffering. A speed test gave a .08 mps download rate. (I put my SIM in an old phone and had the same problem, so it wasn't the hardware.) This persisted through yesterday and last night I called AT&T tech support. They reset my data somehow on their end and that fixed it. Everything is just peachy now. Could Google Lens be the culprit? I use Shelter which leverages the "Work Profile" feature of Android to provide an isolated space. In that isolated space I have my browsers and a VPN. Is there a way to automatically open links from apps in my main profile in my browser in the work profile? I can manually copy the link and open it in the browser but it's tedious. I already tried apps like "Open Links With" but it didn't work. Example current behavior: Someone sends me a link to a website over a messenger (which is installed in my main profile) I click on it and it opens in the browser in my main profile. Thanks! | Help Accessing Data on Screen Locked P20 Posted: 22 Jun 2021 06:40 AM PDT Hi - wondering if anyone out there can think of a solutions to this... So, my wife cracked her phone screen (Huawai P20) and bought a cheap phone to use short term while we worked out a replacement (Alcatel 1). When setting up the temporary phone, not all of the data from her P20 was install/copied, mainly because there's not enough storage space to hold it all. Some of the data left on the P20 is really important (downloaded documents/files and pevious whatsapp history), so I was going to hook it up to a PC and grab all the data from it, but the biggest problem is she can't remember the unlock pattern. I know developer mode/USB debugging is not turned on, so I can't even get a PC/ADB to recognise it, plus I've had to connect it to a mouse and monitor (via HDMI/USB adapter) to even view/control the unlock screen. I'm pretty sure that without the pattern we have little or no options, but was wondering if anyone knew the answers to the following:

| Copy SMS Pics to Thumbdrive with OTG Posted: 22 Jun 2021 04:00 AM PDT I drive stretched limousines for weddings and such. The display screens in the limo can play pics from a usb thumb drive. What I am trying to do is to is to get someone at the ceremony to text me pics of the ceremony (easy part). Then using a otg cable, I want to copy the pics over to a thumbdrive. If they are on the thumbdrive, I can put that in the limo and have the pics displayed in a slide show while I am driving them to the reception location. The limo does not have wifi or internet. I also do not carry a laptop with me. I really want to be able to do this using only the phone. I have been experimenting with the process. I have a samsung Note 9 with a sd card installed. I am using a OTG cable with a 32gb card. On most file managers, I cant see the thumb drive, only my sd card. I do see the 2nd usb with es file explorer. Any idea what directory the sms pics goto using the stock android sms app? If I know where the pic resides, I maybe able to copy it that way.
