Need help to install a custom launcher on a locked streaming device

So I had this old android tv stick lying around which has this hideous user interface, basically the ISP who made this wanted to push their own content first, I wanted to change the default launcher to something else, preferably the stock one, but any with no ads would do.

I started with just trying to sideload the apk of multiple launchers, all of which did not get installed, then I tried to do it using adblink, but still I am getting an error, and the install fails again. I have attached a screenshot of the error which I am receiving.

I am assuming that the ISP has locked out the installation of any other launcher other than their own. It would be of great help if anyone can help me out to install any other launcher, other than the default one.

It's an Airtel Xstream Stick (not box) if anyone's wondering.
    Android Version: 8.0.0

New Sony TV. Checking permissions and found this. What's Shell app and why does it have Special Permissions allowed out of the box by default? It's using the default android app icon and thought it was sketchy...any info appreciated.

If you have the new Chromecast with Google TV: are the thumbnails for movies and shows regularly in another language?

    Posted: 22 May 2021 02:40 PM PDT

I live in Canada and I speak English.

I got a Chromecast with Google TV right when they were first released. Since the beginning, it's pretty common for the thumbnails on the main screen to be in another language.

    Here's an example.

I've seen a lot of what looks like Spanish and German. It's not only 1 language.

I reached out to Google TV support, which wasn't helpful. They told me to use my remote and say "send feedback" to the Google Assistant. I have sent feedback nearly every day for half a year on dozens of shows and movies. There's 0 evidence that it's going anywhere or that anyone cares.

    Does this happen to others?

Is there a better IR alternative out there?

On Shield in YouTube app, if the video is simply paused, is there a way to activate the screensaver eventually?

Problem with YouTube and Google App Store on 43 Inch Android smart TV TCL43p715

    Posted: 22 May 2021 03:00 PM PDT

Hi, I am facing a strange issue with TCL43p715 (TCL 43 Inch Android smart TV). When I try to access YouTube it works only approx. 5 out of 10 attempts which is so annoying. Specifically for example, when YouTube is working fine and I switch off the TV after watching; Immediately after restarting the TV, YouTube wont open up and wont load any content.

What can be the probable cause of this problem? YouTube does not open up and does not load any content. App store also does not shows any icons loading, mostly are grayed icons without app logos being loaded.

I think there is some problem that is causing all google apps apps and app store not to load or function on smart tv. Anyone else who is facing this issue or what can be the solution?
