Images corrupting on Samsung Galaxy A71 5G UW Posted: 07 Mar 2021 04:42 PM PST Just upgraded to the above mentioned device. Each time I take a picture with the phone's camera, the image corrupts moments later and I get the grey thumbnail with exclamation point. It was working fine the other day when I got it, and I've changed no settings. I'm also not using an SD card at all, but all of the advice I've found seems to center around that... I could use some help. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Would keyboard editing shortcuts work in Google Docs on a Bluetooth keyboard, from an android phone? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 11:30 AM PST Please feel free to suggest other subreddits or communities if there is another place that would be more appropriate to ask. I have tried several Google searches, skimmed Google Docs forums, and read many reviews for different Bluetooth keyboards, and as of yet cannot find this question answered anywhere. As of recently, I use Google Docs extensively enough that I need to be able to type on a full keyboard for productivity. I do have a laptop, but it is quite large and heavy, and not portable enough for my purposes. Up until this point, I have been using it on my phone, a Samsung S10E with Android 11. I discovered a few days ago that you can purchase a Bluetooth keyboard to connect to your phone! So my question is: do keyboard shortcuts work with Google Docs on an Android phone? Such as: cut/copy/paste with ctrl-x/c/v, move cursor with ctrl-arrows, highlight with shift-arrows, etc? If they do work, then I will buy a Bluetooth keyboard, which seems to be the cheapest and most portable option! However, if they do not, then I think I will have to start looking at a small laptop instead. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2021 12:13 PM PST Hi, I own an OnePlus 7 Pro and today I checked the battery usage and an app exactly called "-5" was draining some battery. I checked the background/foreground usage and they were all 0 mins used. Here are some pictures for further clearance: https://i.imgur.com/eTKa3Bj.jpg https://i.imgur.com/yDfPf1B.jpg Does anyone know why and how this is happening? [link] [comments] |
Xbox One S controller mapping not working in Android 10 Posted: 07 Mar 2021 01:32 PM PST I've known this was an issue over the past few years but I haven't used a controller on android that much in that time to have to deal with it. Now my GF has got a tablet for light gaming and other stuff and she's noticing issues. Everything seems to be kosher on big games like Fortnite and Minecraft, but on others like Rayman Adventures and a few racing games she tried most of the buttons don't work, left/right will be reversed, and just general weirdness happens. From much googling I've found 2 things that supposedly fixed this already: 1 - Android Pie adds controller mapping for the Xbox One S wireless controller 2 - Updating the controller firmware via Xbox or PC She's running a Galaxy tab s6, which runs on Android 10 so I'd assume it had whatever update 9 had. And the controller firmware is already on the latest version. Is there a fix for this or is it just a known issue that might or might not get fixed in the future? [link] [comments] |
Control Phone through Computer, pls help Posted: 07 Mar 2021 04:38 PM PST Just dropped my Pixel 5 and now the screen isn't really working, the phone itself seems to be working fine, the only problem is the screen, so does anybody know if there is a way for me to control my phone through my computer by cable or something? Edit: If somebody knows how I can unlock my phone through my computer also lmk pls (I have the password) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2021 04:21 PM PST My LG wing is barely 3 months old, well taken care of, never dropped, has a case on it. As of yesterday, my 1st display is flickering a green screen. The touch response is there but I can't see anything. 2nd display works just fine. Is my phone defective? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Mar 2021 07:56 PM PST I've noticed that a bunch of apps start pushing/pulling data whenever there's a network change. This is obviously not ideal even you're connecting to an untrusted network that you're about to pipe through a VPN. Is there a way to ensure no network traffic is sent or received after connecting to an open network until after you've connected to your VPN? I'm not exactly sure how this would be implemented other than maybe an outgoing firewall with just your VPN provider's server(s) on the allow list, deny everything else. I looked into this with Netguard but since Netguard itself is a VPN you can't run them at the same time... It looks like you can use Netguard's SOCKS proxy support to get connected to Nord, but not sure yet how that works, looking into it... [link] [comments] |
Bluetooth crackling in car only? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 07:52 PM PST I have a new S21 Ultra. Loving the phone, but noticing a weird issue that I have no clue how to fix. The Bluetooth quality in my car sucks. It seems like on treble notes, or rock music, it's really crackly. Bass comes through fine.. Any other Bluetooth device I connect to doesn't do this. Just in my car. My girlfriends iPhone connected to my car plays just fine with no crackling so it's not my speakers... Any reason for this? Any fix? TIA. [link] [comments] |
How many characters can you put into a text replacement? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 06:36 PM PST I'm an iPhone user and I am trying to help a friend that uses Android. Is there a limit on the number of charters when using "text replacement" (personal text shortcuts ie: ily = I love you) We would like 25 of more characters. I want to know if it will work before I suggest it. [link] [comments] |
Technical details for android hotspot Posted: 07 Mar 2021 06:15 PM PST Does anyone know where I can find details on how the hotspot feature works on Android 11/Galaxy Note 10 specifically. Trying to determine if files & traffic are accessible from the phone through the hotspot to another android device or PC without using direct share or a 3rd party app. Need to have it non accessible and only transmit a firmware update file through the hot spot internet, otherwise I'll have to get a dedicated hotspot device. Googling just brings up the simple how to enable hot spots or how to secure passwords. [link] [comments] |

Larger SD Card Slower? Is this a thing? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 05:56 PM PST Hey guys, I recently got myself a present - a 512gb SD card for my phone so I can store nearly all my music on it. Yay! The first thing I did was test it, using F3. I was able to successfully read and write the entire space, and the read and write speed was good (I can't remember exactly what it was now, I think my write was ~32Mb/s and read was over 100). Anyway, I have been having issues with my gallery app (Simple Gallery) and music app (Poweramp) seemingly having issues loading the data. Gallery takes a long time to open now, and then a bit more time to load the pictures up. Poweramp mostly works fine but occasionally takes a second or two to load the track info (such as if I quit the app while playing a song, I can start playback and hear the song but it takes a second to load the title, artwork, etc). The weird thing is, on my previous 128gb SD card I did not have this issue. I ran a read/write test on that one as well, and the performance was even worse, so I know this is not the issue. Is it simply because the 512gb SD card is bigger, that under certain use cases it is slower to get the data and display it? Any insight is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
How to Turn Off Screen Wake for Notifications on Note 10+? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 05:25 PM PST Ever since upgrading to Android 11, when I receive a text message, the screen wakes instead of doing the edge lighting like it used to. How do I revert it back to the old way? [link] [comments] |
Problems when transferring files from SD to Internal Storage. Posted: 07 Mar 2021 05:20 PM PST My phone had a bunch of pictures and mp3 files on it's SD card. It became completely full in storage about a week ago, and was extremely slow and hard to use. So I mistakenly tried to transfer files from my SD card onto my internal storage, which was already full. When it completed they were not on my SD card or my Internal storage. I tried running recovery software on both the phone and the sd card but nothing seemed to work. Did they just disappear? Or are they hidden. Any help is appreciated. Posted: 07 Mar 2021 11:19 AM PST Imagine this: You're browsing the internet on your phone, held sideways ("landscape") because some websites (like old Reddit) work better that way. Your phone starts to ring, it's your mother. You know this because you hear the ringtone you assigned to her number. You flip your phone right-side-up again, waiting for the green "Answer" button to swoop down. The phone continues to ring. You swipe down, bringing up the quick-menu. The Answer button still hasn't come up. The phone continues to ring. And then goes to voicemail. '1 Missed Call", your phone finally says. I have a Moto G6 Play that is running Android Version 9, according to my phone's settings. The only three physical buttons, Power, Volume Up, and Volume Down, all mute the ringer of incoming calls instead of picking up. I didn't think it was a problem at first, but I'm coming to quickly realize the value of having an always-pushable button there to answer calls if the screen is slow or laggy for whatever reason. Chrome sucking battery life? S20+5G Posted: 07 Mar 2021 04:56 PM PST Chrome has sucked over 50% of my battery each day for the past week, despite me disabling it, not allowing background usage, and optimizing battery usage. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |

X at Bottom of Screen when Moving Picture in Picture Posted: 07 Mar 2021 09:02 AM PST Hi all! Ever since I updated to Android 10 (Samsung note 10+), I can no longer move picture in picture all over my screen- any attempt to move it up results in a X at the bottom of the screen and it automatically removes mini picture- previous versions of Android I could move the thing anywhere I wanted to. I've searched and can't find any resolution or answer - this happens to me in all apps, maps, prime video, Netflix, etc.. anyone know how to disable?! I've got a screen recording but can't add it to this post. TIA (very much!) [link] [comments] |
Can you prjoritize Messenger bubbles over videos? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 10:25 AM PST I am having a lot of trouble with the most recent update to the Messenger app, specifically the Bubbles feature. Previously, if a message came in while I was watching Netflix (something I am frequently using it for while gaming), the message bubble would stay on screen, allowing me to recognize and respond to it as soon as it was noticed. Now, the bubble floats off the side of the screen, barely showing a sliver, which is causing me to miss important messages that I used to be able to catch easily. Is there a way to downgrade back to the older version of the app or allow the bubbles priority over other apps, so that they stay on screen instead of floating off? I'd even take automatically opening the bubble once a message is received. [link] [comments] |
How to stop my screen from rotating while rotation lock is on? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 04:16 PM PST To clarify, with it in portrait mode I can turn rotation lock on, hold my phone upside down, and then everything will just be upside down, but if its landscape mode, it will all flip so it's right-side-up again, which is what I don't want it to do. Is it possible to make it not flip like that so I can hold my phone upside down in landscape mode? I have a galaxy a50 if that matters [link] [comments] |

How do I clean hidden cache on android? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 12:00 PM PST Im having issues with app which stopped working right so I tried deleting it, rebooting my phone and reinstalling it but it still gives me the same error. I downloaded CCleaner and its telling me i have 800 mb of hidden cache but in order to delete it I have to buy premium service. I dont need CCleaner for anything else so Im trying to find out if this is something I can do myself for free? Edit: the problem is with the app Zillow not working on wifi. It works on cellular data but it doesnt work on wifi, even after deleting and reinstalling it and clearing the phone cache [link] [comments] |
Reliable wireless charging powerbank for Pokémon Go? Posted: 07 Mar 2021 09:47 AM PST I've seen on Amazon that there's magnetic power banks but reviews are rather mixed. I'm looking for a small power bank to attach to my Pixel 5 for Pokémon Go sessions. What's a decently small power bank that's wireless and won't be larger than the phone itself? (Don't care if it's only 5000 mAh or smaller, it's meant to maintain the battery percentage instead of actually charging my phone) [link] [comments] |
How to stop bluetooth devices timing out due to inactivity Posted: 07 Mar 2021 07:55 AM PST I'm on a Samsung s20 fe and using a Bluetooth Ipega controller to play xbox game pass, I just got to the end of a lengthy cutscene in yakuza 0 and the controller timed out due to inacvity, its not particularly helpful for that to keep happening because when it disconnects you get booted out of the stream, is it possible to change this setting so it doesn't automatically disconnect? The Bluetooth on my phone stays on and I'm the most recent android build. [link] [comments] |
