You have multiple text messages on both devices. Some with the same contacts, so conversations aren't complete. | not quite full screen gestures? Posted: 10 Mar 2021 12:14 PM PST I'm running Android 12 & One UI 3.1 on a Galaxy S20 5G. I'm using the full screen gestures and I quite like them so far (recent upgrade from s7) and I've really only got one issue, which is that swipe to go back is activated down the whole edge of the screen. Call me old fashioned, but I still like the functionality of swiping from the edge to access the extra panes instead of the hamburger menu in the corner. Is there any way to achieve both gestures and panels (like limiting the gestures to say the bottom half of the screen) I've tried some third party gesture navigation, but I've had issues with that - i wasnt able to guide the 3 button navbar even through ADB, I liked them less than stock in general, and I'm not 100% on using a 3rd party app for navigation, although I might be open to it if there's a solution that is similar to stock gestures. thanks for any help :) [link] [comments] |

We're still trying to get her adapted to it, and she's struggling with the adaptation to the qwerty keyboard to write text messages. | Posted: 10 Mar 2021 10:13 AM PST Hello there, yesterday, I got a bit drunk and tried to unlock my phone by entering wrong passwords a few times consecutively. As a result, first, my phone got me waiting for 30 seconds, and then again for another 30 seconds on each attempt. However, the catch is, now, it does NOT accept the CORRECT password either. (Yes, really, the correct password, and no, I haven't changed it at any time.) I mean, I thought that this could be a security measure against a brute force attack, but why doesn't it just increase the waiting time instead, as iPhone does? Has anyone else experienced something similar? Does this "not accepting the correct password" thing stop after waiting for a certain amount of time (even tho it is not even mentioned on the lock screen)? What the hell do I do? Some additional info: I have MIUI 12 and Android 11. My phone is not rooted. I had disabled every app related with Xiaomi and Mi account by using ADB in the past since I see all that stuff as bloatware. Now, the USB debugging is off and the settings screen is not available to turn it on, since the lock screen is blocking the way in. Hence, I can't use my non-existent Mi account credentials to verify that I am actually who I am, and can't also use ADB (I think?) Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
| Problem with youTube screen timeout Posted: 10 Mar 2021 10:02 AM PST I fall asleep watching or listening to youtube videos on my Galaxy S10+ and since one of the latest updates, once the video has finished playing, the screen will no longer timeout and will remain on until I wake up, wasting a lot of battery. As far as I remember, until recently this wasn't an issue and the screen would timeout after the video was done. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how I would go about fixing it? | Posted: 10 Mar 2021 06:07 AM PST I've got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro. It's not rooted and it has a locked bootloader. I don't know if you are familiar with MIUI and if it's a regular android function, MIUI has second space functionality. I've got a numeric pin password for both spaces (they're different). Recently, a strange bug happened and I cannot log into first space anymore. I'm confident I type the correct pin for first space but it's always wrong for the phone. I kept the phone always on and I've been using only second space, no problem. But this morning phone has self rebooted. I've typed first space pin (required after reboot) and I'm locked out for about 23 hours. I'm afraid I'll not able to use phone anymore. What can I do? I only care about some important files I have in second space. Recovering them would be good for me, even if I can't use phone anymore (I have another one) [link] [comments] |

My model is a Galaxy J3 Prime, had it for years, but out of nowhere it has been acting up so bad it's practically unusable. First I get "com.handmark.metro.launcher has stopped" and then I can't even screenshot because I get "couldn't take screenshot due to privacy policy", I can't save anything because it goes to "download pending" on Chrome or just doesn't save at all, certain apps keep crashing for no reason even after force stopping, and when I turn it off/reset it the system apps just reset and I have to redo all the Display settings back to my preferences. When I'm on YouTube it suddenly tells me I have to sign out and log back in and I can't do anything, try doing so and it's the same error. I can't even update apps, apparently it just removes the updates themselves entirely, there are just so many issues it's unbearable. When I'm using Chrome any page I was on before just gets erased for the MetroPCS homepage, and it happens when I go to another app for even 3 seconds. I got Nova Launcher, did nothing, I cleared cache on certain apps and it worked just for it all to break again, made sure the phone was up to date, reset it several times, turned it off for hours, removed the battery and put it back in, even removed the accounts in the phone, now I can't even do that! All just "sync errors", yet when I try to fix it the screen freezes or I get "System UI has stopped". In Display I can't change the fonts, saying the phone doesn't support said font and suggests I uninstall them, which I'm not doing. There's probably WAY more problems I've come across, but holy hell this is aggravating. It's more discouraging literally no one is talking about this online, as if I'm the only one with this issue. So what do I do? I'm not trying to factory reset, because I have WAY too much important stuff in here and it won't let me back any of it up, so I've come here to you all, the community. Please send help, because this is practically killing my phone at this point, all the solutions I've had before aren't working anymore. [link] [comments] |

Some of them have appearance options so that I can make them look nice and match my home screen theme. Others don't let you change them at all, so to use them I'd have to be ok with my home screen looking like a website from the '90s (I'm not). Is there any way to reskin widgets that don't have options for appearance built-in? Or is there a way to use some other widget that can get data from all the other widgets, that does have plenty of appearance options? Maybe Tasker or Join could do something like this? | No Access to the internet on profile Posted: 10 Mar 2021 04:19 AM PST I don't have internet access on one of the profiles on my Oneplus 7T pro. I can receive and make calls but, neither w-lan nor mobile internet works. That however is only the case on one of the profiles, the rest work just fine. I sometimes receive notifications, so I suspect I might have a very slow connection. Has anyone ever encountered this, do you know how to solve it? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
