If I tap on it - it just disappears, nothing more is happening, and it always reappears after a few dozens of minutes and it's not possible to disable Android Setup notifications. | Help with xiami redmi note 8 pro Posted: 20 Mar 2021 04:05 AM PDT Yesterday i was looking for roms online, some ads popped up but obviously i didnt install anything. Some time later i get this volume button issue were it stops working and automatically decreases volume, and somehow makes the down botton super sensitive so that even if i slightly touch it it goes down. I turn it off and go to bed. This morning i get the fastboot screen without installling anything. Someone maybe tried to access my files via remote? | Pixel 4a, various apps unreliable now. Posted: 20 Mar 2021 09:03 AM PDT The reddit app often won't load stuff. The YouTube app constantly won't find my TV. The Facebook app sometimes doesn't scroll properly. The remote desktop app is absolutely useless and freezes almost every use. They all worked fine on a 4 year old phone, but all these issues are now present on a brand new pixel 4a with upto date Android. [link] [comments] |

| Recovering data from a locked Samsung Note 8. Posted: 20 Mar 2021 10:05 AM PDT I have PIN locked Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I haven't used it in a while so I forgot the PIN. It has some photos and videos that I want to recover, so I am seeking a way to unlock it without losing data, or at least recover my photos. I don't have USB debugging enabled so those methods don't really work. I also don't have a Samsung account that is connected to that phone. Is there ANY other way to unlock the phone? Shazam doesn't work. when i press the button to shazam it just immediately tells me it couldn't find anything. doesn't even take any time to search just immediately fails. which makes me think it might be something with the phone itself? | Posted: 20 Mar 2021 09:23 AM PDT I own a device having A/B partitions (OnePlus 7T). Currently on android 10. When I installed android 11 I noticed it has installed it on slot B. So now I wonder if I can boot back into android 10 if I change the active slot back to A through fastboot command ( fastboot set active a ). What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 20 Mar 2021 09:11 AM PDT Hi guys, I have a 27 inch touchscreen monitor, I'm wondering if it would be possible to install a launcher and other apps on a Chromecast TV and use it like a big tablet on the wall? I see there are ways to install other apps on the Chromecast and it looks pretty snappy, also the touchscreen is just usb and works out the box on Linux, even on the install screen so... I have an older nexus 6, which i bought unlocked/refurbished because I got tired of all the vendor-forced installed "helpful" stuff that my phone service carrier had on their phones. The phone has been doing exactly what I need beautifully until yesterday, when I noticed that some of my apps had been uninstalled/disappeared; random list of apps, like Firefox, amazon, bandcamp, keepass, and perhaps a handful of others I haven't noticed yet. I reinstalled the apps without any issue. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it because the OS is so old and has some type of bug? Noone else has access to my phone, I keep it locked, last reboot was a couple of days ago, I use F-Droid whenever possible for any apps I need, including LibreAV for some basic security scanning. The problem I face is random inputs as passwords tries as I jog holding my phone. Options I find are security related and offer to switch wake/lock protection between passwords, pins and so on. But when I try actions requiring more than 1 it sometimes work, sometimes doesn't. I have to turn off the device and turn it back on again for it to work, but most of the times it doesn't.
