    After upgrading to Kodi 19.0 Matrix, I had no sound and my video's would crash about 5 - 10 seconds in, or they would stutter badly.

    I found that Inputstream.Adaptive in my add-ons was not enabled. I enabled it, and it's all working fine again now.

    My TV is a Sony KD-55XE9005 in the U.K.

    I'm not sure if this will affect everyone, but I thought I would post it, in case anyone else has the same problem. I've also posted this on XDA forums

    Guide for removing the ad-launcher on android tv

    Disable auto updates on google play store (user icon -> settings -> auto update)

    Go to settings -> apps and reset "Android TV Home" to factory settings.

    Get the apk of android tv home 2.3.1 (last version without ads, 3.0.10 is with ads) and install it as an update

    Edit: there seems to have been some confusion: You DO NOT RESET YOUR ANDROID TV. The only thing you reset is the APP "Android TV Home" This guide works for devices that already have ads

    Bedtime reminder notification

    I'm looking for a solution for missing bed time when playing games or watching movies on Shield TV.

    Is there an alarm sort of app with notification that doesn't take up the whole screen and can be easily dismissed? Just enough to make glued eyes aware without being too annoying?

    Version 9 and Google Home, Philips 4K

    It doesn't seem like anyone else is having this issue but ever since my Philips Android 4K TV updated to the new Version 9 software that changed the homepage my Google Home no longer recognizes it. I used to be able to cast to it and turn it off/on with my Home but now it says it's unrecognized.

    I've removed the device from the home menu and it won't re-add. I've tried disabling the casting software and reinstalling it, that hasn't worked either. Is there any way to force my TV into some type of pairing mode?

    It's quite frustrating, I've gotten so used to not using a remote.

    TCL 4 Series Android Smart TV Amazon Prime Video black screen.

    Prime Video is showing up a black screen when I try to play anything. I can hear the sound but no picture. I am having trouble deleting the app to reinstall. It isn't showing up in the play store and in settings there is no option to delete Prime Video, only an option to disable. Any other app that is on my tv can be uninstalled. I've logged out and back in, disabled, turned the tv off and on. Any tips on how to either fix the black screen issue or uninstall and reinstall? Thanks!

    Live sports recording skip ahead glitch?

    Any time I record a basketball game (or pause a game live in progress) I run into a 'glitch' at the end of the game.

    Once I reach the originally scheduled end time, I can no longer skip ahead. It records the extra time needed, but it won't let me skip ahead so I have to watch the rest live meaning all the dead time, commercials, etc. 😴 In fact, if I do skip ahead it actually takes me back to the original end time & I have to watch the extra time again and at love speed.

    I contacted yttv support with no luck. Anyone else solve this?

    PS primarily watching on my Chromecast with Google TV yttv app.

    HBO Max "Oops Something Went Wrong"

    Hey there,

    My Chromecast with Google TV just arrived and I tried to set it up, but HBO Max keeps saying that something went wrong. I have a VPN on my router and have an American Google account, so I don't believe that's the problem. I didn't have to do some weird trick to install the HBO Max app, I could do that through the Play Store. But now I can't open the app without the message: Oops Something Went Wrong. Did anyone else have this problem or have an idea how to fix this? I bought the Chromecast especially for using it with HBO Max, so I'm kind of bumped out that it doesn't work.

    Edit: I got it! As someone commented, the VPN on the router could be the problem and it was. Everyone that commented, thanks for your time and helpfulness.

    TCL C815 Sound Output

    My sound outputs both through the optical digital out to my receiver and through the built in speakers.

    Is there a way for the sound to just output through the SPDIF connection (set to PCM) and not the built in speakers?

    At the moment I have the TV volume set to 0 and control the volume through the receiver controls. I would like to just control the volume through the TV controls. but not have sound coming out the TV speakers.

    Is there a way to determine the time a TV running Androidtv 9 has been turned on last (or how long it has been running)?

    Is there an app or any other way (maybe looking at some logs) to achieve that?

    Android Ambilight Application screen capture mode slow after update?

    just for those who use the android ambilight application, I have a shield and it looks like the app recently got updated. however the screen capture mode is capturing the screen very slowly and can't keep up with the changing colors on my screen. anyone else with this issue? thanks

    My android tv turned into a google tv launcher and disappeared after turning it on?

    Hey guys i just got a 4k android tv last week. So yesterday i turned my tv on and the homepage looked exactly like the upcoming update for the android tv which has a google tv type look. I was so hyped but i had no idea how it updated to that launcher but i didn't really care so i just watched netflix and some youtube. But after i turned the tv off and then on it turned back into regular android tv so i was super confused and i checked if there was an update available but there wasn't... I really loved that new look though so if anybody knows what happend and how i can get it back please let me know!
