Thinking of buying a tcl andoid tv (p717) but i want to see if my vpn provider app can be directly downloaded on the tv! i.e. if the tv has full play store access.. I basically want a TV that can have my vpn installed on it for accessing netflix and internet browser directly (not through a pc or smartphone use) and of course being able to change servers while on it for switching content. Did anybody follow through this procedure to advise me or even any other recommendations would also be much appreciated! Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 27 Feb 2021 01:31 AM PST There seems to be a bug with the BBC iPlayer Android TV app, on the Chromecast with Google TV, caused by some kind of conflict when granting accessibility access to other apps which use the remote. BBC iPlayer will freeze upon opening and is unresponsive when pressing navigation buttons on the remote. The app will then crash and close, after a few button presses. The issue has arisen for me personally when I installed the Dashboard app. I uninstalled the Dashboard app, and BBC iPlayer works fine again. Others on Twitter have noted that the Button Mapper app causes the same issue. But yet when I go to watch it, it sends me to Prime Video and CBS All Access is not in the options listed to watch it. Sorry for the oblique camera angles. | What's a good cast receiver for non-chromecast devices? Posted: 27 Feb 2021 07:35 AM PST I'm using a cheap android tv box that don't have a built-in chromecast. I needed to install some cast recievers to be able to cast. I have used AirScreen and CastReceiver both from playstore but the experience sucks. AirScreen requires monthly/yearly subscription or ad rewards to be able to use advanced settings which i really need and i hate always watching an ad for that. CastReciever is good but from apps that don't have custom casting UI, it uses its own media player and makes controls in the phone really messy. | Mi box S losing connection sometimes, but I have high and consistent internet speed Posted: 27 Feb 2021 04:58 AM PST I have 5ghz and the internet speed on the tv is 300mb+, the internet doesn't crash on the other computers and tv boxes at home (which are even further from the one that is crushing), what to do ? (I will point out that the TV internrt crushes even when it is the only thing that is turned on). I'm connected via wifi but the tvbox is really close an as I said it gets a lot of speed, it's just losing connection for some reason. [link] [comments] | ||

| Weird sudden audio cutting out every ten seconds Posted: 26 Feb 2021 10:03 PM PST Heyyy so I've got a pendoo box (I can't remember what version of androids on it) it was a wee bit sluggish so I factory reset it last week and reinstalled kodi (v 19 with the oath add on) prime video, Netflix, and ipvanish. It initially was great and running better than ever until yesterday and suddenly the audio is cutting out every ten seconds or so. I can see the audio source flashing on and off on my amp every time it occurs. It's hooked up via hdmi 1 on our Sony Bravia and has an ethernet internet connection. I just reset it again in the event it was just a bug or something but to no avail. I know this is a budget box but its bizarre how it suddenly shit the bed like this and I'm coming up empty handed via Google. I'd REALLY appreciate any help you have to resolve this. I tried this one (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B8DLN41), but it wasn't backlist (not a big deal), but also couldn't control TV volume as far as I could tell, and I am not sure if I could add more remotes to the same NVIDIA Shield. My experience so far has been pretty good. Until it randomly rebooted and won't get out of a boot loop. Id see the splash screen (Mi logo 'n stuff), and after that the screen turns into a random color aaaand reboots again. It sometimes gets to the home screen, but upon launching any app it reboots yet again. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks. EDIT: I have recently updated via official OTA. That might be the cause. Any idea on how to factory reset it? YET ANOTHER EDIT: Seems like the issue was overheating. I let it cool for a minute or two and it works perfectly now. [link] [comments] |
