I bought a new one, logged in to Google Authenticator and it is empty. There is no list of services and codes. I cannot get new ones without logging in with 2FA. The phone is long out of service, but we have the power and usb cables and it works except for the phone service which is not restorable. Is there a way to get the photos off using the USB cable? | Music players in general under Android 11 Posted: 27 Feb 2021 01:10 PM PST I realized this week that all of the music players are pretty much identical under Android 11, is this to be expected under whatever development also removed lockscreen music info? It seems like the API now only offers a 256px album image with a list of songs and times, with the only design decision for the developer being whether they display an artist's albums vertically or horizontally. It's possible that blackplayer, vinyl, phonograph, music player, and a couple few more I forget are all basic crap and I'm not looking in the right place, but the similarities advice tell me something more structural going on. I'm not necessarily looking for app recommendations so much as commiseration, just a hint whether I should keep looking or give up. [link] [comments] |
| Due to Android 11, Samsung Secure Folder cannot access it's android/data whatsoever. Posted: 27 Feb 2021 01:00 PM PST I've tried multiple file managing apps that CAN access android/data outside of the secure folder but when I try to use them inside the folder they can't be granted the permission as in the permission doesn't show up or I get hit with this. Is there any fix to this or would the only option be to move apps where I manage their data out of it? The Samsung My Files app isn't able to manage the android/data folder as well. The sound comes once or twice a minute (only when the phone is unlocked), and I have never heard the sound before. I have tried closing all apps and restarting my phone. | HELP! samsung s10 plus factory reset not working due to software update Posted: 27 Feb 2021 08:26 AM PST Hello, noob here. I made dumb mistakes and I need help rectifying the situation. The only option is resetting the phone because I cannot for the life of me remember my password because I cannot access the emails, number in my phone... I cannot turn off my phone because it needs to unlock after the update. I cannot remember the password and code to unlock. I tried pressing the up, down volume and b button (below) and power button simultaneously and a weird reboot options show up with incorrect grammar "DO NOT ***REBOOT FINISH IT***" is what it stated at the bottom as it started uploading 55 files. I turned it off throughout the process. Anyways, hacked or not, I need to factory reset the phone. How do I go about doing that? [link] [comments] |

| Upgrading from Lineage to a Newer ROM and Retaining Minimal Backup? Posted: 27 Feb 2021 06:39 AM PST Hi everyone, In the past, I used to upgrade my device ROM often, and I didn't mind setuping my phone afterwards. I liked the idea of starting "Fresh" where there's no previous cache or files being used (so no garbage being carried to slow down the new ROM). Sadly, I don't have much time lately (new kid can do that :-)), but I do want to upgrade my Lineage rom into a new one (It's a new Android version, not just a new build int he same Android version like nightly). Is there a way to upgrade Lineage (or for that matter, and other rom) while retaining minimal information like application settings, Launcher settings and even some OS settings? I'm aware that doing that between new android version is much harder, specifically system settings as they tend to change. Something smart that won't just copy the whole data folder, but only store the important information - so nothing from old ROMS will get carried that I don't need in the new one. Thanks!
