[Contest] First competition of 2021, let's get creative again! Posted: 07 Jan 2021 08:25 AM PST Yes, this contest is going to be a little bit shorter, but we needed to give the 'Best of 2020' post a few days of attention. It should be a fair compromise. Every year Pantone announces their color of the year. And for a few years we've used those colors as a theme of our monthly contests in January, this time is no different! https://www.pantone.com/color-of-the-year-2021 As you can see, for 2021 they've come up with two colors, so that's what we're going to use as well. For this contest, we want you to make setups with just those two colors: #F5DF4D and #939597. You may add white and black, but only for details, not for major elements. These rules apply specifically to this month's contest:
General contest rules:
The winner will be announced on February 1st, 2021. Winning submission will be displayed in the subreddit banner for the duration of the next contest. It will also be added to our Hall of Fame. [link] [comments] | ||

[HELP] Customizable & functional tile-based theme Posted: 07 Jan 2021 07:22 AM PST Hi all, Ever since Buzz Launcher died I've been looking for a replacement for my current theme, yet found nothing getting even close to how functional this one is. So yeah, in 2021 I'm still using Buzz Launcher with the same theme as several years ago. With my latest phone though, an S20 FE, the resolution ratio has changed, and the theme is no longer using the full display size. Add to that any security issues or bugs that may have been plaguing the defunct launcher, and I'm getting more desperate to find a replacement without investing hundreds of hours into building my own. What my archaic theme looks like: Each tile can be customized to open an app, or to open a folder with multiple apps. One single screen to rule them all. No dead space (except for the black space at the top and bottom since switching to the S20 FE), yet doesn't feel crowded. Is anyone aware of similar themes built on top of KWLP or something else? To summarize the most important aspects: - fully functional, no dead space e.g. wallpaper covering 50% of the screen - icons / tiles that can be customized to open folders with multiple apps - I don't want hardcoded tiles / icons of particular apps, since I might not be using them - stylish, otherwise I wouldn't be here :) I've been crawling through the themes here in the past two months, and my feeling so far is that they're heavily artistic oriented, with large swaths of screen real estate not doing anything. The ones that do have more functionality (e.g. Casio set) seem heavier / more crowded that what I'm used to, while not packing the same amount of functionality. [link] [comments] |
