Huawei Mate 20 Pro stops working due to water exposure but starts working again a few days after Posted: 07 Jan 2021 12:40 AM PST Apologise in advance if this is the wrong place to post such a thing, as I am not sure where to post it. So my phone screen stops working but I am not sure as far what is the damage within, as I can still hear the earpiece, probably due to pressing the power button to trigger SOS but the screen was unresponsive as far as I can tell. After that, I just left it and came back to it a few days later, battery at 3% and screen working fine, no water in selfie lens (was foggy before due to liquid I'm guessing). What should I do? Continue to use it as long as it works or get it checked? Tl;dr : Phone screen spoils and unresponsive but works seemingly without problem days after. What should I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 09:15 AM PST For the last couple of months or so my battery life on this phone was horrible, I had to charge it 2 or 3 times a day. I did everything I can to save more battery like removing bloatware, keeping the phone on low brightness, stop more apps from running in the background etc. but nothing helped. I finally decided to change my battery because I thought it was bad(I've been using it for three years) and surprise surprise that did not helped either. But I've noticed something strange prior and after the battery removal. As you can see the screen is using more around 140 % which I think is crazy. Does anyone know what it could be, or did anyone had similar issues. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Jan 2021 08:32 AM PST I've been out of storage for a while, and am trying to clear out the cache of large apps. When I try to clear instagrams cache, which is quite large, it clears for like .2 seconds. When I exit and come back a few seconds later, the cache is back, and is the same amount as it had been previously. Any ideas how I can fix this? [link] [comments] |
How do I Rotate my Android Home Screen to Landscape Mode? Posted: 07 Jan 2021 12:01 PM PST Hello, I've been looking for an answer to this question all throughout the internet to no avail. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G running on android 10, and for some reason my phone cannot display my home screen in landscape mode. Using apps in landscape mode is fine, but when exiting the apps, the home screen is in landscape mode for a few seconds and is then forced back into portrait mode. I've tried also looking through the phones settings and no where does it allow me to enable landscape mode for the home screen anywhere. Please if there's anyone who may know how to fix this, please let me know. Thank you! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 Jan 2021 10:51 AM PST I recently got hired to a new job at a school and need to be checking my email every day, so I attempted to add the work Gmail to my Pixel 4A 5G phone but it keeps attempting to set up a Work profile. The issue is that the work profile doesn't work, it constantly says it needs to re-login and then proceeds to delete and set up a new one. I would just like to access my email on my phone, not use the work profile. Would it be better to just have my work emails forwarded to a my normal account or is it possible to add the email without a work profile attached? Thank you kind wizards of Android [link] [comments] |

Automatic switching between SIM cards for data - possible? Posted: 07 Jan 2021 10:25 AM PST Also posted in /r/Android. I have a Ulefone Armor 3WT with Android 9. I have a SIM card with unlimited calls and 10 GB of data per month incl. roaming, and another card from a different operator with 100 GB of data but no "free" calls and no roaming. I'd like the phone to use #2 for mobile data by default, but switch to #1 if roaming or if #2 has no 4G connection, without having to go to the settings and manually switch to the other card every time. Is there an app for that? [link] [comments] |

Memory card / internal mem full Posted: 07 Jan 2021 08:02 AM PST Hello, My phone is Xiaomi Mi A1. 64GB internal mem. I added a 128 GB card, but as mem extension not as separate drive. Now I have system files on the card and I can't unplug or format it. Now internal mem is almost full and the card only used only 20 GB of 128. Because the internal mem is so full the phone gets black screen. I have to boot in safe mode, delete some data and then it works. I don't find a way to transfer more data from the internal mem to the card. Any ideas ? Apps ? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:24 PM PST Hi everyone! I find optimiser so, so poor for my mental health. I know some people will be judgemental and say I have no self control, etc. But that doesn't matter. I have an actual question I need help with to sort my mental health out. So please do be kind. Is it possible that someone can connect to my phone and listen to me using media and devices? Posted: 07 Jan 2021 06:02 AM PST Recently I discovered the Media and devices buttons on my quick panel. Clicked on both of them and then clicked the "done " button on the bottom right on both of them to go further. At first I thought it was interesting and useful that you can use these quick panel options to see devices and media playing on your phone. But recently one of my friends told me that I made a huge mistake. He told me that if you click on the "done" buttons on both media and devices you can get hacked and someone can spy on you using them. Me being extremely paranoid and insecure by nature really didn't like thinking that someone might be seeing what I watch and what I listen to as well as being listened to from somewhere else. So I came to ask here. Is it possible that you can get hacked and someone can listen and see what you are listening to through the media and devices panel. Also is there a way to see if someone is connected to my phone without me knowing? Maybe I'm being a bit too paranoid but I still wanted to ask just in case. I haven't connected my phone to anything or even used bluetooth from when I got it as far as I know. Using a Samsung galaxy A20e if this helps. [link] [comments] |

How do I recover a disapeared video? Posted: 07 Jan 2021 05:23 AM PST I moved some videos from my internal storage to a folder on my sd card. Then I went to move some more videos and the first videos disapeared. I got a message that said something like "same path". Thing is, these videos were each around 500 megabytes and my internal storage is 31.64/32 GB, so it seems they should still be there, but I can't find them. Is there a way to make them appear or to recover them? Is there an app for this? [link] [comments] |

Samsung s20+ (Verizon) mobile hotspot issue. Posted: 06 Jan 2021 05:37 PM PST I have a samsung s20+, my carrier is Verizon. I am attempting to use the mobile hotspot for my work. I am able to hook up my work computer to the mobile hotspot. When I try to connect to the work VPN, I am unable to connect to the VPN. This is a new phone for me, my old phone (pixel 3xl) had the ability to allow connection to the vpn through the mobile hotspot. Here are the some of the things I have tried: Reset network settings on my phone. Turn off firewall on my computer. Turn off power saving mode under mobile hotspot settings. Used my wife's pixel 5, turned on hotspot and was able to connect to VPN. Any advice or help is very much appreciated! Edit: Update: friend suggested that I download nord vpn, turn on mobile hotspot, run nord vpn and connect my computer. Once connected I tried connecting to vpn and it worked. Any suggestions for a work around so I don't have to use nord vpn? [link] [comments] |
Need method to stop my volume buttons from taking photos and stop/starting my video recorder. Posted: 07 Jan 2021 02:43 AM PST I just realized i had spent half an hour recording an important meeting but when i checked the video recording i only had the first 2 minutes, Ahhh. Looks like i had accidentally pressed on the volume button and this stops the video recorder. Anyone advise how i can stop this from happening? I have looked at quite a few volume locker apps and button remappers but they either just lock audio levels or are over my head in complexity. I just need to stop the volume buttons taking photos or stopping the video recorder. On a Huawei p30L android 10 [link] [comments] |
Re-lock bootloader and keep root on stock rom? Posted: 06 Jan 2021 04:34 PM PST I unlocked the bootloader on my device and flashed magisk patched boot.img but then it will only boot with my bootloader left unlocked. If I lock it and try to boot I get an error saying "no operating system found". Am I missing something? It's not possible to lock bootloader after flashing magisk (without reflashing stock boot.img)? My device is new, running A10, with A/B-partitioning. I used Magisk beta channel for patching boot (21.3 or something). [link] [comments] |
