Since the version 11 update my phone keeps asking me to turn on a feature I do not want turned on.

How do I get the system software to stop asking me to turn on Find My Mobil?

I have never used the feature, but since the latest update I get daily, someone multiple times a day, notifications to turn it on.

No cell service even after factory reset.

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 11:45 AM PST

Was wondering if there is any way to tell if the hardware is damaged on my cell phone making it impossible to get signal. I have reset, manually set the apn, switched the simcard to another phone and the simcard works. Not sure where to go other then buying a new phone. I can still make calls via wifi calling but anything cellular does not work http://imgur.com/a/Qc8W0Aq

Keep getting random calls from my city or near.

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 11:37 AM PST

please let me know if this question fits a better sub. So today, i received 5 calls from 5 different numbers all in different cities around me, i declined all the calls since i didn't know who they were. When i received the 5th call, i decided to call back because i was curious, when the person picked up, he said he never called me. What does that even mean? I'm getting multiple random calls from people who didn't even call me?

Note 10 Quick Charging Inconsistently- is it the charger, phone, cable?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 11:31 AM PST

    Hi all,

Sometimes I'll go a full week where I plug my phone in and it charges fast charge no problem every time. Other times it feels like I have to unplug the charger and cable two or three times before I'll get the phone to actually fast charge (and not get the 'to charge faster use the cable and charger included with the device' warning).

Is this an issue with the phone? Charger? Cable? Something to do with the extension cord the charger is on? These are all random chargers and cables I have as it is a hand-me-down phone.

I bought some new fast charge 3.0 chargers (but still 18w I believe) and was upset to find the same issue (my phone also got what felt like way hotter with this new charger- but never got quite hot enough that I felt I had to unplug it).

These were the newer ones from Amazon and I know they are cheap, I got roped in by the Qualcomm brand which they aren't actually Qualcomm lol.

Thanks, I did a quick Google but most things I found were tied to the quick charge setting on the phone or related to wireless charging.

Stupid question: Are fast chargers just the charging dock? Or is it the dock and the cable together? Like could I choose any usb-c cable and hook that up to a fast-charger dock and still get a fast charge ?

How do you apply a filter/effect (internally) to the camera?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 12:57 PM PST

How do you apply an effect or filter (internally) to the camera so that when other apps accesses the camera the effect/filter would still apply? For example, if I wanted to enter a zoom meeting but wanted my face blurred or have a negative filter or infrared effect, how would I go about doing that? Are there apps that can apply an effect/filter to the camera (internally) so that the camera shows the effect/filter instead?

Wifi calls in background for hours, with never activated wifi calls, what does this mean?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 12:55 PM PST

    Hi,

I noticed that the first time in August. My problem is that my Android smartphone (Samsung A6) gets wifi calls in background for hours at night. The mysterious thing about that is that I never activated wifi calls, I actually have them deactivated since beginning. Also, why should someone call me at night for over 4 hours straight? That's what the battery information says, no information about that anywhere else. I barely even phone others without wifi, and never did with. So I don't understand that.

Just to clarify it: I'm getting wifi call background activity from time to time and when they appear, they are 3 to 5 hours long. I can only see that in the battery information, but with 0% active activity (foreground).

I'm really worried that this could be something unnormal because I searched it up in the internet very often and never find something about it. What's the problem here or is this just normal stuff?

    Best regards

Any way to crack Galaxy s8?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 12:14 PM PST

Basically I have a galaxy s8 that has data on it that is important. It's asking for a pin with 4 or more digits. I have no idea what the google password for it is ( so cant use google to recover). Probably doesn't have USB debugging enabled. I have no idea what version of Android is on it. Is all hope lost or is there anything that can retrieve the data? Primarily SMS/text messages is what is needed. Assuming android 7 ( the original version when it was shipped) is still on it. Could that allow for some exploit? Thanks for any help.

Does service quality affect photo quality?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 10:31 AM PST

Okay so I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+ on Sprint. Good camera. My photos are clear and good quality when I take them. Even when I screenshot something it's fine. Could post the pictures to Facebook, Instagram, wherever and they are fine, with the same photo quality. Yet everyone that receives a photo via Facebook Messenger it's always blurry (so they tell me). Even sending it, the sent photo looks blurry until I delete it and resend it, then it looks clear. But they always seem to get it blurry. Which is stupid and annoying. I'm not too sure the video quality though, they only tell me about photo quality. However sending a video via text messages are always blurry, but I'm not sure if the photos are blurry. Either way, everything shows that it's because of service quality. People in the Sprint subreddit want to blame my phone but my phone and it's photos taken are completely fine until I send them directly to someone - which means using the internet/tower connection and sending it. From my understanding, there's something lost or affected between the data transferring that makes it blurry because there's no sense in when I post it anywhere it's fine, it's only when I send it to people and with two apps (one being text, which relies strongly on towers and connection). It doesn't make sense to blame my phone when the photos are completely fine beforehand. So I'm asking does service quality have a direct affect on the quality of sent media (photos and videos) from one person to another? And they also can't blame Facebook because every photo or video I get from people are clear and good. It's only my media when I send it.

Lg Stylo 5 won't turn on...

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 09:06 AM PST

My LG Stylo 5 was at 26% and I decided to charge it. Upon putting the charger in, the screen turned black and it wouldn't turn back on. It won't respond to any attempts to turn it back on or calls and messages and such. Typically, when it's charging, a light is red on it, but that won't turn on either.

Is it a lost cause? Can I get the data off of it?

    Random Log File

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 09:03 AM PST

Device: Pixel 4 XL, Android 11 latest security patch.

When I go into the Files app, under Documents & other, there's a random file called 'DeviceStatusRunLog.txt' that keeps popping up. If I open it with HTML Viewer, it has random Chinese that when translated says "Device connected successfully" and then a CAMID and date/time. It's stored on my phone in /storage/emulated/0/. I have no idea what app is generating this. I work in IT so know how to recognize a fake email/text, etc and I've never clicked on malicious links in Phishing emails or spam texts, never logged in with my Google account to any random apps (and I use 2-step verification) and only have installed apps from the Play Store. The only exception is Signal which I beta test for so it's installed via Firebase/App Tester.

Any ideas what would be generating this file, how to see what is creating it? If I delete it, it reappears a day or two later with updated dates/times in the file. I know it's hard to "hack" a phone, especially without me having anything malicious installed, but it's concerning since this has the random Chinese writing and appears on its own.

I think the media controls on my phone are broken

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 08:25 AM PST

I have a Oneplus 8 with Android 11. Here's some frustrating things that pertain to the media controls.

-it doesn't show up on the lockscreen most of the time. -When I press play or pause it sometimes doesn't work. When I go back to the actual music player app it starts working -tunein radio doesn't show up at all.

I'm using Blackplayer and Tunein pro as my music apps. They're also cracked versions and not downloaded from the playstore. YouTube Vanced and castbox works fine tho.

    PHONE REBOOTS

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 08:06 AM PST

Hi guys, i have a problem with my s10 lite. Some weeks ago i updated it to android 11, and since then it started rebooting a lot of times a day. It is also a strange kind of reboot, since it freezes while im doing nothing but writing a message or scrolling ig, and then reboots. However, today happened a very strange thing: it started to REBOOT CONTINUOUSLY, so I couldn't do anything to stop it. For instance, it stayed on for like 3-5 seconds, then rebooted again, and again. It did this for like 2 hours, and in the end I managed to stop that by holding power button + volume up button. Do u think it is an android 11 problem? I was thinking that maybe I should save all my data, do all the backups I need, and then factory reset it... should I do that? Thanks <3

    Developer Options - App Standby

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 07:36 AM PST

    Greetings!

I just got my new Oneplus phone and been playing around with the settings to enhance the battery life. Came across this "App Standby" feature under Developer Options and I dug a bit on what each profile does. But something does not make sense to me, maybe I've got the concept wrong.

Whenever I tried to set an app, let's say Whatsapp / LinkedIn to "Rare" profile, it will eventually comes back on to "Working_Set" or "Active".

This is how I tested it: Make sure LinkedIn is not opened (no LinkedIn on recent apps menu) ---> Set app profile to "Rare" for LinkedIn ---> Go to Home Screen ---> Open LinkedIn & scroll a little here and there ---> Return Home screen ---> Close/ kill LinkedIn via recent apps menu

And now, upon checking, the profile does not go back to "Rare" profile instead it shows "Active" / "Working_Set". Does it mean I have to manually adjust the app profile every time I close the apps? How actually does it work? Could someone pls enlighten me?

Former ios user not receiving group texts from iphones.

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 07:27 AM PST

I have been on Android for several years now, but used to use iMessage. I deregistered when I first made the switch. However, I have a macbook and my wife asked me why I hadn't responded to a message thread from earlier in the day. I looked at my mac and noticed I had 2 unread messages in the messages tab. I logged out of iMessage there, but am still not receiving group texts from iphones. It seems like I am receiving direct texts though. Help from Apple, Google and Verizon have gotten me nowhere. Has anyone experienced anything similar with any success?

    Please explain Battery usage?

    Posted: 14 Jan 2021 06:43 AM PST

Pixel 3a. A few days ago my battery seemed to start draining faster, so I've been looking at Battery usage. The numbers don't make sense, and my searches have uncovered many people having this problem for several years (on different phones, obviously), with no good answers.

Currently, Battery usage tells me the following:

    - 30% battery remaining

    - 11 apps using battery since the last full charge, ranging from "12%" to several at "1%"

    - the total of the listed percentages is only 39%

I'll assume that there are apps with <1% usage, but since there can't be hundreds, I'll consider that negligible.

So...either the app list accounts for how 39% of the battery was used, leaving 31% (100%-39%-30%) unaccounted for, or worse, this accounts for 39% of that which was used, leaving 73% (100%-(70%x39%)-30%) of the battery use unexplained.

I'm shocked that something this basic could be left so arcane after what appears to be several years of no one understanding it. Can anyone please help me understand this?
