- Phone that doesn't have fast charge happens to be fast charging and it gets hot as hell - how is this even possible? Isn't the charger supposed to figure out that it's a non-fast charge phone? Phone is Xiaomi Mi 4 and power meter says 9 volts, 1.5 amps; phone does indeed charge super fast!

| Posted: 09 Jan 2021 04:36 AM PST I kept hearing news audio randomly starting multiple times (it happened almost every time I used Google maps to head to a different address). Any way to stop that from happening? It's kinda creepy... Screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/aOeWG4G It honestly sounded like the typical news audio that the Google Assistant can play (if you know what I mean?). I'm a bit of nerd about atomic timekeeping and I was wondering if there is perhaps any way to make my phone use the NIST atomic time server time.nist.gov to synchronize the time and date. I understand that there are apps I can use to see the time from that server, but I'd like to make my phone use time.nist.gov instead of my network's default time server. I am using Android version 9. Recently have been very anxious about my security and had a question regarding something that I m not quite sure about . Today I opened my gallery to look at some screenshots I took . After I clicked on my screenshot album to look at all my photos I had to leave the room since my friend was coming over and i had to awnser the door , leaving my phone alone . After I opened the door to let my friend in I went to pick up my phone , by the time the screen had gone black cuzz I wasn't using the phone and had to unlock it again . After a little chat with my friend she told me that I shouldn't leave my gallery open and let my screen darken because while the screen was blacked out my whole album can be sent to someone or shared without me knowing . I laughed it off as a joke at first but after a while my friend left and I was left alone just thinking , can my whole screenshot album be shared or sent to someone while I wasn't looking . I know this is a stupid question but I just wanted to ask to make sure . Posted: 09 Jan 2021 04:33 AM PST I'm on a Huawei, Android 8, and I swear I literally blanked on my pattern lock, and my muscle memory just forgot. Luckily, I have fingerprint ID, but that's not reliable (it let me in after like 10+ tries). But to disable the pattern lock, I need to know it. Is there anyway to remove it without knowing it or to somehow see what it is? Or even to add another password/PIN so I can at least get in? [link] [comments] |
| How to install system ttf fonts on Android Posted: 09 Jan 2021 09:22 AM PST So I use a tablet to go to a specific webpage (that I do not control). On PC, that webpage uses fonts like Audiowide and some other common google ttf fonts. However, when I visit that same page on my android tablet, the webpage just uses the default helvetica or whatever font. Most of the "font changer" apps I have seen in the play store allow you to customize your SYSTEM fonts (like android menus and screens and whatnot), but doesn't seem to just "install" the font on the system for things like Chrome to use. Any advice on how to get ttf fonts into the Android OS so that Chrome can use those fonts when displaying the webpage? [link] [comments] |

There have been a couple of times where I try to reset and the screen will turn black halfway through the new setup process. Or one time, a boot menu popped up after I hit the "delete all" button. I usually end up resetting my phone a couple of times afterwards just to be safe, but wasn't really sure what's actually going on in these situations, or if the phone's totally reset. Whenever I leave my Galaxy S10 on the Screensaver for longer than 10 minutes, Chrome is opening windows to all sorts of sites. I've opened to Men's Health, to articles I don't care about, to pages of "your phone has a virus, download this app...", to advertisements to porn sites. The longer I leave it, the more pages that are open. Overnight last night, it opened something like 14 pages (over a span of 8 hours) A Google search gave me 2 fixes to try that I've done. 1. I cleared out all Chrome history of cookies and browsing history. 2. I searched for any any unnamed apps that were in my phone...or any that looked suspicious...I didn't find any. [link] [comments] |

What I figure out is happening is that the charger doesn't realize it's a non-fast charge phone thus sends 9V (which is fast charge voltage) instead of 5V. Any comments or insights? I keep it in vibrate mode as I drive buses for a living and don't want the sound going off in my bag and providing a distraction or making me jump. Lately, while definately in vibrate mode, my phone is making sounds as if on loud. Does anyone know what may cause this, or how I can fix it? With the UK in lockdown I can't take it to a store. TIA! | Google Search bar stuck on Gray Posted: 09 Jan 2021 03:34 AM PST my main problem is that when I got my phone ( Galaxy Note 20 Ultra ) when dark mode turned on.. the google search bar would turn into dark black with he G and the microphone logos being colored with google colors.. which looks sexy AF. but then after sometimes it the background out of no where turned into gray and the G logo is still as it was but the mic logo turend white.. !! I know about the customize option in google app but it won't work. when I restart my phone the widget gets back to where it was but for 5 seconds only then it goes back to gray.. if I choose black at the options.. then the G turns into white... and I want it to be colorful.. | Posted: 08 Jan 2021 08:51 PM PST I bought this phone for its waterproof design and stuff, and it worked pretty well for the most part. However, I took a shower with it today and as usual, water got into the speaker port and stuff, so I played the same water-removal frequency videos to get rid of the water. However, and this brings me to my main issue. This time for some reason, even way after all the water's gone, my phone REFUSES to charge normally, only able to do so wirelessly. If I were to plug it into a regular wall charger, the charger plug and port would just start cooking and getting really hot until the phone freaks out and severs the connection from overheating. How can I resolve this? I've already tried different cables and scraping the insides of the USB-C port to remove corrosion and what not, same results. [link] [comments] |

However, my OnePlus 5T has about a 30s delay before switching from the default network to a roaming network. During this period, I don't have a cellular connection; causing me to drop calls and lose data connections, which is a real annoyance. Is there a way to shorten or remove this network switching delay? An option like "Aggressive switch to roaming networks" would be very useful. [link] [comments] |

My girlfriend finally made a backup of many photos she had in her phone so, after deleting all of those, decided to let the phone update itself now that it has free space. That was last night and it's still "updating" itself. Searched the web and tried everything I could except for the factory reset, since I don't want her to lose her data. One thing that I haven't been able to do is to get into Safe Mode (so I can enable USB debugging). I press and hold Volume down and the Power button but it doesn't do anything. | Apps crash after titanium backup restore Posted: 09 Jan 2021 05:14 AM PST Hi, Edit : solved by using migrate I can't login to my snapchat account for a reason that I don't know, so I logged in with another phone, made a backup of snapchat with titanium backup and restored it on my current phone. So far everything went fine, but when trying to open snapchat, it immediately crashes. I can backup apps and restore them while staying on my phone, but I tried with backups from other phones and none of them worked... I don't mind if i have google apps on my phone. you can suggest roms if u know better options. Something like Lineage os is not officaly supported on my device.
