| Apps Removing Themselves From Device Posted: 10 Jan 2021 02:55 AM PST I'm using an LG V10 (Verizon) on Android version 6.0 (security patch level 12/1/17) and when I turn off my phone, my browser app (Dolphin) Google Voice, Google Keep, Gmail, Google Authenticator and Amino show not on my device. So I redownload them and decided not to turn my phone at night. This worked for awhile then my device would delete the Play Store, CBS Sports, Google Keep, Google Voice, Snapchat, Dolphin Browser, Telegram and a few games. I reloaded the Play store by downloading the APK file from APK Pure in order to get it back and then had to redownload play services along with the other apps. This also started happening this month. I'm trying to get an answer before going full reset (nearly 4 years with this device). Anyone got an answer? [link] [comments] |

It just goes out when the screen goes dark. As you can see, you can tease the proximity sensor to bring it from total silence to horribly choppy playback. Sometimes. Or not. At other times it works fine for days, sometimes weeks. And then it all starts happening again and I can't get rid of it. This is a Pixel 3a running stock Android 11, all updates. Not rooted, no custom ROM or anything. And it's a YT Music premium account, I'm paying 12 Euros a month for this. In Google Play Music I never had this problem. It worked flawlessly right until the day they shut it down. Needless to say, I'm a little p*ssed. Has anyone else seen this? What might be going on here? [link] [comments] |

| Viable replacement for google play music? Posted: 10 Jan 2021 11:57 AM PST Im a very simple person with simple needs: I need an audio player that plays the files on my phone with no nessecity to connect to the internet or stream new songs. Basically, what Google Play Music used to be like once you hit the "downloaded only" button. Youtube music seems to require me to be online to access my library, and also isnt recognizing countless MP3s that are on my phone, only the ones I purchased previously on google play music. I need the app to: Have the ability to make playlists The ability to play downloaded songs offline Contain no ads Have a music player widget NO BULLSHIT STREAMING SERVICE THAT I WONT USE FLUFF The fact that my new top of the line phone (Oneplus 8) doesnt come installed with a fucking mp3 player is highly concerning [link] [comments] |
| Swipe lock on my Galaxy A21 stopped working briefly. Posted: 10 Jan 2021 11:57 AM PST Couple hours ago I unlocked it just fine. Set it down. Just tried to unlock it with the same swipe pattern I've used for years, and got repeated "incorrect pattern" results. Couldn't do a normal shutdown or restart because it required the pattern. Hard reset has it working fine. I'm curious as to what could have caused this though, and how to prevent it from happening in the future. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 10 Jan 2021 11:45 AM PST Hey there, On my Old LG phone, the navigation bar had an extra button to pull down the notifications pane. This was beside the regular Back, Home, Recent buttons. What are the options to get this Nav button feature for my Galaxy S20? Or a similar one click/gesture access to the notifications pane from anywhere, anytime. Note that I am aware that my phone has a built in swipe down feature to access notifications. However, that feature only works when you are on the home screen. On the other hand, the nav bar button would allow me to access the notifications pane from anywhere without having to reach all the way up to the notifications, which is extremely useful (e.g. one handed operation). | Unable to Change Tags (Metadata) of Certain Audio Files Posted: 10 Jan 2021 10:54 AM PST I have been going through all my music using 'Automatag' and change the metadata of the files. It has worked for the large majority apart from one hundred or so songs. I am unable to edit the tags on 'Samsung Music' which says "can't edit details for this track. Unsupported file type" and when using 'Blackplayer' it says "Failed to update music file. Successful updated database". All of the files (including the ones I could change) were all M4A audio files. All these songs, including the one which I could edit, were downloaded from either 'snaptube' or 'newpipe'. I have re-downloaded a few of the songs that wouldn't change, which has fixed the problem. Although I don't want to have to individually download each song and change the metadata all over again. I am wondering if there is some easier way to fix this and maybe know why this is happening? So I'm used to the ios photo software, where one image could be in multiple albums at the same time. But, at least in the default software and from what I'm aware, you can only either copy or move an image to an album. So having a photo in multiple albums means repeatedly duplicating the photo (also, my albums are really messed up on here when downloading my photos from the icloud. Dunno if that's just an album thing, or a different issue and things didn't all transfer properly). Is there any way to emulate the iphone's method of this feature, or any app that could give me the functionality I'm looking for? [link] [comments] |
| S20 touchscreen issue (not FE): becomes less responsive Posted: 10 Jan 2021 09:08 AM PST I have an S10 and am switching to the S20. I'd bought a new S20 FE phone a month ago and used the Smart Switch app to transfer all my data. I noticed that the touch screen was not as responsive as on my S10. Fast swipes were being mistaken for taps, and generally scrolling felt jittery as I couldn't swipe fast. I checked online and saw that the S20 FE has touch screen issues, and so thought that's what it is. Returned the phone. Fast forward to 2 days ago, I bought a used S20 (reputable seller). Started the smart switch transfer, and had the exact same issue! The touchscreen was not as responsive. I restarted my phone. That actually fixed it. The screen was just as responsive as my S10's screen. So there's definitely not a problem with the phone. The problem came back though. I thought Smart Switch might be causing some problems so decided to wipe the phone and start fresh. The screen was totally fine. No responsive issues. I was then manually adding all my apps back and syncing some Samsung accounts etc and the problem came back again. It came back specifically after I synced my Samsung cloud data. What's going on? Is there an app or something that's causing this? I've never experienced this on my S10. To show the issue, here are videos of me scrolling fast through the settings menu with the tap and scroll lines turned on in the developer options. I'm scrolling the exact same way on both, notice how much smaller the scroll lines are with the issue present, as well as how the scrolling just stops every now and then because the phone thinks I'm tapping instead of scrolling. | P4XL - Massive Chrome Battery Drain since Android 11 Posted: 10 Jan 2021 09:04 AM PST I'm running out of ideas... Chrome will consume at least 20% for barely 10 minutes used. I tried with Firefox Nightly and it so much better I tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Emptied cache and storage date from Google app. Nothing. Same results. Why is it happening. I don't want to factory reset my phone because I would lose all my google pay card and these days, my bank requires me to call them. Some games however store their save files within the data folder which I cannot access reliably without root access. I can see when my messages are read and that's fine. But recently I text him something that he didn't agree with and he felt rejected by. After reading the message, he didn't respond. I texted him the next day, and I baited him with an image that I know he would have to click on to open which will let me know if he opened it BC it would say read. However, these text messages and additional ones I've sent (android) have not changed from delivered status. I know he hasnt blocked me BC I've called, and even though he doesn't answer, my calls don't immediately go to VM.... can someone PLEASE help. I'm losing sleep over this and I'm very frustrated and irritated with this situation. Is there A way he can read my messages w/o changing the notification status, has he simply deleted them or is he just ignoring me AND my messages. [link] [comments] |
