Samsung S20 Guaranteed Buy Back Program Changes 24 months to 20 months Posted: 04 Dec 2020 08:15 AM PST Samsung Buy Back Guranteed Buy Back Program Samsung ran a promotion called "Guaranteed Buy-back program" with the Galaxy S20 series release. It basically guaranteed Half of the retail price back in cash which is $699 if you return the phone in good condition within 24 months. I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra from Samsung.com (US) when it was released. I checked samsung website and I saw that the return date was reduced to 20 months from 24 months without any notice to customer. Now It says I need to return it by December 2021 to receive the credit back. They also changed the whole term to half of the purchase price from half of the retail price. So your return value should be significantly less than what was promised in the beginning. I advise everyone who purchased the phone through buy back program at samsung.com to check their order online. Make sure to have your original invoice with the return date and return value written. You might need it later on. I am not sure whether it is legal for Samsung to change terms and condition for the purchase made in the past, but it looks pretty unethical to me. Original Terms and Condition Original promotion marketing qeEgMK2.png (1901×787) (imgur.com) The Order page at Samsung.com shows the return date limit under changed to December 13th, 2021 which is only 20 months from the s20 release date. 1yGl2V8.png (983×370) (imgur.com) It looks like they changed the terms and condition on July 24th, 2020. Only 3 months after people purchased phone through this program. [link] [comments]

Neat Samsung feature: the screenshot cropper will snap to layout bounds Posted: 04 Dec 2020 02:50 PM PST When you take a screenshot on a Samsung phone, a small editor bar pops up so you can annotate or crop the screenshot. But I think the One UI 2.5 update (or its November 2020 patch) makes cropping even better. When you drag the crop handles, they will snap it to the layout bounds of the app. Here's the bounds of an app and here's how it snapped to the top 2 list items. It seems to prefer snapping to small text elements instead of the larger parent bounds. It's a very clever addition, and it takes advantage of deeper system access that system apps have over third party apps. [link] [comments]
