Is there a way to have Google Maps show the speed limit ALWAYS, not just while on route? Posted: 04 Dec 2020 07:07 AM PST Basically, I'd like to see traffic data/navigation on my Galaxy S8 at all times. Most of the time I don't need a route for where I am going, but I prefer the speedometer on maps. Is there a way? [link] [comments] |
Battery drains to 1% then stays there for hours Posted: 04 Dec 2020 12:24 PM PST I have a Pixel 3 running the latest updates from Google. I'd say it has relatively normal battery life, except for one strange issue: it will survive at 1% for hours. I can get maybe 20 or 30 minutes of screen time at 1%, and if I leave the screen off it will last up to two hours. This is without any power saving mode, I even have the ambient display on while this is happening. I've tried running it until it dies, then charging it up to 100%, but the "problem" still exists. Posted: 04 Dec 2020 02:27 PM PST I don't have very much storage on my phone. Either when an app updates or I download a new one, if it's compatible, I always move them to the sd card. So I was wondering if there was a way to make it so that this is always done automatically. [link] [comments] |
An app to see packets my phone is sending to my router Posted: 04 Dec 2020 01:07 PM PST Don't know if that is the right subreddit. Anyway I have a waterpump that is controlled over an app via my router. I now want to find out what the app sends to the pump when i press on/off to be able to let a microcontroller send those commands to the pump. What app am i looking for here? It's been some time but I saw it in a YouTube video where somebody sniffed out other commands for a different device but it has been years so no clue who or what exactly he used. If you have an idea or a suggestion for abetter fitting subreddit id greatly appreciate it [link] [comments] |

Pixel 3a doesn't receive incoming calls Posted: 04 Dec 2020 11:40 AM PST Sometimes when I receive incoming calls, nothing ever comes up on the screen giving me the option to answer, it just texts me saying "Missed call from _____ @ (time/date) 1 time(s). Call / text me back". The incoming call also doesn't show up in the call log. This has been happening for a while now and it's really annoying, does anyone have any idea on how to fix? Stuck in maintenance boot mode, unresponsive buttons Posted: 04 Dec 2020 11:16 AM PST Frustrated owner of a Samsung Galaxy S8 here. I'm having a pretty bad technology day, and while trying to fix a different issue, I got myself into maintenance boot mode. I now can't get out. I know my volume up button isn't working at the moment, that's what caused this fiasco in the first place. Not sure if the Bixby button is working, as I shut Bixby off the second I got the phone. Volume down button and power button are confirmed to work. However, none of the buttons scroll through or select any of the maintenance boot mode options-- including the volume down button which I know works and should move the selection between options-- so I'm just stuck. I can use the volume down and power buttons to restart, but it just reboots to the maintenance mode again. The Bixby button is the one I need in order to select a normal boot, and if I need to do a different type of boot to fix my other issues I need the volume up or down button to work. I also let the phone die, but upon charging it just goes back to the same boot screen. Really need help here. Edit: I wonder if the lack of responsiveness might have something to do with the broken volume up button? The button seems unresponsive but sometimes my volume would randomly go all the way up even if I wasn't touching the phone... Might be blocking other input? No idea. Also btw the vol up button isn't jammed or anything, phone and I just took a surprise dip into a creek last week and the volume thing has been an issue since. Would it be possible that connecting a mouse or keyboard to my phone would allow me to select one of the boot options? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Dec 2020 11:08 AM PST When I tap on a phone number in an app, it goes to the phone app and has the number entered, but doesn't start the call. Is there a way to change this so it just dials the number? [link] [comments] |

Something on my phone is reaching out to malwares sites? How to monitor outgoing traffic? Posted: 04 Dec 2020 01:31 PM PST I've got a Galaxy s9+ that I can't root because it's snapdragon. My router is constantly sending reports to me that it's blocked traffic to malware sites from my phone. The issue is that this is occurring when I'm not even using the phone. What I've done so far:
How do I monitor or get logs to show what app is requesting access to the malware/phishing site? [link] [comments] |

Any way to mark all voicemails as "read"? Posted: 04 Dec 2020 10:58 AM PST |
Posted: 04 Dec 2020 10:51 AM PST Something around 300-500$. I would really like a bigger screen but can't afford to pay a thousand for a tablet. I would mainly be using it to read sheet music, plus regular media consumption. [link] [comments] |

All of a sudden I have multiple duplicats of two of my contacts Posted: 03 Dec 2020 09:28 PM PST Just noticed today that 2 of my contacts have created multiple duplicates (59 of one of them) not sure why this would have happened, but it will not allow me to merge them. S20 Android 11 update - no option to hide camera cutout anymore? Posted: 04 Dec 2020 05:26 AM PST I am trying to hide my camera cutout but the option seems to have disappeared. There's no longer an advanced settings tab in full-screen apps. There used to be an option there to add a black bar to the screen to hide the camera cutout. Does anyone know where this button went? Posted: 04 Dec 2020 02:47 AM PST I use my calendar to remind me about various things. Sometimes I leave the phone on the desk, so I need an app that will play some custom mp3 sound indefinitely -> this way I wont miss the alarm: the phone will be still alerting after I come back. At the same time I would like a functionality that the app pops on whole screen and gives me 10 (or even more) big buttons that let me "snooze" (move forward) the alarm. For example by 5 minutes /10minutes/30minutes/1hour/2hours/5hours/21hours/24hours/7days. Sometimes this might mean a situation where some alert is "snoozed" multiple times for example: alert is "do X" -> but I cannot do X, so I snooze the alarm for say 30 minutes -> after 30 minutes alarm pops again -> I snooze it again, this time for 10. Then for 5 hours. Is there ANY app that can do it? I tried like 10 different apps and none of them works. The only one that worked was "calendar snooze" but it seems to be no longer supported - and for some reason it now does not show the big whole screen menu for me (which had big buttons with customized times to snooze) Does anyone know how to solve this? There are multiple, multiple threads about it but no solutions. Or solutions point out to old apps that dont work. [link] [comments] |
How to turn off vibrate completely in Samsung m31s Posted: 04 Dec 2020 06:21 AM PST I have explored the settings and haven't found a way to turn off vibrate generally for all apps. It is realy annoying. I then tried to turn off vibration individually for the app. Example telegram , but then i had to turn off vibration specifically for each group in telegram . And even after doing that the phone vibrates when a message comes in that group. Somehow the vibration turns back on automatically on its own. I dont understand why. No matter how many times i turn it off , vibration turns on automatically as soon as the next message comes. It is incredibly annoying [link] [comments] |
