Does anyone else feel that Android is lacking a "forward" gesture? Posted: 11 Dec 2020 03:07 PM PST Android 10 has gestures. It allows users to navigate through system without using buttons. If you slide from left side of the screen to the middle you're pretty much performing the back button function. That's super cool and handy. And if you do the same gesture but from the right corner to the middle you're performing the same back function. Why isn't it performing a forward function? When I started using gestures it felt natural to me that the opposite of going back must be forward. There are so many practical ways of utilizing forward function. Going forward in the web browser, going to the app or reddit thread you just closed, going forward to the setting or action you just backed from. Has anyone felt the absence of forward gesture too? [Warning] Stay away from phone clips/coolers/radiators. Posted: 11 Dec 2020 11:54 AM PST I think everyone knows what thermal throttling is, right? If not let me explain: Thermal throttling is a process in which the device, being PCs, consoles or mobiles cut down their performance to reduce battery and cpu temperatures, which results in frame drops in some games, so you want to avoid thermal throttling always. Up until today, I had been using a 5 inch wind fan to keep my temps low when playing Genshin Impact or Fortnite, and the majority of times my temps are at 30°C-35°C, just enough to prevent throttling. These days have been getting colder and when ambient temperature decreased, the fan cranked my temps to 25°-30°C, so pretty good. But i've seen many people make reviews of mini phone coolers that supposedly cool down your phone to 24°C. And so I decided to buy one of those. Today I received the Blackshark Funcooler pro from xiaomi, and the moment I connected it to the power and turned it on, I could feel the radiator surface get cold in seconds. Good up until here, right? NO I then attached this clip to my phone and started playing Genshin Impact as usual, with the highest settings, and the cooler initially did a great job, keeping my temps low, but after 15 mins the temperature went up to 40°C, just enough for the device to slow down. The ambient tenperature today is of 10°C btw. I thought something was wrong and I decided to try my traditional fan once more. The temperature went down to 26°C in 5 minutes. The veredict: If you were looking for a throttling solution, avoid these mini clips that cost you $40. My traditional fan cost me $15 and does the job WAY better. If you were looking for one of these clips, stop it. Get a traditional fan instead an point it to your fan in that case. I hope you don't make the same mistake as me. I'm returning it today as well. Don't pay attention to those fake youtube reviews! [link] [comments] | ||
Latest update to my Samsung S9 gave me ads on my lock screen Posted: 11 Dec 2020 01:31 PM PST Have not installed any apps for a week. Only thing I have down is the update from Samsung. There are other people in my area experiencing the same thing. I have not found a way to remove it yet. [link] [comments] |
