Android TV Controlling LG CX volume with Android TV Remote

Controlling LG CX volume with Android TV Remote

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 03:59 AM PST

    Hi All,

I have tried to find the answer for this issue all over without any luck.

I have recently bought a Humax Aura Android TV box and it is connected to my LG CX

I am trying to get my Aura remote to control the TV volume, i have gone through all the Universal Remote control codes and although the Aura remote can do basic things like turn the TV off it does not change the volume of the TV, instead it reverts to changing the Android TV system volume.

Is there a solution to this or do i always need to use my LG remote for the volume?

Thanks in advance to anyone that takes the time to read and reply.

Picture settings not applying on video player

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 08:16 AM PST

Hello, I got a 32" TCL Android TV (32A325) and the picture settings seem to be on default when I open a video player like Stremio. The picture settings work fine on apps like Netflix or YouTube.

I'd like to know if there's a way to enable the picture settings on other apps.

    GoogleTV Home Channels Order

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 12:54 AM PST

    Hi all,

Is there a way to edit the Channels (Suggestions rows) on the Chromecast home tab?

On AndroidTV, you can select which app could populate suggestions on the home screen.

    And edit their positions too.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Projector with Android TV built in or not?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 06:11 AM PST

Projector with Android TV built in or not?

I'm looking for advice and recommendations. I'd like a projector to use in my campervan and I'm torn between the cheaper ones on the market at around £50-70 and then having to insert and separately power a smart TV stick or box or spending £250-500 on a projector with Android TV and Wi-Fi built in.

Firstly I'd ideally like to watch TV when I'm off grid (no electric hook-up) and so the rechargeable projectors like Anker Nebula/ Nebula Max/ Nebula Max 2 appeal. They are pricey and I would want to be investing for longer term and could therefore potentially end up stuck with an outdated Android operating system. But I like the fact they have everything in the one device to just stand on the table and go.

Or do I buy a cheap projector and insert my Chromecast with Google TV or some other streaming stick (I have FireTV and Roku boxes kicking around) in order that I know I'll always have up to date system software but have to always have either or both of the projector and streaming device connected to power packs or my campervan's cigarette sockets?

The projector will at the very most only ever be 1.5 to 2 metres from the screen so even the cheapest on the market should suffice.

Is anyone currently using Android TV projectors/ rechargeable projectors or running a projector system in a leisure vehicle with any words of advice?

    Google TV keeps dropping connection

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 06:35 PM PST

Hey guys, my Google TV shows an excellent connection to my ATT wifi gateway with gigabit service. Yet it has issues maintaining a connection where it will pop up that it has reconnected to wifi and will sometimes lose the connection all together and stop streaming. I have tried a factory reset, forget and re add connection, plugged the device I to an HDMI extension to move it clearly out into the open and it is currently only about 6 feet from the gateway.

I have no idea what else to try. Anyone else had this issue? How hard it is to get the device replaced to see if that's the issue? It was purchased from the Google store.

    Hi,

Just wondering if I was to sideload the new Google TV launcher on the Shield TV, will it have any adverse affects when carrying out System updates?

Google TV - what's so great about it

    Posted: 30 Nov 2020 01:57 AM PST

I have an Nvidia Shield with Leanback launcher and a Chromecast with Google TV. I've also tried ATV launcher on my generic Android box.

it seems to me that none of the other launchers have the same wonderful aggregation feature that Google TV has. Being able to see my Netflix Amazon prime and BBC iPlayer shows and movies in the same recommended lists is great, saves time is intuitive and Powerful.

Also clicking on any of these recommendations gives me information about the actors and director of the show/movie and I can click on that to find other shows/movies that they have been in.

This one thing (aggregated recommendations and categorisation) makes Google TV far better for browsing if you don't already know what you want to watch or which service you want to use.

I just like having Disney plus visible because I do not have that service, but I am able to access whatever I like via "other means" if I really want.

    What do you reckon?

Anyway to "revert" Chromecast with Google TV to Android TV?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 01:25 PM PST

    Hi All,

On my humble opinion, Android TV is actually much much better and cleaner than Google TV.

I've seen many posts out there on how to change the launcher from Android TV to Google TV, but anyone knows how to do the opposite?

    Thanks!

    Update GTV/YTTV Library tab

Is there a way to force the GTV Library tab "From Your DVR" tab to update to the current shows on the YTTV Library tab New page without Force Stopping YTTV or restarting GTV? I'm tired of looking at shows I watched last Thursday.

Anyone else have optimization problems with tab casting and the new Chromecast with Google TV?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 12:21 PM PST

So for my football setup, I typically have 2-3 TVs, all with Chromecasts of varied gens/models, and a laptop casting full screen video to each. I prefer the chrome tabs to "optimize fullscreen videos" when casting since I can notice a quality difference given that my laptop isn't the most powerful.

I recently replaced my Chromecast Ultra with a Chromecast with Google TV. However, on football days, the new Chromecast doesn't seem to be able to handle the stream as an optimized video. It always drops back to screen mirroring. Meanwhile, my 1st gen Chromecast and my 2nd gen Chromecast can handle the optimized stream no problem.

Anyone else running into this problem or is it just me? Also, any idea what I could do to fix it?

Any reason to use a Roku stick or Fire stick with an Android TV?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2020 10:54 AM PST

I've been using a dumb TV for years with a Roku stick and a Fire stick for streaming. I bought an Android TV for Black Friday - will it completely replace both the Roku stick and Fire stick? Or do they have something that won't be available on an Android TV?
