    Ever since the redesign from a couple of weeks ago, I cannot load any external subtitles. Whenever I choose select subtitle file, VLC either crashes or a window overlay says loading sits doing nothing. Is there any fix for this?

    Is there a good alternative to VLC? I'm not looking for a media library app like Plex or Kodi, just a simple media player that has subtitles support and can increase play speed.

    DAE think it's pretty ridiculous Google never updated the Android TV app, even when Google TV came out?

    I'm stuck using an app from 2014 to control my shiny new Google TV and it doesn't even fit on the screen of my Pixel 4, not to mention that it's still using Android 4.0 home buttons.

    The Google TV itself is fantastic but why not update the app?

    Google TV with Chromecast - Missing Tabs

    Just got a Google TV with Chromecast device. I seem to be missing the 'For you / Movies / Shows' tabs on the main screen. All I have is 'Search / Home / Apps / Library'.

    Anyone have the same issue? Any fix?

    Help with Chromecast.

    So basically my google TV when paired to my bose solo soundbar plays everything except select content from disney+ when I play iron Man 3 or the nat geo content it just doesn't play audio. But with atleast iron Man 3 when I opt for the English with commentary audio it plays that. I did the chat with a google rep and he told me to reboot the device and its still the same issue.

    Any advice?

    How can I stop popups when using Firefox?

    I had been watching live sports using web browsers directly on my TV but ever since PuffinTV became a subscription I had to find a new way to stream live sports. Puffin was good because it would ask me if I wanted to go to the next page (aka as me if I wanted to open a pop up) and I could just say no. With Firefox the pop up just opens automatically and worse yet it doesn't open a new tab it just goes to the pop up so when I go back to the video I am trying to watch a new pop up has loaded for an endless cycle. How can I work around this, whether I can get past the puffin subscription, get a yes or no pop up prompt, have the pop up open in a separate tab, or anything else?

    Video image live zoom/crop

    Hello,

    Could someone advise on an app/function that allows zooming in/cropping out part of the image? I just bought a sony OLED and saw a video on avoiding OLED burn-in by cropping out static logos & info bars. This was built in to LG, but can't find it anywhere with Sony/AndroidTV.

    Budget: Android TV Box + Steam Link... Questions Before Buying

    I am looking for an Android TV box that has built in ethernet and can offer SteamLink without any input lag. Is any Android TV box with Android 9 adequate enough or am I looking for something in particular in terms of the hardware?

    Best TV for sports?

    What is the best TV to watch sports on? I am a Samsung person but got talked into the Sony x900H and I realized some blurry viewing Ball Flickers in the air when watch football etc. How can I fix that? if not what TV should I be looking at

    Kayo sports android TV box compatibility

    Hey fellow Aussie users just wanted feedback on Android TV boxes that run Kayo natively (through Google Play store). To cut a long story short, my brother in law was using a Foxtel now box but this has dropped the Kayo app. He enjoyed the user interface and controller rather than chromecasting but is in no way into Android or tech and needs a simple, "just works" solution.     Hi, I know most of you already know that you can use the Button Mapper app to change the behaviour of the pointless Netflix and YouTube buttons on the new chromecast remote. But that is a (relatively) expensive solution at a cost of £3.49.

    Today I found a free, Open Source app that does the job just as well (if not better!)

    The app is in the Play Store, but not in the Android TV store, so you'll need to side load it using your preferred method (I install on my phone, then use x-plore file manager to copy to the chromecast).

    It is a little fiddly to setup using the remote control, but is possible and does work.

    I'm using my Netflix button as Play/Pause, which is annoyingly missing from the remote!

    Dear xiaomi: testing updates on at least one device for at least one day, is that hard?

    Got the android 9 update on my xiaomi mibox 3.

    It has again the same annoying bugs that plagued the mibox on Android 7, after a few hours the box will freeze and it won't be possible to wake it up anymore, need to reach the back and unplug it

    It happened on both my boxes

    I feel they just pressed compile and then pushed without testing

    As per title, I'm looking for a discreet internet speed overlay apk/widget for sony bravia android tv, that will preferably only show the live download speed and that can positioned as required on the screen. Thanks in advance.

    Help me side load stadia

    Hey guys. I got stadia sideloaded onto my Google TV and I'm stuck at the first screen asking me to sign in. I've got a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard that uses a USB dongle, two PS4 controllers and a Stadia controller.

    I don't fancy waiting until 2021 to play on my Google TV, please help!

    Need help and advice, android TV with internal hard drive.

    Years ago I had a patriot brand streaming TV box that could hold a hard drive inside it.

    Now I'm looking to give some friends a Christmas gift of an Android box. They have crave, and netflix, but I'd love for the box to play media files. I was hoping to find one that could hold a regular sized hard drive as I have a few spare. (internally with SATA) I also need it to have wifi. It doesn't need to be 4k or 8k, the tv it's attaching to isn't that great. Any recommendations? I'm having trouble finding one.

    So what's the latest with the new chromecast with android tv? Worth it ?

    I have been on a fire stick tv for the last year as up here in Canada the latest Android tv from google was over 3 years old .

    As I do need another media device , and I understand Apple app is not available is there any other hiccups I should be aware of prior to purchase ?

    Crossed out circle comes up on the right when trying to change volume

    Just reset my Shield to try sort out some problems, now when I change the volume via IR it works just fine but the screen is displaying a little grey crossed out circle on the right hand side every time I push a volume button?

    I downloaded smart YouTube tv but i want to use the YouTube button on my remote but the button takes me to the regular YouTube app with ads. Anyway to make the YouTube button open up smart YouTube tv instead of default YouTube?
