Weekly Questions Thread - October 19, 2020 Posted: 19 Oct 2020 03:56 AM PDT This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we suggest checking the sidebar, the wiki, our Discord, or Stack Overflow before posting). Examples of questions:
Important: Downvotes are strongly discouraged in this thread. Sorting by new is strongly encouraged. Large code snippets don't read well on reddit and take up a lot of space, so please don't paste them in your comments. Consider linking Gists instead. Have a question about the subreddit or otherwise for /r/androiddev mods? We welcome your mod mail! Also, please don't link to Play Store pages or ask for feedback on this thread. Save those for the App Feedback threads we host on Saturdays. Looking for all the Questions threads? Want an easy way to locate this week's thread? Click this link! [link] [comments]

Is there API to work with user's apps library? Posted: 19 Oct 2020 07:34 AM PDT There are many apps that can manage apps that currently installed on device. But I haven't found a single app in Google's Play store that can manage user's apps library (accessed via "My apps & games -> Library" in Play Store app). By "manage" I mean view, sort, filter. Play Store app can only show these apps in one list and sort it by alphabet or installed date. You can view your library in the web here. But without any means to sort it or filter. I wasn't been able to find an API for accessing this library. I mostly get results of code libraries, may be it's just that I can't google well enough? [link] [comments]

Posted: 19 Oct 2020 07:31 AM PDT I'm a trying to learn how to storage data locally with Room I see that it's built on SQLite that also is related to SQL and I don't understand anything of this. Posted: 19 Oct 2020 04:57 AM PDT Don't know if this is the place but anyone played with in-app updates. For testing they say on step 3 On the test device, only click the internal app-sharing link for the updated version of your app and do not install. Why is this step necessary and should I suppose when I upload it to prod that users will click on the app page and not click update to be shown this dialog? [link] [comments]
