| Random Facebook messenger notification about call in progress. Posted: 12 Oct 2020 08:57 AM PDT Hello this is my first time posting to this sub Reddit. I also don't expect a response but here goes. So this has been concerning me for a bit. I leave my phone charging and unattended for 10 minutes and I return to see a phone icon on my notification tray. I long press and hold and it says it's from Facebook messenger. The notification says call in progress but no one I know has tried to ring me. The notification was blank with just a small text at the top saying call in Progress. No hang up button and who it was with, just there almost blank. Should I be worried or not? My worry is hacking. I did have a call earlier today via my mobile network however. But the other end hung up. apart from that i haven't even used the web browser and I have checked my desktop that I connected my phone to for malware but again nothing. After seeing this notification I tried clicking on it to see if it took me to the call but nothing happened and I promptly rebooted the device then checked the play store for updates and apparently there was and went through the updates. Is it just a bug with messenger or something else? [link] [comments] |

Basically I have a Chrome OS tablet that I like to game on, but it's a bit clunky to be tilting all the time for racing games. Is there some way to use the motion data from my Android phone to control the game on the tablet? | Whatsapp restore error on new phone, stucks at %24 Posted: 12 Oct 2020 12:42 PM PDT My old phone is mi5s plus xiaomi New phone is red mi note 9 pro. I both uploaded to drive and put to local. Then put to pc and get from pc to red mi note 9 pro. I tried everything here: I have problem at %31 or %24 while restoring. I disable wifi, skip drive backup restoration and make it to read from local. It says "restoring messages" and at %31 , it stops. Sometimes at%24. There is only crypt file. Please help me to fix. Size is 1.25 gb but whatsapp shows 3.9 gb to restore. in whatsapp folder, there is 3.9 data. [link] [comments] |

I updated to Android 11 before having a chance to see if these issues were present before the update. With the rotate issue, I turned on auto-rotate and even changed a setting in advanced setting for all apps to rotate but my screen WILL NOT rotate in any app. To be clear, I've never seen this screen rotate. Is there a way to test the gyroscope? In youtube, the video is slightly darkened because the play pause button in the center of the video won't go away. I clicked pause and play to see if it would go away but still no luck. Not sure if Pixel is a shit phone, it it was incorrectly repaired, or if the update is fucked. [link] [comments] |

One month later (and till date) when I open the app a message comes up that says, "Thanks for updating, Lens will be available soon. Please try again later." The app worked fine before. | GPS defaulting to wrong location on Huawei P20 Pro on Android 10 Posted: 12 Oct 2020 11:42 AM PDT Hi I've had my Huawei P20 Pro for a couple of years and the GPS has always been great until recently when it always defaults to the wrong location. So if I don't use any GPS based apps for a few hours and then go onto Google Maps, the location shows up for a couple of seconds (presumably cached) and then the location switches to a few hundred miles away. It's always the same location that it defaults to. This location will have a large blue radius around it covering 5 miles or so. If I leave Google Maps (or Strava, or a similar app) open for a while (5-10 minutes) it'll eventually lock onto the right location. I'm not sure exactly when this issue started, but I think it was either when I upgraded to Android 10 or when I switched to a new mobile network. My EMUI build is 10.0.0.171, which I believe is the latest. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

She hasn't backed anything up like ever and has 5 years worth of pics and stuff on there. It boots, receives calls and I can get it into recovery mode. The screen itself has lost touch functionality so I cannot unlock it and the display is broken in some spots but I can see enough to hopefully pull some data from the internal memory. Im an iphone guy, not super familiar with android. Is there any way I can pull the internal data, pictures, memos etc onto a computer via USB or otherwise? When we go on long on car trips, my dad activates the hotspot on his Galaxy S9 Plus so that my brother can connect to the internet. For a long time it worked fine but all of a sudden, the Tab says that the hotspot is out of range. My Galaxy S7 Edge can connect to it fine though. What's going on and how do we fix it? There are three IMG files I want to delete, but the Recent folder doesn't allow one to delete them. I can't find the location path either. When I do a search of the files via name, I can't find them. | Best app to transfer Itunes playlists/songs to android phone? Posted: 12 Oct 2020 08:55 AM PDT I looked up to see if this was asked and the closest one was 8 months old, archived and no answers. i have the Galaxy Flip Z phone. I have Itunes with 11,000 songs and about 100 playlists. I researched and downloaded Double Twist for my phone & CPU. The first time I got it to work, it transferred every song and every playlist flawlessly. (took like 8 hours). Since then, I added some songs and playlists and it screwed everything up.. the way it is set up, if you don't click everything it will only sync what you selected and summarily remove anything you didn't select. The problem is, when selecting everything so it adds the new, it tries to add all the other songs and playlists again. The end result? 99% of my playlists have 0 songs in them. All 11,000 are on the phone and if I select 'Songs' instead of 'Playlists', I could listen to them all, but I'd have to redo all the playlists on the phone (yet, it worked the first time) So, last night I deleted my entire collection off the android phone and cleared out Double Twist. In less than 30 minutes it added all the songs and all the playlists back, and when I saw the last playlist added, I figured It was done. But then, it started to REMOVE things as part of the sync process. Thinking it could be a cache or back up or something, I let the sync process complete (another 40 minutes). The end result? The only playlists were the seven I had created in Itunes before the initial redo and while all 11,000 songs were on the system, again.. 7 playlists only. So...even with a complete wipe of the android music folder and the DT playlists on android.. it simply won't reload all 100 playlists and associate the songs with them.. even though it worked initially. So... to make a long story short (too late).. is there any other programs I can look into that have had a better success (and long term) rate for adding songs and playlists without having to do a complete redo every time? Or, if someone is using Double Twist and can help me find a solution, that will be good, too. Thank you. [link] [comments] |
| Will going from Android 10 to 11 break my Pixel 4a like 9 to 10 broke my original pixel Posted: 12 Oct 2020 08:28 AM PDT Currently using a Pixel 4a, build (QD4A.200805.003) It may seem like a stupid question, and I know that there's some functionality changes (bring back screenshot on the power button!), but seriously. When I went from 9 to 10 on my original Pixel it was a death sentence for my phone. The light sensor borked and I eventually moved on to the 4a. As a secondary question, if I decide to wait a while before upgrading, is there any way to stop the daily system pop-up asking me to upgrade? I've got automatic updates disabled, but every day I get a full screen message telling me my system is "out of date". I'm not a luddite still using Windows XP and angrily shouting at clouds whenever a UI changes, but I'm feeling a little cautious after my last experience. I'm not particularly interested in rooting the phone. I have enabled developer mode, cause I like changing the delay time between screens. TIA [link] [comments] |

I don't have google pay (as in not available, cannot install, not an option); and my bank has one application, and a food service app has it's own. They both allow to pay through NFC, but my bank application always always always takes priority, and it has no "off switch". Is there an OS way of telling an application to "fuck off" ? Thus, when using VLC in full screen mode I see the white line. My navigation bar is customized to always be black, so when it is active I no longer see the white line. There are navigation bar customization apps that allow you to keep the navigation bar always present but overlay and disrupt what is taking place on the screen since the app is in fullscreen mode. | Helium backup doesn't recognize that I'm in PTP mode. Posted: 12 Oct 2020 06:23 AM PDT I'm trying to back up my note 9. I need to use Samsung Pay so I can't root my phone. That leaves me to use Helium, not Titanium. I've done this with every phone I've owned so I know the process well. But this time it's not working. I installed ADB drivers. I installed the Helium app on my desktop. I tried that as well as the Chrome app. I installed Helium on my phone. USB debugging is enabled. I switched the USB setting to "Transferring Images" from "Transferring files / Android Auto." I tried uninstalling the app, clearing the data, and the cache. Restarted several times. And no matter what I do, Helium keeps insisting that I need to enter my phone into PTP mode. And obviously I'm running the app on the desktop too. And yes obviously I've tried other cables and every usb port. It works for my s8 fine. Helium hasn't been updated in some time but I know more than a few people have had no problem using it to back up their note 9 phones. But there have been some software updates for the note 9. When Helium was still actively being developed, when you pulled up the USB Settings panel, you'd have MTP and PTP options to switch between. These now read "Transferring files" and "Transferring Images." Surely that can't be the reason why it's not working, right? It should be in PTP mode, even though it's not labeled PTP. The explorer window that pops up only lets me get photos so it seems clear that my phone is in PTP mode. But Helium doesn't recognize it. Can anyone help me to figure this out? What's going on?
