I picked up an LG Stylo 6 and was blown away how slow it is. Even just scrolling on the home screen there is noticeable stutter on the screen. Basic tasks like web browsing have noticeable lag as well. Now I know this isn't a top end phone, but I can't believe in 2020 that a phone with an octa core processor and 3gb of RAM can't even handle basic tasks without slowing down. These specs are comparable to a Galaxy Note 3 or 4 from a few years back, and those phones were blazing fast in their generation so I don't understand why phones nowadays with similar specs are so slow. | Lock screen freeze time travel? Posted: 23 Oct 2020 11:58 AM PDT Tl;Dr-- probably just want to read.. I've tried googling and didn't find anything like this, haven't called straight talk yet due to this is the only phone i have access to right now. LG Rebel 4(yes the cheapest from Wal-Mart haha) Android 8.1.0(checked for updates; none) Straight Talk Had phone since January I just reinstated service yesterday(last day of service was the 10th of October) and Straight Talk says to restart the phone to make sure both data and call/text is working properly. So I did.. And then my phone became a dissociative time traveler. When it got past the start up screens and on to the lock screen, it showed the date to be October 4th, 2020 and the time to be 1:30pm(actual was October 22nd, 2020 and 7:30pm). Oh, and it showed the service bar as having no services. And I couldn't do anything. Couldn't use the power/lock button to turn the screen off, or swipe up to enter my pin. I was able to use the power button to turn the phone on tho. Eventually the screen would go black but I couldn't use the button to turn the screen on again. I originally pulled the battery like 7 times before turning on Skyrim and just forgetting about it, leaving it on, hoping it just needed to charge or something But it eventually worked itself out and it showed the correct date/time and I was able to swipe to enter my pin. And the service bars showed 4g Lte. The first time I got in, it did freeze I'm assuming due to all my notifications. So I pulled battery, and restarted. Same thing. If I give it like 3 or 4 minutes, it will correct itself. I just restarted my phone again before coming to reddit to post, and again, if if waited it just worked itself out. I'm worried that maybe one time I restart it, it won't with itself out. I did notice some green/pink ghost lines(??), but only when it got to 5% and only when I scrolled. This stopped immediately when I plugged in the charger. My phone hasn't gotten that low since so it hasn't happened since. Dunno if this is a side effect of the main problem, or a different problem altogether. Note: none of these issues ever happened before yesterday, when I turned the phone off and back on after renewing service. Thank you in advance! I tried disabling ads as much as my system will let me and turning off autoplay for videos (which didn't seem to stop them from autoplaying). I have a Motorola G4 Play running Android version 7.1.1. I'm not a power user of my phone, and I don't use the messages app often aside from an occasional family group text. | Apps not working on WIFI but works on mobile Data Posted: 23 Oct 2020 08:50 AM PDT What I am currently using and what other devices the problem has been reported on: I'm using a LG V60 ThinQ 5G but the problem is recurring after upgrading from my LG V30. The V60 is running android 10 and I'm in Canada with Koodo as a carrier and Videotron as a home internet provider with a 140Mbit/s plan and unlimited data. The V30 on the other hand was running Android 9 and service was provided by Bell. The problem also seemed to appear on one of my sister's pixel phones, either the 2 XL or the 3a XL when triying to use Tinder at my place, i don't remember which one exactly and she is also with Koodo. My dad, who owns a iPhone XR, has never witnessed any of these issues. Now what the problem is: Basically, certain number of apps simply do not work and some others work poorly on WIFI. It can vary from the app simply not loading to the app taking significantly taking longer to load, requiring multiple restarts of the app in order to load or apps needing mobile data to load but can be used to partially with WIFI once it is re-enabled. I will provide a list of apps showing the issues and describing their issue. The odd part is that the problem can vary from one wifi network to the other. My home WIFI being home to most of these problems and my work WIFI showing some of these and with varying effects. Some networks such as the one at my sister's apartment works completely fine so even tough it seems like it is a Wi-Fi/Network issue, the issue is only manifested on android phones and multiple ones. The issue is really important to fix since most Canadian service providers either do not offer unlimited data plans or offers them for a ridiculous price that really only a someone making over 200k a year could afford. What apps work and don't work: Hopefully some one who knows how these apps are coded may see a pattern in the one that works and the ones that don't. perhaps bringing us closer to a solution

My phone's (Galaxy j5) screen is completely broken. I want to simply get some pictures back from the phone. All the "manuals" how to do it do not make much sense for me, as they require enabled USB debugging (of which I learned only now) or need to enable data transfer mode for USB connection. Both things of course cannot be enabled, because the screen is broken (and literally almost every manual describing how to get back stuff from phone with broken screen has pictures of enabling functions with working smartphone screen -_-)! The ability to pull down the notification shade, press and hold on the Bluetooth button, and select the two Bluetooth devices I often have to connect to, was always really easy. my car doesn't have Bluetooth audio natively, but does support Bluetooth phone connection for calls. So I always have to connect to two different Bluetooth devices in my car. For some reason it only connects to both devices automatically 75% of the time. The rest of the time I have to pull down the shade go to settings, click Bluetooth, then select the one that it decided not to connect to. This was obviously much easier when I was able to just press and hold the button and see all the options there from the shade. am I missing something? Is there no way to get this capability back?
