Amazing looking Digimon game coming soon to Android

    Posted: 13 Oct 2020 09:25 AM PDT

This an absolutely smashing looking Digimon fan game I've only learnt about recently. It'll apparently be releasing soon after being developed for over 10 years, and I honestly can't wait. Going to be all sprite work based and has 375 characters alone. Going to be a mix of traditional Vpet and combat it seems, have look at the links for a better idea. Going to be releasing on Android and PC on itch.io and possibly Google Play.

You can keep up with the project on the creators Twitter and Facebook. You can see some gameplay footage and sprite work.

    Razer kishi not working properöy

    Posted: 13 Oct 2020 06:34 AM PDT

So I got the Razer Kishi the other day to try some cloud gaming. All the reviews were solid so I had no reason to be skeptical. Only issue is, it does not work with any game or any cloud service for me.

I'm using it with a OnePlus 8 Pro with the latest Android 11. OTG is on and according to the Kishi app,I'm running the latest firmware for the device.

It works on the home screen on my phone. That's it. Nothing else works. If you guys have any clue what might be the problem please hit me up.

Replacement for Blade XLord, Star Ocean Anamnesis, and Mobius Final Fantasy?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2020 07:34 AM PDT

I downloaded Blade XLord as a replacement for Mobius Final Fantasy when that shut down. Mobius Final Fantasy was my replacement for Star Ocean Anamnesis when that shut down. Now, Blade XLord is shut down as well! I'm not able to find a suitable replacement for it, either. What should I move on to play next, especially since I want a game that is roughly the same experience?

Just to make sure a suitable game can be found, here's what I liked about all three games:

    • Portrait mode gameplay (note: not taking suggestions for games that only support landscape mode)
    • Console-level 3D graphics
    • Stage-based progression
    • Recognizable characters (Star Ocean, Mobius)
    • Awesome events (Star Ocean, Mobius)
    • Good translation of console-style gameplay to one-handed portrait mobile controls (Star Ocean)
    • Story is focused on an original character, not a generic "oh all the old characters are here too, how mysterious, let's find out why" plot (Mobius)
    • Overnight grinding mode (XLord)
    • Character models show multiple, extremely expressive facial expressions throughout cutscenes that are fully rendered in 3D (XLord)
    • Every character has their own fully fleshed out side-story that is unlocked as you progress through the main story and level those characters (XLord)

I currently have $3.36 in my Google Play balance, so that's as much as I'm able to pay at the moment, if I really have to.

[REQUEST] Games with a high production quality like Genshin Impact, Monster Hunter Stories, Dragon Quest VIII, Final Fantasy 15 PE?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 08:44 PM PDT

Hey guys, I'm looking to majorly update my game list for android, so I need some android native games that are really high quality productions that you guys think would fit on a "handheld console." I've already listed Genshin Impact, Monster Hunter Stories, Dragon Quest VIII, Final Fantasy 15 PE above and they're really good examples of what I'm looking for. They all have:

    1. Single player
    2. Lots of stuff to do other than just story mission after story mission, like crafting, or collecting, or learning about other characters through side missions, etc.
    3. Engaging stories that make you want to complete the games once you've gotten into them, not just mission dumps through text that you just want to mash tap your screen to get through so you can go fight the next boss.
    4. (optional) 3 graphics (Not a requirement but I'm also not really interested in Android versions of 30 year old 2d square enix/capcom games that weren't really altered in anyway to make it more playable by todays standards. For example I love Stardew Valley and the World Ends with You android ports if you're going to suggest 2d games.)

Some things I'm not really looking for too much are as follows:

    • games without any real story
    • gacha games (I know Genshin is technically a gacha, but I played the entire game without spending a dime and didnt feel juked out of my time and thought the game was great anyways)
    • one specific genre, I like all types of games (I know I listed a bunch of action/jrpgs but the only reason I listed what I listed was because Asian companies seem to be taking the mobile market the most seriously I like strategy games, I like shooters, I like FPS games, I like racing games, etc. I just don't know of any serious single player ones on Android to list off to you guys that feel like they would fit on a handheld console, all of the ones I've tried and know about play like a run of the mill mediocre mobile game)
    • Indie games that I can also get on steam because I probably have them there or would just prefer to get them there.

Anyone know of anything in my ballpark? or is there a resource anyone can point me to that may have a big list of really high quality android games? Thanks in advance

Best RPG games that don't need much attention?

    Posted: 13 Oct 2020 01:24 AM PDT

Just got the new S20 FE and want a game to play.

Looking for something that basically plays itself and doesn't need much attention. Ideally an RPG or MMO-style game, even gacha elements are fine but I won't be putting any real money into it ever.

    What's good/ popular right now?

    Thanks!

Looking for advice: Wanting to add a controller set-up. NVIDIA Shield K1 no longer runs my games...

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 06:34 PM PDT

I was really big into War Robots back when it was WWR. I never got the BlueStacks/Computer set up working but I did buy a NVIDIA K1 tablet that came with a controller. I lost interest in the game a few years back but now I'm super into a clone that cuts all the nonsense and is just more pure gameplay like I want.

I am playing directly on my Note 9 phablet. I tried installing the game on my K1 but it drops connections/input lags and I never could get the button mapping to work to even program the controller. I assume the K1 just lacks the muscle needed for mobile games of this kind. I cannot run WR on it, either.

I am considering buying something like a SteelSeries controller and running my Note 9 direct out to a larger monitor. Would this work?

Are there universal Android controllers that will allow button mapping with any game?

Is there a better solution I'm not considering? Basically I just want to play on a bigger screen with a controller.

Simple pick up and play games I can stop anytime in case something came up?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2020 08:36 PM PDT

Two good examples of this are Steppy Pants (one button control, portrait, fast start, fast quit, abundant checkpoints) and Radical Rappelling (same pros as Steppy Pants, though different gameplay).

    but

Steppy Pants has gone to shit with crapton more ads, even buggier experience (slow loading, lag, etc.), and change from single purchase to subscription system for ad removal

Radical Rappelling no longer on Play Store, I can't find it even after looking at Halfbrick's "All Apps" section.
