My Nokia 4.2 has been blocking all incoming calls from one contact that isn't on my block list

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 06:12 AM PDT

I have no blocked numbers on my phone, but for some reason whenever my girlfriend calls me it sends her straight to voicemail and then when I check my phone log it says blocked call.

This has happened to other android users but I haven't seen a solution online. https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-5/619142-help-why-my-incoming-calls-being-blocked.html

If anyone has a solution other than a factory reset, that would be great! Thank you!!

What does it take to configure an ethernet eth0 device on samsung galaxy s9? Working internet hosts? DNS requests being answered?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 01:37 AM PDT

I have an usb ethernet adapter which is recognized by the S9. Now I want to give it an IP address in order to be able to communicate with an other ethernet device out in the wild where there is no network or other infrastructure, and the devices would just communicate using their hard coded IP addresses.

However the S9 refuses to accept my configuration and does not bring the interface up.

What are the prerequisits of the S9 accepting the ethernet configuration and setting the interface to UP? How can i fake those prerequisits to be able to configure my eth0 and receive packages on my IP address?

    App recommendations...number count down

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 12:38 PM PDT

    Hi,

I am after an app which I can use as a widget on my Samsung s9 which can count down numbers rather than to a date.

I am running 100km next month and I want to be able to see clearly how much I have to do in October.

All the count down apps I have found are just to a date but I need to be able to manually enter how far I have run and it works down to 0.

    Any one got any suggestions?

    Thanks

My Oukitel C 16 has been terlling me that my mobile network is unavailable.

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 12:23 PM PDT

This started happening a few days ago. My phone, which is an Oukitel 16 Pro, has started showing this particular problem only recently. My WIFI connection works perfectly, but whenever I try to call someone it says ''Mobile Network is Unavailable.''

In fact, the signal bars aren't even visible at all.

I restarted the phone several times and even switched the SIM card from Sloth 1 to Sloth 1, but nothing changed.

I went a little further and checked the properties and it says that that the Mobile Network is Disconnected.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Pixel 2 Alarm set to 0 (minimum)?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 11:57 AM PDT

For some reason and to my horror, I missed 5 alarms on my phone today to wake up on time. For some reason the alarm volume was set to 0. How can this happen when no one else touches my phone? Is there a way the rocker can ever change the volume of the alarm itself? I never go into the volume settings where you can independently change the volumes (Media, Ring, Alarm , etc). Is this an OS glitch? I've had this similar thing happen numerous times now.

Game pad reversed when connected to HDMI?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 11:45 AM PDT

Any punts at whether this is a controller hardware issue or an android bug? When I connect my device to an HDMI TV, all the bindings get flipped! It's as if I've turned the TV upside down. I've tried auto rotation without any luck. If my phones screen is one way or the other there's no different on the HDMI TV. The controller inputs are still hitting happening at the top not the bottom...

Is there a reason why I should prefer to use wireless charging rather than a cord?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 11:20 AM PDT

I got my first phone capable of wireless charging, and I checked it out with a charging pad belonging to my father to make sure it worked on my phone, which it does. But wireless charging seems worse than normal wired charging - it's slower and you can't use the phone while it charges. While I know that better battery life is a good reason to prefer to use a charger that don't support fast charging, I don't see a reason to use a wireless charger rather than a normal charger and cord. Is there something I'm missing, or is wireless charging mostly a gimmick?

    Hey All,

I am trying to locate a file for the sound of an outgoing text from Android messages. I can't seem to find it through google, reddit, or zedge. Plenty of posts about it not working, but none about the sound itself. Can anyone help me :D?

    Thanks!

I don't have dark mode on, but also turned off adjusting it to dark mode, and I tried 3 different launchers if that could be the problem, but whatever I do, it looks like that. Any tips how to fix it?

Android 11 has been causing some frustrating issues with my Pixel 2XL...

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 08:51 AM PDT

First of all, I am very much not a technical person. I updated 3 or 4 days ago. I did not factory reset my phone beforehand, and would much rather not do that.

-Since downloading, the phone has just been chugging along, opening slowly.

-My phone will crash randomly (only twice) and I will have apps reboot out of nowhere.

-I will get random notifications that aren't actually connected to anything. My phone will just vibrate and make the same noise it does when connecting to the charger, out of nowhere.

-The most frustrating feature is that all of my alarms have updated to this terrible, low, shitty sound. Previously all of my alarms were set to songs from my PowerAmp app. Now they all say "the sound content cannot be accessed".

How can I preserve/save/lock an Android backup that's stored in Google drive?

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 07:07 AM PDT

I need to restore it again later, but hopefully it doesn't become overwritten by a newer backup that doesn't include all what I need from the first backup..

Why isn't there an obvious way to "save" the "good" backup?? Anyway to lock the "good" backup so I can use it on my own timing and keep it from disappearing sometime today?

Is there a way to direct copy everything (I'm talking settings, apps, data, everything) from one s9 to another.

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 06:31 AM PDT

I have a damaged phone screen and obtained another s9. Original is still usable.

Is there a way to, in essence, take the hard drive and settings and copy to the new phone. Just have the layout and apps and everything work the same rather then having to re-login to all the smart home stuff and music etc.

    Any help would be great

So far I have used Google backup and smart switch with some success but still lots of configuring left to do. Wondering if there is an easier way.

My shopping list is gone! I can only access the web version now?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 11:30 PM PDT

Today my wife tried to add an item to our shopping list and said the only way to get to it was via a web app.

This was just working fine on the weekend. Did they decide to remove the app and now we have to use the web version?

Huawei -- Downloads failing, gallery and download app crashing

    Posted: 28 Sep 2020 10:52 PM PDT

I think there must be a problem with how my huawei phone accesses its storage. I have plenty of space left, but when I try and download a file or even save a screenshot there's a decent chance the browser will crash or the screenshot won't save. Worse still, trying to access my files via the gallery or downloads apps don't work -- the gallery app crashes while the download app hangs on trying to load them. Has anyone encountered this or has any advice? Restarting does temporarily fix things but not for very long.

Bluetooth audio issues on Galaxy S9

    Posted: 29 Sep 2020 02:20 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Ever since the September security patch for Android 10 came in a fortnight ago, my Exynos S9 has had this weird audio issue for Bluetooth kick in.

It's best explained when using my Sennheiser headphones. When I hook them up with the audio cable, the sound is nice and loud at the higher end, and still clear enough to listen to at the lower end.

However, when I hook it up with Bluetooth, suddenly the volume basically cuts in half, and even when it's at the very top of the volume scale, it's not even half as loud as it was on cable.

I do have the "disable absolute volume" toggle turned on as I picked up elsewhere, but it doesn't seem to solve the issue. Does anyone have any ideas what's causing this?
