Posted: 10 Sep 2020 10:26 AM PDT I just updated to Android 10 a couple weeks ago and have been enjoying the dark mode a lot, but one thing that's been annoying is that screenshots show up in the notifications. In the picture linked, you can see I have screenshots unchecked in the system UI notifications, yet they still show up. I've already made sure that it's been unchecked and then restarted my phone a couple times the past couple days and they still show up. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 10 Sep 2020 01:26 PM PDT have a moto e4 plus i dropped to bottom of pool a week or so ago. worked for a while but screen finally died. took sim card out and put it in an old samsung phone. everything works ok except when someone sends me a text message i hear the notification of the text going to the phone that has no sim card in it. i can send texts fine from the old samsung with the sim. any ideas? I'm currently on Android 11 and was also on the last 2 betas and I've experienced this issue on all 3 versions. My phone randomly and constantly freezes out of nowhere and my only recourse is to hard reboot the device, sometimes up to 3 times. I've noticed that almost every time it does freeze, someone eventually reaches out to me asking why I never responded to their text message. Problem is, I never get them. The device freezes at almost the same time my phone is receiving texts and then they get lost in the mix. I'm on the latest stable. | How Do You Remove the Backgrounds on Icons? Posted: 10 Sep 2020 12:55 PM PDT They try to make every icon a square (that's fine) but every icon that isn't a square they put a white background over it, it looks awful. | Posted: 09 Sep 2020 11:21 PM PDT Hi, I need to change my network operator twice a day on my OnePlus 5T - Android 10. Since I'm living in europe and i have the Fair-use policy this would not be a Problem. Unfortunately my work place is bordering on switzerland so when i have automatic selection, it always changes to the swiss operator which costs me around 10 bucks per MB! So disabling Roaming is not an option, automatic operator change is not an option. Even Settings shortcuts are not an option since you cannot link to the right setting, not even the parent category. Is there any shortcut or possibility for a script i could write to change at least to the menu, it costs me around 10-15 mins per day which is, really unnerving for me. Thanks a lot. Have a nice day. Posted: 10 Sep 2020 12:18 PM PDT Hi everyone, New here as a poster/question-asker, but I've come here often to find answers to questions I had, so I thought I might as well go all-in and ask one myself. The title says it all, I think, but just in case: I have this Leagoo T5c smartphone that I bought on the cheap two and a half It's got a Spreadtrum-turned-Unisoc SC9853i-IA SoC. I'd like to upgrade the phone to a newer version of Android, but the information I got here and there about that is somewhat contradictory: Some people will say that all I have to do is root the device (been there, done that), then pick a ROM that's "widely compatible" with the SoC, when others will say that this SoC is a thing of its own, and I might as well just forget about upgrading or I'll find myself up poop creek in no time, flat. So, which is which? Is there anyone here who knows that phone, or another based on the same SoC (Panasonic Eluga Ray 800, I see you), who could give me some input here? [link] [comments] |

(Samsung Galaxy A5 2017) Posted: 10 Sep 2020 11:43 AM PDT Long story short, After trying to sort through my photos for a while with no success, I decided to just put them all on my PC and sort them that way, I've deleted them all from my phone and from Samsung Cloud so I can clear them all off from my phone and start afresh. So I've removed them all from my phone, however when viewing on Samsung Gallery app on my phone, I have 6 photos just greyed out with an ! on them, deleting doesn't work and they don't appear looking via my files. It exists in the notification settings, everything is enabled for them to work, but no icon appears in the notification shade next to the conversation. Has anyone had any luck with this? Another thing to mention is Facebook Messenger doesn't support it currently, though a lot of articles online mention it, but as far as I'm aware it's still in only the beta version? Cheers guys! | Posted: 10 Sep 2020 10:52 AM PDT I used this trick for old Android Firefox to change the download directory from the default folder to a folder of my choosing. It worked great as long as the folder I chose was on my internal storage. Downloads would fail when I chose a location on my SD card. I assume that's because Firefox doesn't have or ask for external storage access. Is there a way to force Android to give an app external storage access it hasn't asked for? Posted: 10 Sep 2020 10:44 AM PDT I recently jumped the hype and have experienced the 90hz screen of the realme 6. my experience so far has been disappointing. I find that alot of apps still doesn't support 90hz display and even scrolling through reddit or chrome gives me constant lag and stutters. Could just be a bad/unoptimized software but I find it useless at the moment that phones like the POCO X3 will come with a 120hz screen but you won't really get to maximize it. Not to mention the bad software from these brands. do you think a 90hz screen or higher is worth it at its current state? [link] [comments] |

I factory reset my phone in case anything had been installed on the user level, changed passwords, etc. but was wondering - is there a way to check to see if there's something on the OS level that's been modified?
