Posted: 23 Aug 2020 09:58 AM PDT I know my first mistake was using a debit card, but besides that, I am genuinely paranoid since I download a considerable amount of APK's, I never worried about the fact they could potentially steal my info since I never online shop or input private info on my phone, but today I had to make a quick purchase on drop.com, the website claimed to encrypt my info when inputting it and afterwards none of the info was saved or stored, could a malicious APK still steal my info regardless with a keylogger or something else? I am wanting to install Pixel experience for my s8+ exynos, this phone is my daily driver, is VoLTE necessary for normal function of the phone, ie: making and receiving calls? | Posted: 23 Aug 2020 10:34 AM PDT So i scanned my phone with virus total mobile and i only got these 2 possible malwares that i assume are false positive since only 1/63 Anti Viruses detects it and none of reliable AVs don't detect it and since both of these are system apps. Posted: 23 Aug 2020 09:30 AM PDT Using a Huawei Honor 10 lite, I believe the issue started a few system updates ago, when I'm looking at or scrolling down the feed, it'll randomly flash to the background colour and reset to the top, updating if anything new happens, it'll sometimes do this rapidly many times in a few seconds. Its happened with both Google Maps while driving, and Endomonto and Strava, which screws up my workout routes. | Samsung S20+ Screen turns white/flickers at high brightness Posted: 23 Aug 2020 08:10 AM PDT Hey guys. I'm posting this because it's the first time I've seen this happen on a Samsung phone, and looking it up online hasn't really yielded anything relevant. A few months ago, my mother got a brand-new Samsung S20+ and shortly after opening the box, the phone fell and cracked the screen but nothing else seemed to be wrong. It's been a while since that's happened and as far as I'm aware, the phone hasn't gone through any more physical stress. Suddenly (just today), the screen started to flicker in brightness or turn completely white (with a soft shade of green in the middle) and this effect would only occur outdoors. I noticed that covering the cameras fixed the issue so I assumed the auto-brightness might be bugged somehow and turned it off. Turns out it wasn't a problem with the auto-brightness adjuster but with the brightness itself. For some reason, setting the brightness of the screen above a certain threshold causes this issue. For now, my temporary fixes are dark mode enabled, and a constant brightness setting. I've tried doing a software update and I also looked around the developer settings for the "Disable HW overlays" option and turned it on, since I read online that it fixed a similar problem. It didn't work. Is anyone at all familiar with this issue? I was suspecting hardware issues at first but the top bar of the screen isn't really affected and it only happens under certain software conditions (then again, I'm no expert). I'm trying to figure out if this phone is going to require repair or if this sort of thing is even covered in warranty. Posted: 23 Aug 2020 03:42 AM PDT I've tried hard resetting to no avail, I've booted into recovery mode & wiped the data, did a disk check & all was good, I have no SD card so that's lost. As to how I got to this point - I have no idea, the best idea I have right now is I deleted an important component of the firmware using sdb? I deleted all google packages so perhaps that's something to do with it? It enters the boot screen, goes past the logo & ends up getting stuck on the gradient loading screen, every 1 second or so the screen will flicker black and return to the gradient. I can't tell if it's linked to a specific notification or app - I've tried disabling several... And yet it persists. So annoying when I've just had my phone unlocked and 2 seconds after I lock it... buzz out of nowhere. There's no sound with it, and no obvious notification, but it is slowly driving me nuts. | Recovering files with a broken touchscreen Posted: 23 Aug 2020 07:02 AM PDT So, a few days ago, I accidentally soaked my phone while wading into a pond after my fishing tackle box. i soaked it in some rice for a few days and that seemed to make everything better, although the display seemed a bit off, but it still worked. Well, today I wake up and the touchscreen isn't responding. I tried restarting a few times, but that didn't work. Say for example I'm listening to music on Spotify while I'm browsing Reddit, whenever a video comes up in the feed I get a slight stutter and the audio quality of the music drops. Once I scroll past, it changes back to normal. As you can probably guess, this is hella annoying. I've never experienced this before. I'm running a Realme 6 with the latest software. | My phone is having serious Wi-Fi issues Posted: 22 Aug 2020 03:20 PM PDT I need help. I don't know what to do anymore. I have a oneplus 6. My Wi-Fi connection keeps on cutting out and coming back on. I'd say this happens every 15 minutes or so and it just disconnect for a few seconds, but sometimes it can take up to a couple of minutes to get back online. For example, I'll be on my phone when it randomly gives me an exclamation mark or an X. I only notice this at my house, but here's the thing... I've lived in 2 homes in the past 5 years and I've had 4 different ISPs. It's the same thing Sometimes I can't connect to the chromecast at all. My Nexus 6P is solidly connected but not my oneplus 6.
