Is there an app for android that can split audio like the volume control in windows? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 09:26 AM PDT You know in windows how you can have different volume for example Spotify and games. Is this possible to do on Android? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Aug 2020 09:09 AM PDT So I've been on iOS basically since smartphones have been around. My first ever smart phone was one of the first androids, and I hated it. It ended up being sluggish, and that made me make the switch to iOS where I have been. I know that Android has for the most part surpassed Apple in a lot of ways. So I've been considering making the switch back over for a couple reasons. I plan on using XCloud, and GFN to stream games on mobile. Both services will most likely never be offered on iOS, and I'm not brand loyal to stick with Apple whatsoever. I don't see myself too interested in the note (I already have an iPad with a pen) and I feel like foldable screens are too new to jump into that trend. So are there any upcoming flagships to keep an eye out for that can replace my XR? I'd prefer clean UI that isn't cluttered with brand apps, and a solid camera. Screen refresh rate seems to be appealing to me as well. Pixel 4a seemed very clean, but it's also in the mid-tier range. I'd want something that's going to let me a good 4/5 years before I'm over it. Are there any phones on the horizon I should keep eyes on? [link] [comments]
How do you close so many open chrome tabs that the phone freezes if you hit "Close All Tabs" Posted: 09 Aug 2020 08:45 PM PDT (I hope this is the right place to ask this, my bad if it's not) Im trying to help a family member; I need to close all the tabs running on a google chrome app on an android. Unfortunately there are so many tabs open that you cannot hit "close all" without the app crashing. Closing them individually won't work because they've compiled a delay for closing each tab, the length of that delay being cumulative for each tab running >> without using hyperbole, in all seriousness, it would at least take literally an entire day, without rest, of swiping tabs closed to even approach the end; I tested this with several trial samples, and also scrolled through the tabs for several minutes without reaching the end. (Uninstalling/) Disabling then (reinstalling/) enabling the entire app does not elimate the problem; and neither does force closing the app or clearing its cache. How can I close all of these tabs? There are a terrifying amount and I'm somewhat stumped. [link] [comments]

Is there a way to have Home buttons + Back gesture? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 09:28 AM PDT I tried the gesture navigation, it's ok. I found the responsiveness to be temperamental, so I went back to buttons. But I miss the back gesture. [Moto g power 2020] [link] [comments]

Clicked phishing link, still strange behaviour of the phone after a reset Posted: 10 Aug 2020 12:52 PM PDT Hello, I recently clicked on a Phishing link in a mail from "my bank". The phone started to behave strange, especially instagram, as the app changed its font. To avoid any more damage i made a backup of the phone to google drive and reset it over the android recovery. But after a restore of the backup instagram is still missbehaving with the font (I compared it to pictures of a friends phone and online screenshots). Did anyone expirience similar behavior? I did another reset of the phone without backup and I am looking forward if the behavior occurs again. Thank you for your help :) [link] [comments]
SSL certificate not trusted error? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 06:47 AM PDT I woke up this morning to an error on my phone saying SSL certificate not trusted, even on popular websites like YouTube it says this, our WiFi bill needs to be payed as it's overdue and they've disconnected our services. Is this a problem connected to that or something else I have a galaxy s8 active [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Aug 2020 12:37 PM PDT My Samsung Galaxy J1 won't load beyond the loading screen that displays the Samsung logo. Understanding this as a software error, I did a factory reset but to no avail. Windows 10 won't even see the device as connected though it charges from USB. Yes I tried downloading the Samsung drivers, but it hasn't helped. Can anyone advise? [link] [comments]

Bootloop after encryption? Restoring backup Posted: 10 Aug 2020 08:43 AM PDT So my s6 edge RR rom decided to soft brick itself when I tried to encrypt the phone. I made a backup afterwards but seems like I can't backup it because its still doing the bootloop. Is there any way to restore the apps and system data? Or the whole backup is corrupted? Can I just restore everything but the boot partition in TWRP? [link] [comments]
Why do some apps work on ethernet and other only wifi? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 03:42 AM PDT Im testing out a USB-C to ethernet adaptor on my samsung a5 and it works well apart from two apps that will only work on wifi. One is a local news app and the other a wired IP cctv cam. Anyone come across this and have a work around? I assume the apps in question are just developed badly and are built to only connect to or scan wifi networks. [link] [comments]

| Google Keep reminders for multiple users Posted: 10 Aug 2020 11:24 AM PDT Is it possible to set up Google Keep reminders for multiple users? Essentially I want to have a recurring reminder to do household tasks that will pop up for everyone on their phones and once one person in the household has completed and marks it done the reminder will disappear until the next recurrence of it comes up again. | How to enable contacts suggestions for SwiftKey? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 11:21 AM PDT I recently installed SwiftKey keyboard and manually granted it the contacts permission, but I can't find any option to enable contacts suggestions. Where should I look for it? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:59 AM PDT Samsung Galaxy S10e, Android 10. The app AppMgr III has a function that will freeze apps. I am not clear on what freezing does, but apparently it stops the app from running. What confuses me is that I have found that any app I have installed and not run is listed in the frozen list. Also, apps that I haven't used for a few days are listed as frozen. This concerns me because of the info on Don't kill my apps. I have turned off all battery optimizations and such as per the site, so it seems to me that apps should not be frozen unless I freeze them specifically. Can anybody to shed any light on this? | Vibration after screen goes to sleep Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:59 AM PDT For the past week or so, my phone (Mi A2 Lite) running Android 10, seems to randomly give a small vibration just the screen goes to sleep. It doesn't happen all the time, it doesn't appear to be a notification, I've tried turning off the vibration settings I can see and it still happens, and I've done a factory reset. It is slowly driving me nuts. Any help or advice? [link] [comments] |
Is there a factory reset protection bypass for Pixel C? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:36 AM PDT My old neighbor threw a bag of old tech away a few days ago prior to moving, including a Pixel C tablet. Upon booting up, a screen asks for the email address that was previously used with the device. He's unreachable and I don't have credentials. Is there any way to salvage this device, or is it destined for e waste? [link] [comments]
Why does my photo get much darker when being snapped through IG/whatsapp with note 10+? Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:35 AM PDT I went to set an Instagram story of my bike ride and it is clearly sunny and bright right now, but when I go to snap the photo it goes from light to reslly dark. I also went to send a friend of what I was doing through whatsapp and I used the camera button and took a pic and when it snapped it got dark. I had to go through the actual camera app and take the photo, then send it from my gallery. Is there a problem with my phone or does this always happen? [link] [comments]

Issues relating to apps sent to sd card Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:07 AM PDT Hello there fellow users, i have been having this certain issue for a long time now. I bought an sd card to expand my storage, and im on android 6 marshmallow. When i send my downloaded apps to sd card, for some reason the data sticks to my phone, and even the app itself. But if i remove the sd card, the app is also removed. I am suffering from lack of storage, unless, im wrong about how move apps to sd card work? I work around would be appreciated, even if it requires root. I have currently tried using lucky patcher move to sd card but even that fails. Thanks in advance for all the tips! [link] [comments]
Help! Bluetooth devices won't connect Posted: 10 Aug 2020 10:01 AM PDT I got a new phone because my previous one stopped connecting to new devices. I got my new phone and imported everything over Google and had the same issue. It'll sit and say pairing and then just popup and say couldn't connect due to pin or passkey being wrong. So I think I must've carried over some setting from my last phone and do a factory reset. It works and I get connected to my car and a couple other things. Now a couple days later I'm in the gym trying to connect to my speaker and I get the same issue. Try my headphones and still the same. It's not popping up to ask to allow the connection or something. And I can't find any setting that would block this. [link] [comments]
| I've had a pixel 3 phone (the regular) for a year and a half.. Posted: 10 Aug 2020 09:56 AM PDT And although I love the software and the way it runs, it's battery suffers major. And with the charging port being 100% broken, I can only wirelessly charge it, which kills the fast charging feature. I have to charge it halfway through my day. The pain here is that i have a Pixelbook Go (laptop), PixelBuds 2 (wireless headphones 2020), some Google Homes scattered throughout my house, and the Google cast hooked up to my TV. My questions are: 1.) Should I wait for the Pixel 5? Or if I change to a different Android phone (like Samsung), will I lose out on any features of any of my Google products? 2.) Which Android phone would you recommend, if price point isn't an issue for me? All I really require is that the battery really lasts all day, with medium-heavy usage (Snapchat, YouTube, things like that. No gaming) I don't need 5G speeds. I do want a phone that runs smoothly though. I was looking at the standard Samsung Galaxy S20, but I'm willing to take recommendations!! To anyone who helps and read all of this, you're awesome!!
