HELP I clicked on a suspcious pdf linked to an email, what do I do now? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 03:41 AM PDT Positive it's a suspicious one, and I'm freaking out. I didn't download it, but was able to preview it when I clicked, and it looked like just a list of images on a PDF (I was on a housing site and it was emailed to me). No links attached within the .pdf and no information, but the email did want to me to proceed with a tenancy agreement immediately to provide my info, what should I do now to protect myself? I've changed my email password, but should I factory reset my pixel or something? [link] [comments] |
Can I prevent my android device from mounting one of two partitions on a uSB-C flash drive? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 09:42 AM PDT I recently got a new flash drive that can plug into both USB A and USB C ports. It's fantastic, and considering I work repairs in a computer shop, I wanted it set up as both a boot drive and a standard read/write flash drive. The problem is, every time I plug it into my phone, Android writes a LOST.DAT folder to both partitions of my flash drive. I really don't mind it much for my regular-use partition, but I really don't need my phone accessing my boot partition at all, let alone writing to it. Is there any way that I can "disable" Android from reading my boot partition when I plug my USB stick into my phone? Or am I essentially doomed to having to constantly delete LOST.DAT from my boot partition? Oh, and if possible, preferably root-free. Also, for hardware info, I'm running the most recent stock version of Android 10 on a Google Pixel 3a. I do have Tasker if that would help the process. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 Aug 2020 10:16 AM PDT A few weeks ago, I made a post here about an issue I was having where my phone keyboard would frequently collapse whenever I try to type a special character, but it didn't seem to get any attention. Since then, the problem has continued, and I occasionally get pop up windows that say that LG Keyboard has crashed when this happens. This can be hard to notice, since I'm usually in the middle of typing and accidentally tap the screen somewhere to close the popup as soon as it appears. I have cleared the cache and data for LG Keyboard, but this hasn't done anything to fix or even reduce this issue. I don't want to have to change keyboard programs, as the difference in typing would end up being even more disruptive than this bug, but I haven't found any other suggestions. Is anyone else familiar with this problem, or any solutions for it? Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |

How do I make SBC my default Bluetooth codec on Android 9 (LG V30) Posted: 25 Aug 2020 12:31 PM PDT Every time I connect my Bluetooth headset, I have to change the Bluetooth codec from ACC to SBC. Is there a way to make SBC my default codec without needing to change ACC? I use a LG V30 in Android 9 [link] [comments] |
Gmail has "undo send" feature, does "undo call" exist on android? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 12:23 PM PDT Hey all, today i absentmindedly accidentaly called someone. I hung up as soon as i saw the screen go into call mode, ~0.5 seconds in, and thought that was that. Apparently it still went through, thankfully it was just to my mom. It got me wondering if there exists a function that holds the phone in call screen but doesnt actually start to ring the other person until ~5 seconds? [link] [comments] |

How can I use wireless earbuds to use Google assistant? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 12:11 PM PDT Aka, I could be in another room than my phone and say Hey Google into the wireless Bluetooth earbuds I'm wearing, and then hear the answer to any command I ask e.g. what time is it. My earbuds have built in mics. [link] [comments] |
Google Photos and albums synchronisation Posted: 25 Aug 2020 11:45 AM PDT I have a shit ton of photos on my phone and I want to move them to Google Photos. I've synced it up and it seems to have uploaded all of my photos, but the issue is it only registered about half of the albums I have (I have about 60 albums). Is there a way to get it to "realise" I have more? I've found no pattern regarding which albums it picked up on. [link] [comments] |

My LG Journey is Charging Slowly Posted: 25 Aug 2020 07:37 AM PDT Hi all, I have an LG Journey, and up until probablya a few weeks ago everything was fine. Then, I noticed it was changing very shortly, to the point where I can't even use it at anything other than basically the lowest brightness, with the most battery-saving settings (Everything off except whatever I need at the time). I've been using various chargers, and it usually charges at about 3.5 V to 3.9 V, and 100 to 300 milliamps. It will occasionally go up to the chargers' rated speed, but it goes right back down to the slower speeds. I'm mainly using a charger I got delivered Amazon yesterday, and a OnePlus Dash Charger (now called OnePlus Warp Charge), rated at 5 V 2.1 A, and 5 V 4 A respectively. Atfirst I thought that it might be an LG proprietary thing where they want you to use their charger, but my friend has the same phone and I've tested hers, and it doesn't do the same thing. The only other thing I can think of is to factory reset it, but I don't see how/if that would help. Regardless, I'm gonna try it when it gets too 25%, because it won't let me before that. Any thoughts or advice on this? I appreciate any help. 😊 Here's some screenshots I took as reference: [link] [comments] |
Remotely removing reset protection for a phone I no longer have access to Posted: 24 Aug 2020 08:30 PM PDT Is there really no way of removing Reset Protection remotely, without physically typing in your Google username and password into the phone? On an iOS device you'd just sign into Find My iPhone, and remove the device using a web browser. I returned a company phone to our headquarters and apparently reset protection was still enabled. Now they are asking for my Gmail username and password because they can't pass the phone along to another employee without it. Is there really no way I can do this remotely for them, so I don't have to hand over control of my account? Note: I'm not asking how to remove reset protection illegitimately. I still have access to the original account that it's configured with. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Aug 2020 10:28 AM PDT Game launcher recorder always says "can't record, mic is in use" and I was wondering if there are any ways to use the screen recorder feature while still able to communicate with my friends [link] [comments] |
How do you silence one number? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 10:20 AM PDT I know how to make it so only certain contacts will ring through when the phone is in Do Not Disturb, but how do you do the opposite of that? I have a test number that sends me coupons that I want every couple days, but I wish they wouldn't notify me and basically just get silently added and maybe even marked as read? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Aug 2020 01:07 AM PDT My friend has a Moto G5s plus running Android 8.1.0 and his phone automatically reset itself this morning and lost a lot of files. Is there anyway to recover the files? [link] [comments] |
My phone just stopped connecting to my work wifi... and it's the only one i can't connect to Posted: 25 Aug 2020 09:50 AM PDT I was gone from work for 3 weeks and came back and my phone will not stay connected to the wifi. It will connect for like, a minute when I first arrive, or disconnect and reconnect, but then it just disconnects. I have no problem connecting and staying connected to other networks. I have an LG G8. Other devices at work, like our iPad and laptop, are connected. The network is hidden, I don't know if that is why I am having issues. But I did not change any settings on my phone in the time I was gone. I have tried forgetting the network and reconnecting (with all the setting options, mostly because I don't know what they mean. Like wep and wpa2-psk.) I have also tried unplugging the router to see it that helped, it did not. I called our IT department and they had no ideas. Nothing is working! Please help! Can you change the color of app icons on the S20 Ultra? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 09:21 AM PDT Just replaced my aging s7 and one thing that stood out immediately was the literally rainbow of colors on the default apps. I like minimal displays, and I'm curious if there's a way to adjust the colors of these icons (phone for example is green with white icon). I messed with a few minimal icon packs from the theme page but they all had one weakness or another, so it seems to me the easiest method would just be color coding icons to my own standard. Phone won't start or charge, turned off randomly Posted: 25 Aug 2020 08:47 AM PDT Hi, my phone(J7 crown) was working fine for awhile and then it just completely shut down while I was listening to music. Did it just die out of the blue? It will not turn on, and will not charge, I've tried both the power button on its own and power + volume. I've also blown on the buttons. It's about 1 1/2 years old. Faster Charging with Power/Audio Splitter? Posted: 25 Aug 2020 08:44 AM PDT I just upgraded from a Pixel 2 XL to the Pixel 4a and again noticed weird behavior from my audio/power usb c splitter - when the cable is directly plugged into either phone (2 XL or 4a), the lockscreen reports that its 'Charging slowly', however if I plug in the splitter (which i no longer need since the 4a has a 3.5mm), the lockscreen reports that its 'Charging rapidly'. Additionally, looking at AccuBattery, the charge current doubles with the splitter and Average charge speed goes from 11-12%/h to 30-100%/h. Any reason the splitter would make it charge faster? Is it because it doesn't have to power an audio cable through the same port? Thanks [link] [comments] |
