- Files are disappearing from my OnePlus Nord after one week
- Just did my first reset on my 3 year old Note 8. Backups not restoring fully. Anything to be done?
- When I go to apps and storage, I don't have an option to move my apps to the external SD (android 7)
- Is there an app or widget (or anything really) that will allow me to toggle mobile data on/off quickly? [Note20]
- Not sure where else to ask this, and I don't really know where to start, but I want to play my games from my Pixel XL2 on my living room TV, can anyone help?

| Files are disappearing from my OnePlus Nord after one week Posted: 28 Aug 2020 07:29 AM PDT Something strange is happening on my new OnePlus Nord. All the audio files I put in the Ringtones folder disappears after one week. This is audio files for ringtones, notification- and alarm sounds. Mp3 and M4A. Strangely one OGG file in the same folder doesn't seem affected... I do not have any third party antivirus or similar software. Tons of other apps though. I do not know if the files are deleted, or moved, but I haven't found them somewhere else so I assume they are deleted. Any idea what can cause this? Haven't had time to test if this happen with other file types in the same folder, or with the same file types in other folders. Although I haven't noticed any other files disappearing. After the reset, it asks for a login to Google, then Samsung, so I'm not sure which restore take precedence. Samsung fails to do a full restore. Missing tons of stuff and the layout is a total cluster. Google...oof, I made the mistake of setting up Backup/Restore during my attempts to get everything back and it seems to have overwritten my backup (Only gives me one option, from yesterday after I reset). I do have another Google account with a backup from a week ago though. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 28 Aug 2020 05:33 AM PDT I honestly don't even know where to begin, but I know where I want to end. I do a good bit of gaming on my phone, but I want to shift that to my televisions. I have two televisions: A Samsung SmartHub TV (2014 I think) A TCL400 Roku Smart TV Here's what I want to do, is this possible, and if so, what are some suggestions to go about doing it? I want to see everything that is on my phone screen on my TV, whichever one I choose. I would still like to use my phone as the main interface, but just have the TV display the phone and all the activity. Sound isn't really important, but if the TV can play the sounds, that's a bonus. I don't want to use wires if it can be helped, but if it cannot, I'm open to suggestions. Basically, I want to be able to sit on my chair in my living room, play on my phone, but be able to show what I'm doing on my TV in real-time with as little lag as possible. | Automatic backup for sms text messages and contacts say waiting to backup Posted: 28 Aug 2020 12:17 PM PDT My backup is on, but when I manually backup, everything except SMS texts and contacts say they have been backed up. 1) How can I get my SMS texts to back up? 2) Sync is also on for my contacts on my gmail. So when I login to my account from a different device, I can see my contacts. So does that means it's okay if the back says waiting to back up? [link] [comments] |
| Hotspot wrongly reports 2 connected devices Posted: 28 Aug 2020 11:56 AM PDT Hello to all, I used my xiaomi redmi 6A as ah hotspot for my tablet but in the last months it started to show 2 connected devices although only 1 was. It was doing so wherever i was going so it's not possible that someone was connecting to the hotspot. Did someone knows which kind of problem could it be? However, when I go to an individual app with available updates I see the update button and I can update it. How do I fix this issue? Posted: 28 Aug 2020 03:09 AM PDT Hi All Was wondering if anyone has used both Oneplus and the Pixel line of phones and can comment on which they found better? I currently have the S8 plus which is starting to get pretty slow, the phone has dual sims which has been really handy when going abroad (I can just put in a cheap local data sim), the Pixel only has esim which is the biggest issue, it doesnt look like theres as many choices of ESIM's vs normal sims. So my next best option would be Oneplus as looks like they update the OS pretty quickly and it looks fairly close to stock, has anyone used both and offer their opinions? He has two games on there that he'd really like to copy the save files from but I'm pretty sure I have to get to the root folder to get to them (Crashlands and PVZ Heroes). "adb devices" doesn't show his tablet but I can get access to the folders over USB, just not root. Is there any way to get to the root folders without the screen working? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Aug 2020 09:37 AM PDT My wife and I go on daily walks with the dog and it would be great to have a way to sync playback of podcasts/audiobooks/music so we can listen at the same time from our seperate phones. Right now the best solution I've found is a Bluetooth splitter that allows pairing to two devices. I would prefer an app we could both run from our respective phones and sync playback. I believe this might be due to my boyfriend, who speaks Spanish, using our shared internet for Spanish related purposes and me getting recommended Spanish articles. | Photos taking a lot of storage in data? Posted: 28 Aug 2020 06:49 AM PDT My photos have been taking 14.3 gb in total and is using up around 75% of space. I checked the information and it was taking 13.6 gb in 'data' and 800 mb in actual photos. I've tried clearing the data but it comes back after I clear it. | Google Play store size gets really big Posted: 28 Aug 2020 06:42 AM PDT I am daily driving the Nokia 5.1 which performs fine but with only 16 gigs I try to save as much space as possible. Lately the Google Play Store has been getting much bigger in size, and while this happens with other apps, it's always the cache that gets big. However, with Play Store, it's the user data. Almost 700 mb, while the app itself is only 100. The weird thing is, I haven't used the play store in months, but it still seems to grow in size. I had the same problem with Reddit, but logging out and back in worked for me. Does anyone know why it gets bigger in size and how to delete it? Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |

| Question about receiving SMS messages on multiple phones Posted: 28 Aug 2020 05:43 AM PDT I'm hoping to connect my SMS messages to a Matrix server so I can send and receive them from my computer, even if I'm in an area with no cell signal. The catch is that if my phone is off the network then it can't forward/receive the messages to my Matrix server. This is a problem since my office is in a basement with no signal (if I ever go back to the office again) Is it possible to set up two phones with the same account? That way I could leave one plugged in at home where it will always have signal. A cursory search suggests that this either impossible or highly frowned upon by service providers.
