I feel like most people don't care if their screen protector is scuffed though, a few bubbles here and there. But to me it's gonna drive me crazy, so do you think it's enough reason to return it? | Sick of "Head Space" Please Help Posted: 04 Jul 2020 10:16 AM PDT So I got the app headspace a while back and when I installed it, it added a notification or something of the sort to my calendar for every single day until I die. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get rid of it. I am sick of seeing it pop up on my main screen saying "get some headspace." | Full screen ads when I unlock my device. Posted: 04 Jul 2020 09:26 AM PDT Recently noticed on my Xperia 1 that unlocking the phone sometimes brings me to a full screen ad, I thought it might be reddit specific but no it was over another app last unlock too. Can anyone help me narrow down what's happening here? I've uninstalled some trash apps but I wouldn't know anything that has permissions to do this? | Posted: 04 Jul 2020 08:35 AM PDT is there a way to stop Android from ramping up volume on sounds? Like ringtones and youtube both will start quiet and then over a few seconds it will get to my set volume. I have gone through every setting I can think of and found nothing. | Posted: 04 Jul 2020 08:20 AM PDT This is actually really bothering me. The new update has changed some key aesthetics that I don't see as being possible to change.
I am not going to rant about how stupid this looks to me but I will say that I think it's really irritating when updates like this change my aesthetic settings around. Don't get me started on how the last update defaulted all my app battery permissions and had me fucked up for a few days trying to figure that out. Is there any way I can manipulate these settings to get back to the way they were or am I stuck with it? The only thing I can think is to enable system wide darkmode and I'd rather not do that. Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:48 AM PDT Hi everyone, When charging your Android phone, I've noticed that the charging message is either: Charging Rapidly, Charging or Charging Slowly (there may be others too?). Though I'm wondering, what parameter is Android using to determine what charging message to display? (E.g. - is it wattage? amps? % battery gained per min? etc...) And what is the threshold for each category? PS - reason I ask, is there's times when my phone tends to vary between all 3, even during the same charging cycle, so I'm trying to work out exactly is varying it? Thanks [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 04 Jul 2020 11:05 AM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy S10. Say I'm listening to something via Spotify or my podcast app (Castbox). As soon as I open another app on my phone, the media crashes. If I'm in an app, no matter what it is, and I move to another app for even a moment, even to check a notification or reply to a text, it will crash. Without fail. I am on high performance mode in the battery setting, putting apps to sleep is turned off, data saver is off, etc. I have only have 1-2 apps in my tray at any point (the apps I'm attempting to switch between without it crashing), and I have no tabs open. | Scan with google drive not cropping Posted: 04 Jul 2020 10:55 AM PDT I'm trying to use google drive to upload scans of my notes for school. I'm using the scan feature in google drive on my s9, cropping out the stuff I don't need, and uploading it. I end up with a ton of blank space on top and bottom, making the notes mostly unreadable. Was hoping someone knew of any way to get rid of all that white space. If it's not possible to get rid of or will take a lot of extra time/effort, are there any other apps/methods anyone could recommend for scanning my handwritten notes onto my PC? | Posted: 04 Jul 2020 02:46 AM PDT Is there any way of making it so only phone calls and messages use the sound/vibration when received while other apps stay silent. I want to still be able to see these notifications so Do Not Disturb with exceptions won't work. Recent software changes: Installed Android May security update. Recent hardware (router) changes: None. I have been using Solid File Explorer and Mixplorer to upload and download files from a handful of different FTP servers. After I installed the May security update a few days ago I can no longer connect using those apps. I can connect using:

| Bootloop and random restart issues in android (Gionee A1 plus) Posted: 04 Jul 2020 09:54 AM PDT My Gionee A1 plus started acting strange a month ago. It would often restart whenever I received any SMS notification and then boot up just fine. I tried using an earphone and keeping the phone in silent mode, as reducing the notification sound levels didn't help. This fixed the problem for a few weeks until 2 days ago while using my camera, it suddenly decided to restart but got stuck in a bootloop(the boot logo kept popping up and disappearing again and again). I managed to turn it off by plugging it to a charger where it went to charging mode. After a bit of research, I entered the stock "Android recovery mode" and cleared the /cache partition but that did not fix the issue. I panicked as I did not have a twrp or any other recovery tool installed. I didn't even have USB debugging enabled. However, after a bit more strolling I found that fastboot could detect my device(after rebooting to bootloader) and then ran the command fastboot continue I created a backup of my data and then did a factory reset on the device to no use. Do I need to flash a stock ROM to my device or am I missing something? I am inexperienced in this domain so please guide me on how to fix this issue. I have attached snaps of my Recovery and Factory modes. TLDR; phone ends up in bootloop after suddenly restarting while in use, battery drains faster, no ultrafast charging, clearing cache and factory reset doesn't help. [link] [comments] |
| Asus ze552kl doesn't enter qload mode Posted: 04 Jul 2020 09:40 AM PDT Hello, I am trying to dump the emmc of my Asus Zenfone. When I try to use the Emmc Software Download tool to enter Qload mode it says error 0x80004005. When I try to use QFIL to open the partition manager it fails and says Download Fail. I tried using another computer and it still didn't work. The device shows up as /dev/ttyUSB0 on linux. How can I dump the emmc of this device? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

| Phone browser Opens Randomly To Spam Posted: 04 Jul 2020 05:44 AM PDT Starting two days ago, Google Chrome would open randomly on my Galaxy S8 every few hours to a spam website (casinos, fake virus detected, etc.). I disabled Chrome but now it opens in Samsung Internet instead. I tried scanning my phone with both Malwarebytes and AVG but neither of them detected anything wrong. Then I tried searching for my problem online and the most common solution I found is to go into Settings > Apps, look for a blank nameless app and shut it down, but I couldn't find one even after enabling Show System Apps. It was fully unlocked and running AOSP Extended Pie. Dried up the phone and even opened the back panel for battery removal. Also tried calling the phone and surprisingly it rings. Now, the problem is I had some files that were not backed up. Did some Google searches and youtube videos where each result showed me that Vysor(web extension) can help me access it. | Samsung A71 - can't record calls Posted: 04 Jul 2020 06:28 AM PDT Hey, I bought a new Samsung A71 last week after my old phone died. I've been trying to record calls but I haven't been able to. The built-in option, that should be there according to multiple websites, just doesn't show up when I go into my phone-app menu (it's the default phone app that came preinstalled). I read that Samsung only restricts it in countries where it's illegal to record calls. However, I'm in The Netherlands, where it's legal. IIRC I setup the phone with my correct location (I did set the language to English though), and I've only been using it in NL. If anyone has an idea to 'fix' this, that'd be highly appreciated. Using a third party app would also be fine (if anyone has recommendations), but I read that Samsung also restricts that use if it thinks you're in a country where it's illegal. However, at this point I have no clue what is causing me to be unable to record calls, whether its the a wrong interpretation of the legal status in my area or something else. [link] [comments] |

Yes this might seem useful but it's way too sensitive, it turns on when I put it down, it turns on when I put it in my pocket. It's bloody annoying. Thought someone might know how to turn this off?
