Posted: 11 Jul 2020 04:15 AM PDT Can someone explain why this might be happening? I have my keywords in the title and description, I have a more downloads than the other apps, better recent and overall reviews, yet there are brand new apps and other apps with very poor recent reviews moving ahead in the keyword search ranking. This makes no sense to me, why would google not want the more qualified app for the keyword to be ahead in the ranking? Thanks [link] [comments] |
A question about RAM and storage Posted: 11 Jul 2020 09:09 AM PDT Is there a third party app that can check the amount of RAM and/or storage device has? Someone I know has bought a phone for €40 off of wish and Messenger is crashing every time it loads more than like 4 or 5 photos. I checked the system memory in settings, and it reports as 8GB, and storage as 128GB, which for a €40 phone is pretty obviously not true. I want to see the actual amount of both, just out of sheer curiosity [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jul 2020 09:40 PM PDT So I thought this probably was app related with StepSetGo, but I've seen across a few of my apps that ads haven't been loading. Mostly stuff to do with daily rewards. What can I do to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Zoom is not being uninstalled. Why? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 04:12 AM PDT I installed zoom from aurora store few days ago, version 5.1.28573.0629. While uninstalling, it does nothing, and on retry it says package installer keeps stopping. Other apps uninstalls fine. I have poco f1 rooted with custom ROM AOSiP. Thanks on advance. Edit: here is the crash report from package installer https://del.dog/iqappilyhy [link] [comments] |
Downloaded JPG Not Showing in Photos Posted: 11 Jul 2020 12:01 PM PDT Howdy! I had downloaded a jpg from the Google images search to send it to someone. At the time, it wasn't showing in the available photos when I select the image option on any messenger platform, so I just took a screenshot of the image and sent that. When I was sending another image an hour or so later, that downloaded JPG showed up in the list of available photos to send. I want to delete the JPG I had downloaded, but I'm not sure where the file is. I can't find it anywhere in the photos library, and it doesn't show up under downloads on my web browser app. I saw something that recommended looking at the downloads app, but that's not an app I'm showing. Where else could the picture be? I just want to delete it. I have a moto g(7) running Android version 10. It uses Google Fi for software channel/SIM [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2020 11:57 AM PDT Okay so, from my understanding I have to flash an official firmware from Sammobile, and when I wrote my model number (SM-G970U), I was given a list of US carriers to choose from. I am fairly certain that my phone is sim-free as I am currently not in the US and my sim card is not a US sim card. But I'm not sure exactly which firmware to choose, can I just choose any of the latest ones? Which ones should I avoid? There's one that's called Unknown and another that's just USA, does it matter at all which one I choose? Please help [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2020 11:49 AM PDT My phone says pin is incorrect all of a sudden. I don't remember changing my pin anytime soon and used to type it only when my fingerprint sensor disables occasionally. The recent changes I can think that I made is install work profile for company apps, so a lot of apps got installed into it automatically like intune company portal, microsoft authenticator, teams , outlook etc. Is there a separate password for workprofile? My phone is oneplus 6t running latest update of oxygen OS, no root, no usb debugging enabled. I remember that there was an option to reset it via google when you click forgot password in older phones, but it doesn't show up for me now. Is there any way I can unlock my phone or recover the data? [link] [comments] |
How to split contacts between regular Google and GSuite accounts? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 11:47 AM PDT Hi. All my contacts are on my Samsung Galaxy S9+. Some are personal and some are business. I don't want any of my business contacts to sync to my personal Google account and none of my personal contacts to sync to my GSuite account. Is this possible? If I want to save my contacts to either Google account, would the above be impossible? [link] [comments] |

Access Point Name resets after every restart Posted: 11 Jul 2020 11:41 AM PDT I use PagePlus, a Verizon NVMO and I just got a OnePlus 8 Pro. Looking for a rugged sub 250€ phone, considering the BlackView Bv9600 opinions? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 11:23 AM PDT Hi, I'm looking into buying a new phone as my beloved LeEco Le Max 2 drowned a few weeks ago, I'm searching for a rugged phone with a good battery life that has a max price of 250€ (Italy). I've come across the BlackView Bv9600 phone that sounds good on paper, and I'm curious to know if someone has had the phone for a year or more and give me some information. I don't use social media except for messaging apps, I use the phone mostly for music, checking my emails and as a GPS when I drive my motorcycle, I'm not a construction worker and I tend to take good care of my electronics, but I'd like a device that's built to operate in harsh conditions and that would last me a lot. Thanks in advance for your help! [link] [comments] |
Mysterious "LazyList" folder keeps appearing with suspicious items Posted: 11 Jul 2020 11:15 AM PDT I am cleaning storage for someone's full galaxy s10e and they keep having storage/emulated/0/lazylist appear even after it is deleted. I googled some of the items there including "com.tasomaniac.hdizizle, com.dci.cashonapps, com.android.BlackMarketApp, com.forpda.lp" and I would say these seem suspicious enough to potentially be malware related. Any ideas what is going on here? [link] [comments] |
Motorola One Hyper bootloader unlocking Posted: 11 Jul 2020 11:05 AM PDT Earlier today, my new Motorola One Hyper arrived. Since I'm planning to build LineageOs on it, I did some research beforehand and all the internet sources I found gave a simple enough method to unlock the bootloader on it. The usual developer options, installing adb + fastboot, using Powershell to get a string, entering it on their website and requesting an unlock key. So quite straightforward, no weird programs or shady corners of the internet needed, all official. Everything went smoothly until I entered the string I got in Powershell. The website told me "Your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking." Since everybody on the internet was giving this method, I was confused to say the least. Does anybody know why this might be an issue? As far as I know, Motorola phones should be immediately unlockable. Also it's not carrier exclusive and nothing else about it is unusual. Samsung S20+ MMS messages intermittently broken? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 09:52 AM PDT I'm loving this phone so far but SOMETIMES it frustrates me to no end. I'll be talking in a group chat and everything is going great and then all of a sudden things go quiet and my messages won't send. I can send a text to an individual but I cannot send a picture to an individual or a text to a group. I can also make phone calls. Enabling/disabling wifi does not work. Resetting the phone does not work. Literally the only thing I can do is wait for its little brain to reset and then all of the missed group texts will come in at once and out of order. It's very frustrating. Help? (If it matters: I use the Textra app) [link] [comments] |
Does this sound like some sort of glitch after upgrading to Android 9 Pie? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 09:47 AM PDT I hooked up a phone the other day on Thursday, and as soon as I got my mobile network settings squared away, a push notification for a system update came through -- to upgrade to 9 Pie. The download was around 1 GB and the process went smoothly. The phone has been running fine since then, not to mention the battery life seems even better. However something strange happened late last night. I got another push notification for a system update, so I just clicked on it to install.. It didn't actually download anything though, and instead went straight to the install, which I remember started at 28% completion. It did the same thing as when I did the 9 Pie upgrade, had to restart, had to optimize all my apps again -- and when I checked my software version, everything looked exactly the same. Then this morning after I got up, I saw yet another push notification for a system update, so I clicked on it again. Just like last time the same thing happened -- it didn't download anything, the install started at 28% completion, and it went through all the same steps. Again I checked my software version, and everything looks exactly the same. Does this sound right? It seems like it's reinstalling the same version of 9 Pie that I initially did on Thursday. I was wondering if the setup file was somewhere on the device, but I don't see how that's the case, because after I installed it the first time, I actually gained like half a gig of storage space. I wonder if it has anything to do with what happened the first time I installed it though. When it was downloading the setup file that first time, I didn't realize I didn't have wi-fi on, and quickly switched it on when it was 2/3 done. When I did that the download canceled, and I had to start over again. Could that partial download be affecting something? Strange.. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Jul 2020 09:40 AM PDT I've got a friend upgrading from a Note 5, he uses Straight Talk with a CDMA SIM. I was thinking of suggesting a Note 8, but as far as I can tell, those unlocked ones are GSM Unlocked. However, I see a listing claiming that it (SM-N950U) works on Verizon and "most" other CDMA carriers (?) Is there a chance this might actually work for him? I'm in the US by the way. Why is an app no longer compatible with my device? Posted: 10 Jul 2020 09:38 PM PDT I am using a Google Pixel 4 on Android 10. I downloaded an app a few weeks ago and began using it. I am currently using it now and it works fine on my device. However, when I tried to find it on the Google Play Store, it no longer shows up. When I searched it through Chrome and then clicked on it, it said the app is no longer compatible with my device. Does this mean the app is malicious and Google removed it? Or has it not been updated by the developers so that's why it's not compatible? And will it eventually stop working? I am asking this because I paid for it and I would like to stop my subscription if I can't use it in the future. Thank you in advance [link] [comments] |

Bluetooth styli for Android devices Posted: 11 Jul 2020 08:53 AM PDT Android 6.0 and newer natively supports Bluetooth HID styli: https://source.android.com/devices/accessories/stylus That is for pens that don't work like Wacom pens/S pen, but pens that are detected by normal touchscreens and pressure sensitivity info is added through Bluetooth. However, I can't find any pen that is actually known to support this protocol. Does anybody know of one that does? I'm specifically looking for one that works on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2019, sold *without* the S Pen) [link] [comments] |

Which custom ROM would you recommend similar to Pixel Experience? Posted: 11 Jul 2020 08:27 AM PDT Dear Android Fans, I would like to ask which custom ROM would you recommend when it comes to stability and security? To be more specific, I am running Pocophone F1 and although, MIUI has some useful features, I cannot stand it anymore. Previously, I tried LineageOS, Evolution X and also Pixel Experience which I liked the most, but currently, users are experiencing major issues. New Kernel should fix this in the next build, but I cannot wait and maybe you can recommend something with similar user experience and something I might like even more. Thank you in advance. Posted: 11 Jul 2020 08:24 AM PDT Hello, I am new to Android development and I am trying to make a simple youtube player. I have followed a variety of tutorials online to implement a player using the YouTubePlayerView. I have the latest version of Android studio running on a Pixel 3 XL emulator. I have enabled internet access in the manifest file and included a valid developer key for the YouTube API. Can anyone me help please? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jul 2020 10:34 PM PDT My battery life went to nothing so I check my apps I've installed. I find an app with no name just an android icon and the number 10163. Can someone tell me what this app is? [link] [comments] |
