    So decided to add a canadian iptv to my collection of apps that i make on my free time , so this app is for android tv live channels only so android tv OS is required , basicaly the app collects free canadian tv links that free and made public and legal streams then just plays them in the live channels with tv guide which im adding slowly ....Canada IPTV

    Private DNS on Android TV?

    Is it available, for example on Mi Box S?

    If yes, how to configure?

    Update: (SOLVED)

    After a whole day of researching. I found the solution!

    To enable DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) or DNS-over-TLS (DoT) on your Android TV Box. You can do it by installing Nebulo.

    It's an open-source app and you can find it here:https://git.frostnerd.com/PublicAndroidApps/smokescreen/-/blob/master/README.md

    It has several DoH and DoT available by default in the app by Cloudflare, Google, and other DNS resolvers.

    I personally use NextDNS since it's like Pi-Hole but in Cloud and blocks ads and trackers effectively. It is also configurable as well wherein you can allow and block specific DNS queries easily.

    **Note:**Nebulo's UI is not properly configured for Android TV but it is navigation-able for most buttons on the app. For ease of navigation on the one-time setup, connect a mouse to your Android TV Box.

    How to setup:

    1. Download the latest APK here
    2. Sideload it your Android TV and open it.
    3. Don't click "Start", tap the "Server Icon" to select your preferred DNS provider. If you want to add a new one. Click the "Add a Server" button.
    4. Once you have added and/or select your preferred DNS server. Click the "Start" button.
    5. It will prompt you to set up the VPN connection. Nebula uses a dummy VPN thus it won't work if you have another VPN app installed and running.
    6. Once you finished all of this. You have now encrypted and secured your DNS queries.
    7. You can try to visit the Settings to see other configuration options such as themes but you don't really have to go there. It works out of the box and even runs on startup so even if you reboot your Android TV Box, it will run by itself.

    DoH can resolve DNS queries faster and more private than DoT. With DoH, queries are hidden in regular HTTPS traffic, meaning they can't easily be blocked without blocking all other HTTPS traffic as well.

    Why did I choose this instead of using a VPN?

    • I am more concerned about the system-installed trackers of my Android TV Box manufacturer.
    • VPN doesn't really have a really good Ad and Tracking blockers and the only VPN provider I know that has a configurable Ad and Tracking DNS Blocker is Windscribe.
    • Even if you're connected to VPN. System-installed analytics and trackers can still identify profile you once it sends data back to its manufacturer's data centers.
    • I could set up a Pi-Hole device but I don't have the technical expertise to configure one, plus the majority of VPN providers block local DNS by default so if you have a VPN and Pi-Hole. Pi-Hole won't work.
    • I don't really watch Netflix or run Kodi with pirate add-ons since I run my own Plex server

    I could go back to using a VPN when I'm able to use it alongside an enabled Private DNS setup but this should suffice for those who want an easy way to get DoH / DoT to their Android TV Box.

    I wish all apps would just adapt YouTube TV remote Controls

    Not sure if it matter but I'm using the 2019 Shield remote and i just love the control through TY TV. Center button press at anytime pauses/plays. left and right rewind and fast forward 15 seconds.

    It just feels more natural and any other app feels janky. Am I alone?

    Phillips 55pus6401/12 headphones

    Hi guys!

    I require bluetooth headphones for my tv, but it apparently requires aptx or something like that so that the audio will be in sync with the video (which is delayed right now)

    Google searches didn't do it for me 😅 i read somewhere that it is not possible, but the tv says otherwise. No idea what's up.

    Youtube always has an issue

    When i try to watch any video on Youtube app, it freezes after a few seconds and stay. When i try it on chrome or newpipe, it always stops and buffers after a few minutes playing takes a while to come back. The youtube app was up to date when i checked.

    Force 4:3 aspect ratio

    Hi there!

    I have a Sony W805C and connected a device sending a 576p 4:3 signal. The TV doesn't show a proper 4:3 aspect ratio though.

    The aspect ratio options I can choose from are smart, normal, full, zoom. Normal should be 4:3 but it is stretched. Is there a way to force proper 4:3 on a Android TV?
