1.54k requests in AdMob and my app is not live? It was sent to 5 people to test quickly. Where are they coming from? I do not want to violate any rules.

Google Play Store recommending different apps ( You might also like )before my app screenshots.

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 06:59 AM PDT

I have a new app, on my store listing I seen my app icon and name, then the install icon, the review and then after that google play recommends different apps from other developers in you may also like section and then it shows my app stats and then my screenshots. Can this negatively affect my app installs, if people see other apps before they get to see my screenshots. Is this common?

How to find dependency versions/names easy and consistently

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 10:31 PM PDT

Is there a way to find dependency names easily? For example lets say you want to add the BottomNavigationView to your app, which requires:

    implementation 'com.google.android.material:material:1.1.0'

Is there a website or resource to go to for finding that? In this example the android docs for the component don't even have the import on there: https://developer.android.com/reference/com/google/android/material/bottomnavigation/BottomNavigationView

Usually I google around and hope to find the latest version. Is this the best solution or is there a different way?

[HWTD] How was this done - octopus keymapper

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 03:20 AM PDT

Does anyone have any idea how this app is able to provide this functionality?

If you haven't seen it before, it maps Bluetooth controllers and keyboards / mice to physical touch events on any app.

There's no way, that I know of, to send touch events to another app, other than accessibility services, but even this is limited to a single pointer and has to enable the service permission first, which octopus does not use.

Octopus app gets the user to select the app they want to provide the touch functionality to first, to load it onto the app. I thought it might be using some kind of launcher feature but it didn't appear to be a launcher either.

It does have copious amounts of permissions though.

    Mobile advertising question ecpm

    Posted: 06 Jun 2020 06:30 AM PDT

Let's say the average ecpm for rewarded videos in a country is 5$ but your app has an extreme amount of users in that country, usage is through the roof, the amount of the active users can't be compared to any other app in that country, how much of a spike of ecpm can you expect comparing to that?

I made an app that gives you notifications of new post from any subreddit

    Posted: 05 Jun 2020 09:51 AM PDT

I mostly use it to be the first to hear about post from r/androiddev and r/android_devs (I'm usually lurkin). I imagine the app could be even more useful if you're a moderator and want to receive notifications for new post in your sub.

It's called Reddit Post Notifier, its open sourced and on the play store. I modeled it's GitHub's readme after this demo app since it looked REALLY nice. Anyways, any feedback would be cool.
