There is a way to escape from "cursed wallpaper"

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 07:06 PM PDT

Recently, (yesterday) I flexed that my Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) is invurnerable to this issue.
At the night time, i decided to downlowad official software update to Android 10. The Fight has begun.

After an hour of updating, my phone got into loop of crashing lock screen and trying to launch it again. I had to patiently try to open camera, with every refresh of System UI, then i took random photo (that ofc is in sRGB) and went to galery by the button, opened a sub menu, "set as wallpaper" and then it will ask you for password ( at that point it may refresh corrupted sys UI process) and if you are lucky and patient enough, you will save changes thus freeing your phone out of this never ending misery. Hope i helped.

Since we have such high devices these days, we should have an option to have the notification bar on the bottom

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 02:50 PM PDT

Is it just me who really dislike that you have to reach all the way up to pull down the navigation bar? I know, there are launchers and tips and tricks to pull it down easier, but I still feel that base Android should give you an option to flip it upside down, where you will have the clock on the bottom left and battery status at the bottom right. And you swipe up for notifications. Or if you have swipe gestures for home, back and recent, maybe you can tap the notification bar to bring it up?

I'm old and remember the first Note phone and how I always put the "Pie" rom that gave you the option to have it at the bottom. I miss that.

Anybody know of any mod that outs tour notification bar at the bottom?

The goal is to be able to record video without an officer being able to take your phone and delete it. There is an app called Quick Video Recorder which lets you turn off the screen while still recording video.

    My setup:

    1. Using the Button Mapper app: double click volume down to open QVR (double up for flashlight).

    2. Press record.

    3. Hold power button then lock phone.

Google photos should be set to upload QVR folder over data, (not to require WiFi).

I have test run video until the phone battery dies, and it still uploads properly. It's my dream to Tasker automate steps 1-3, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Note: if they take your phone and it records until the battery dies, the video will not upload until the phone is powered back up. It is not simultaneously streamed to a cloud, of anyone can develop an app that does that, it will sell. This is the climate for it.

Just a quick heads up, don't use Android Flash Tool to downgrade from Android 11 beta back to 10. You'll lose face unlock

    Posted: 16 Jun 2020 11:43 AM PDT

This is a reported issue but haven't seen it on this sub and I imagine Pixel users don't know the beta sub exist. Just wait for the OTA from Google to revert back to 10. My OTA wasn't coming through so I used the flash tool and now face unlock won't work. Tried fresh factory reset and all. Just a PSA.
