| App Insights backend, sdk, game engine website Posted: 07 May 2020 08:00 AM PDT I found a website yesterday that provide a great amount of detail on applications available for android but now I can't seem to find it in my browsing history. It provided info on an app's engine, backend, ad platforms, analytics, sdk version, firebase, etc. I am wondering if anyone knows a website that provides information on what AD platform is used, what game engine is used, and other information involving insights that makes up an android application that could help give me a good idea on how to develop applications for certain uses. I know this may not be the most conventional question but I would appreciate any help with regards to this. | Another "What's this notification icon?" post I'm afraid Posted: 07 May 2020 09:00 AM PDT I'm struggling to find what the left-most icon here is referring to. There's nothing mentioned when I swipe down the notifications and tapping on it does nothing. Ive searched various on-line lists of icons with no luck. It appeared a couple of days ago, and I don't remember installing or changing anything around that time, but I'm probably just unobservant and didn't notice it for a while. | Posted: 07 May 2020 01:43 PM PDT Hi, as someone who is feeling quite low I'm anxious about asking for help since I know I'm an idiot for not backing my phone up. I tried to update my phone. It's been over a year since the last update. There had already been errors with not being able to update the software. I hooked my Galaxy S8+ up to my PC and used Smart Switch which left me on boot loop. I ended up having to factory reset it. I've used a bunch of apps to try and recover even a couple of photos and there's nothing. I'm not sure what exact information is needed, but the model number is SM-G955F with android version 9. I just really need this to not be permanent. I'm looking to recover pictures, videos, voice recordings, phone calls, contacts, basically everything. [link] [comments] |

This is super annoying for me, since i don't swipe very accurately to the left/right when changing the page, so now i keep going into my apps page even if i don't want to. Any way to disable it? | Posted: 07 May 2020 12:55 PM PDT So there are some apps on my phone that would just freeze and crash when I try to open them while I'm connected to a Wi-Fi connection , as soon as I turn my Wi-Fi off the app works fine. All of the apps worked fine when I first installed them. I have tried clearing cache and data but it didn't work. What do I do ? ( Android 7.1.1 ) Thanks in advance , Edit : Google play hadn't been working for a while it just kept loading and said " connection timed out " do I tried using a VPN , Google play worked and the problem above was solved ! | Flashing ROM for Wristec Max Smart Watch Posted: 07 May 2020 12:51 PM PDT So I pulled the trigger and bought one of these smartwatches today, and the only thing I don't like about it is that it currently runs android 7, which is pretty outdated. With it being a quad core with 3gb ram it appears capable of running Android 10, but a) there are custom ROMs which may be a better fit, and b) it's a watch so not everything would work the same as with a phone. So I was hoping if someone has experience with this watch (or similar ones like the LEMFO), if they had a recommendation as to which ROM would suit best? Thanks [link] [comments] |

I know that linking your facebook account to apps and sites can cause you to send messages without sending them and such, but cant find anything online about videos bricking phones. | What is the most optimal way to organize photos on my Android device? Posted: 06 May 2020 07:38 PM PDT Hello everybody! I'm going to pose an extremely hard-to-describe issue that I would love to hear experienced input on how to solve. This will probably take many words. Please stick with me! Preface: I switched from iOS (after four years) to Android with the Pixel 2. Used the Pixel 2 for two years, loved it, and have upgraded to the Pixel 4 recently. Here is where problems came to a head. Handling photos on Android seems a bit more complicated than iOS. With iOS, you either take a picture or save an image and it goes to your camera roll. From there, it can be willingly or automatically uploaded to any app or cloud of your desire (at least, from what I remember). Google Photos strikes me as counter intuitive in that regard, because it is first and foremost a cloud photo storage that also happens to be the photo viewer for the device. This is where I run into my problems. For my Pixel 2, it was easy enough because every photo I take was saved locally, as well as any image I downloaded. Uploaded to the cloud was the afterthought. Now that I've upgraded to the Pixel 4, and transferred my photo collection through Google Photos, things have gotten weird. - When posting on social media, I am only offered locally stored photos to choose from. This includes images taken by my phone camera and images I have downloaded. If I want to post a photo from Google Photos (especially in a multi-picture post) I have to find it in Google Photos, tap download, and then it is available. However, lets say this photo is from two years ago. It doesn't appear in my camera roll timeline as being from two years ago, it is now a brand new image at the top of my camera roll, as if I had just taken it. Now I effectively have two versions of the same image, effectively defeating the purpose of the timeline. What is the best way to navigate this issue? - Device folders vs. Albums. In my mind, if I wanted to collect a series of photos, I would put them in an album. Then, say I wanted to make a post or quickly upload photos from that album, I would reach into that album and select those photos. But albums seem to be stored in the cloud? So in order to post an image from an album, I need to collect photos to be put into an album, upload them into an album, and then download them from that album at a later time? This seems like too many steps. What am I missing here? My next thought would then be to use device folders as albums, but I don't even know if you can make device folders and choose what goes into them. When I get a new app that manages photos, why does it have to dump its contents into a new device folder? Why can't it go into the camera roll? IS there a camera roll? Help!! r/AndroidQuestions , what am I missing here? Is my setup wrong? Am I using the wrong apps? What's the solution? After three years on Android, I'm a firm believer in the master race. I don't plan on trying to recover the phone. I used the Find My Device website to locate the device but it kept saying "can't reach device". Can I erase it remotely regardless? | Apps moved to sd card not working Posted: 07 May 2020 08:22 AM PDT I seemed to have screwed myself. My phone was telling me it was running out of storage space, so I went to see if I could move anything to the sd card, since it had plenty of space. I moved messenger, Zynga poker, Ebay & one other. Afterward, the apps' shortcut became grayed out & when clicked on said "app not available". I thought, okay, u must not be able to have those on the sd card. So I deleted them & tried reinstalling, but when I do that it automatically sends them to the place they're most recently assigned, external storage (sd). Plus, after reinstalling I can click on an apps storage & TRY to send it from the sd card back to internal storage, but it tells me that there's not enough space, which is malarky, because I freed up like 7 of the 31 gigs deleting pics & videos. Im at a loss, & am about to try a factory reset, but 1. Im not sure that will help anything & 2. Im not sure if that will hurt anything. I have an lg stylo 4, of which I really have no other complaints, I just seemed to have entered a closed loop of some sort. If I could find a setting that enables me to toggle where downloaded apps go by default, that might help, but I see no such option anywhere. [link] [comments] |

It says APPNAME (-113) Reason: Other This is china rom phone. Google play store and google services I installed are fine and can install apps, but i need some apk to install. Please tell me where in settings do I need to change because I already looked everywhere. This is my mom's phone. Install from unknown sources is enabled and it's not the issue. It just fails to install. If this is really miui, then it might be the last xiaomi redmi phone we will ever buy. If not, again, please tell where in settings is the fix for this issue. I have set the DNS on the phone under Private DNS (works perfect ON the phone) but it seems whenever a device is tethered it ignores anything that is setup on the phone and uses the mobile network's default DNS. | Bluetooth headphones ringing when in Do Not Disturb Posted: 07 May 2020 10:20 AM PDT I've been sleeping with headphones playing whitenoise, and recently upgraded to Bluetooth headphones (bedphones) that are better to sleep with. I love them, theres just one problem. When the phone is set to do not disturb, and I get a call before I want to wake up, the default BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP of the headphones plays in my ear. There's no notifications on my phone to end the call immediately. What the hell. After doing some research, I find that this is a pretty common Bluetooth issue, the phone sending the signal to the BT device even when in DND. What I haven't found is a solution, or a work around, or an app to stop this obnoxious behavior other than putting my phone on airplane mode every night. motog7, bedphones. [link] [comments] |
