    Twilight for android tv

    Posted: 02 Apr 2020 07:22 AM PDT

I recently got an Android TV box and I was looking for a night shift feature for it. Twilight is great at doing that but there is a big problem with it. After installing it and enabling it through accessibility settings, my remote becomes not so responsive as it was before and some keys are reprogrammed. For example, when I press dpad middle to open an app, it acts as if I had long pressed the app. Is that happening only in my box or its something happening to everyone and I have to bear with it?

Mibox 3 / S deblaot your device and free up resources and space without root (not for newbies)

So not all know this but its rather simple.

If you do know what adb is and how to get it, this is not for you.

Now when this is away lets get started.

    1. Enable developer mode on your box

    2. Enable usb debugging while doing this(note your usb port will no longer work until disabled again)

    3. open command window in windows (cmd.exe)

    4. Connect to your mibox device example adb connect 192.168.1.10:5555 (port 5555 is default)

    5. adb shell pm list packages -f

    6. Copy entire section and see what you would like to remove

    7. Type adb shell

    8. List of known files that is normally preloaded/installed into the box, copy paste any into the cmd and uninstall/deactivate them (note they will either show up again after a reboot or after a few seconds/minutes, but they will no longer be installed)

      //Mibox 3 preloaded apps pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.cbs.ott pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.hulu.livingroomplus pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.pandora.android.atv pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.showtime.standalone pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.nousguide.android.rbtv pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sling pm uninstall -k --user 0 air.com.vudu.air.DownloaderTablet pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.android.tvsetup.partnercustomizer //Android languages keyboard pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.inputmethod.korean pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.apps.inputmethod.hindi pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.inputmethod.japanese pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.apps.inputmethod.zhuyin pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.inputmethod.pinyin //Android google apps pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.tv pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.play.games pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.music pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.videos pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.tts pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.leanbacklauncher.recommendations

Doing a hardware reset will revert back all changes you made.

    Good luck.

Hey, I'm still using version 2.11. I tried a couple of sites to see if there was a new version. Does anyone know where I can get the latest for the Shield?

    Limit Volume on Android TV

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 08:14 PM PDT

Hello, my parents have a Sony Bravia XBR-75X940E TV that runs Android TV. Is there any way to limit the volume level on the TV? My dad forgets to wear his hearing aid and the TV gets progressively louder throughout day.

I know there is a PRO MODE (display, mute, volume up, home) that can limit volume but entering and exiting this mode takes 4 restarts and its really inconvenient and slow.

Since we also watch TV as a family and do want the volume up at times, I am looking for a solution that is quicker to implement. Perhaps an app or another setting?

I also don't want to buy more equipment like a receiver or soundbar.

    Anyone have a solution?

    Thanks!
