| Updating Sony Bravia 800e to Android 9? Posted: 08 Apr 2020 10:06 AM PDT Sony rolled out Android 9 to their very high end TVs starting this past December, but is it possible to update other models (specifically the 800e) to the latest version? Has anyone attempted? [link] [comments] | ||
| Using a Google Nexus Player for Torrents Posted: 08 Apr 2020 10:00 AM PDT I purchased a Google Nexus Player back in 2015 and have been using it occasionally since then. I now use an Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K as my primary media player but am looking for a way to download and seed torrents without having to use a PC. The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is not ideal for that because of its low storage capacity and no support for NTFS. The Google Nexus Player also has the same 8 GB storage capacity but this device has an unlocked bootloader, is rooted with Magisk and supports NTFS through StickMount. The installed operating system is stock Android TV 7.1.2 and I have disabled system updates. What I'm planning to do is connect a high speed 256 GB USB flash drive to the Nexus Player with a micro USB 2.0 OTG adapter cable and use the external storage for downloading and seeding torrents. The torrent client that I use on my Android devices is tTorrent which is quite versatile. Has anyone here used a Google Nexus Player or a similar device for this purpose? My main concern is the 1 GB of RAM and how that may affect the ability to seed multiple torrents simultaneously. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 08 Apr 2020 09:07 AM PDT Hi, I've been trying to install Disney plus on my android TV. It seems that with simple apk it is not working. I am unable to finish the installation because it fails. This happens when installing from internal or external memory. I have found the apkm file from apk mirror but I have issue with the apkm Orford app to unpack it as the pilot doesn't work on the install window. Would you have any idea how I could get the app installed? This is a legit question, i have the Disney account already and it is working on the laptop. App from store is nowhere to be seen. Thanks [link] [comments] | ||
| Shield TV vs other boxes like Xiaomi M Box Posted: 08 Apr 2020 07:29 AM PDT Hey guys, hopefully I won't get blamed by this question because it could be that I'm not the first one who is asking it... I'm asking me what the pro's of a nvidia shield tv are compared to e.g. Xoami Mi Box. When I'm looking in youtube reviews I don't find them out why to pay 100-150 €/$ more for a shield tv than for the xiaomi box (except you limit the functions only to hometheatre and movie playback, not for games). I'm glad about all comments with your knowledge. Thx a lot! [link] [comments] | ||
| How do i change resolution on my android tv Posted: 08 Apr 2020 05:13 AM PDT Hey guys I have a 50PUS7304 software version tpm191e_r.001.002.173.004 I downloaded kodi which defaults into 1080 res, downloaded a res check app, which says that at least my tv menu is also in 1080p, and kodi probably defaults to that. Anyway to change my resolution? Cant see any options in my tv setting. I don't have alot of android settings. Is there an apk i could download that would just force it or something? | How does mibox s handle high bit rate 4k hdr content from external HDD? Posted: 07 Apr 2020 06:35 PM PDT Does it play it back fine? Any stutter? I understand the shield is probably better but I'm not looking to spend that much. [link] [comments] | ||
| Help: HDMI cable problems and watching Netflix on MiBox Posted: 08 Apr 2020 03:46 AM PDT I've had problems watching some Netflix content (some, not all), and Netflix support said the problem might be the HDMI cable. First of all, can someone explain this to me? Second, if it is a problem with the HDMI cable, should I be looking for a certain type of replacement cable? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 07 Apr 2020 04:04 PM PDT Does anyone know if there is a way to sort purchased videos on the prime video app by title rather than by purchased date? [link] [comments] | ||

| Can't find Philips Smart TV Voice Control Skill in the Alexa app. Posted: 07 Apr 2020 03:11 PM PDT So recently I bought a Philips Ambilight TV, which is compatible with Alexa. TV's set up perfectly, everything's working, updated to latest software. But the problem is that I just can't find the skill for it in the alexa app. I looked up the issue and a lot of people seem to have this problem. I am from Hungary, so I changed my locations all to United Kingdom ones, because they say that the skill is only available there for some reason. Still can't find it. Tried the skill's link, enabled it, but on my account it doesn't show and it doesn't appear on the skills page either (of course I'm using the same account everywhere). Has everything changed or has anyone come up with a fix to this since the other reddit post was written? Literally tried everything I could and still no success. Without the skill I obviously can't control the TV, that would be the whole point of having an Alexa compatible TV but what are we supposed to do when the most important "ingredient" (the skill itself) is missing? Hoping that there is a fix. [link] [comments] | ||
| Ugreen USB ethernet USB 3.0 2.0 to RJ45 HUB for Xiaomi mi box S Posted: 07 Apr 2020 12:15 PM PDT I bought this today. Does anyone have this? Do I need any drivers for the adapter to work, or is it just plug-n-play? What is your experience? [link] [comments] |
