| Samsung Galaxy S9: Mysterious "Tap Here to enter Secure Folder" notification? Posted: 13 Mar 2020 06:48 AM PDT So for the past several months, every now and then my phone will vibrate and the headphones icon will appear in my notification bar, popping up and disappearing for a few seconds, then staying for about 20 seconds or until I tap it. When I pull down the shade, the details read "Tap Here to Enter Secure Folder", but when I tap on it it just goes away (and with Avast App Lock enabled, Avast asks me to provide my fingerprint or pattern to continue. It just takes me to my home screen after that.) It's a little bit of a nuisance because when I don't have my phone on vibrate, it pauses my music every time it does the whack-a-mole thing, appearing and disappearing rapidly. I don't think this is a virus, I stay away from sideloaded apps and I have Avast enabled all the time (automatically scans every other day.) Edit: In the time it took me to write this, it happened 3 or 4 times. Edit 2: oh also, I have secure folder DISABLED. So um. Yeah. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Since yesterday I haven't been able to update any of the apps on my Galaxy S7. I also wanted to download the Google Duo app, and that's not happening either. I just keep seeing the 'download pending' for the apps. I read somewhere that clearing the cache for the Google Play Store app would help. But that didn't work. | Any Recommendations for Google Fit Alternatives? Posted: 13 Mar 2020 12:39 PM PDT Currently sporting a Pixel 3 on Verizon. Moved from watch to watch, I've tried Fitbit before (and loved the software, not so much the hardware) but now I'm sporting a Fossil Hybrid HR and am currently importing data from the Fossil app to the Google Fit app which better consolidates steps, heart rate data, sleep data, and workout data into easy-to-read charts and graphs for trends. I'm finding myself dissatisfied with how it displays my resting heart rate over time and how consistently I work out (the Journal feature is quite the mess for my use..) compared to competitors like Fitbit. This is rather upsetting for me when a glance at my monthly calendar full of bubbles indicating complete workouts (done especially well with Fitbit) does alot to motivate me. Are there any recommendations for comparable Alternatives to Google Fit that have these two features (Resting heart rate tracker and workout tracker) and can easily have data imported from a Fossil Hybrid HR? | Keep WiFi Connected without internet connection Posted: 13 Mar 2020 10:40 AM PDT Hello people. I am having an issue keeping my Galaxy S8 (Android 9) connected to my drone via WiFi. The drones WiFi connection does not have internet, and the phone disconnects from it after 1 minute or so repeatedly. I tried connecting to the network while in airplane mode, with mobile data off. No other networks in range. I tried it with auto reconnect on and off. If off it disconnects and stays disconnected. If on it still disconnects, then rescans reconnects. Is there any way for me to force it to stay connected to the drones Network even though it's not providing an internet signal? Thanks everyone! [link] [comments] |
| Is google secretly trying to kill old school wired headphones? Posted: 13 Mar 2020 09:25 AM PDT A little while back, I bought wired headphones from Sony for about 50€. They used to work great and give decent output, but the only way to get them to produce maximum capable output was to download equalizers through play store and tune according to your needs(bass, treble, low end, instrumental etc.). After downloading I had a great time and they used to sound really bassy(I'm a basshead) and used to even sound has good as my friend's 70€ wireless headphones. Till the android 10 update on my phone. It literally killed off the output it had to offer, and all the equalizers did was to reduce the volume. I looked through articles on google to find a possible solution to this problem, and some articles suggested that google had removed support for 3rd party audio equalizers, and now I started regretting my decision to go with wired headphones even though I know they have the potential to sound great. My question is , should I sell them off and buy wireless ones( which I don't wanna do since I have the convenience of an old school headphone jack) or could y'all suggest a workaround around this( no rooting since I don't want to void my daily driver's warranty)?? After i turned it on after like 2 years i updated it's android and after that whenever i turn it on i get the ASUS Logo and it stays like that until the battery runs out. I tried to do a factory reset but that just gave me the same result. When i fastboted it to try to launch in safe mode i got this screen and i don't see the option launch in safe mode. It was fast and smooth at first then there was this update last year that slowed down my phone. I have sufficient space on the phone and sd card storage and I always clean the cache and close unused apps but its still laggy. What to do to solve this? I havent any money yet for a new phone. | Posted: 13 Mar 2020 06:12 AM PDT Since today random websites are popping up in chrome on my phone (samsung galaxy a5 2017) spontaneously, sometimes out of nowhere when I'm doing something (like watching youtube) and sometimes when I am using chrome. I already did a scan with my anti-virus (malwarebytes) but it didn't solve the issue. My mom had the same problem with her phone (also samsung) Does anyone have the same issue or a solution? | How can I mirror my Galaxy S7 to my PC without using the screen? Posted: 13 Mar 2020 04:55 AM PDT My phone is busted, so it permanently has a black screen except for a tiny sliver at the top, but since this isn't even enough to let me see the time this means my phone is useless. Is there any way (with or without rooting) that'll let me control it remotely from my PC even though I can't use the screen? I can still unlock it from muscle memory, it's everything else that's beyond me right now. I'd be happy if I could at least get a backup of my contacts/ texts and WhatsApp stuff. I managed to copy all the internal files to my PC, but I'm not sure how much of it I can actually use. Thanks in advance! P.S. I think I still have AirDroid. Is it possible to boot up the latter on my PC and use it even without opening the app on my phone? | Question about ADB and Download Mode / Odin Mode for Samsung Devices Posted: 13 Mar 2020 04:30 AM PDT is there a way to disable or lock/hide ADB and Download Mode / Odin Mode for Samsung Devices? like for example using MDM (Mobile Device Management) to lock (imagine bios boot lock on pc) or disable the usage of "Factory Reset/Factory Wipe" of the device making that option/feature greyed out in the settings and on the Recovery Menu when using it making the device auto reboot when that option is selected or do nothing and just show error/warning that that option is not allowed. (for the sole purpose of making it hard for thieves to steal phones wiping them and then either re-using them or re-selling them) > Also In my Opinion Phone Companies should enable users/consumers to lockdown/hide/disable "Download Mode" "Factory Reset" "ADB" options and similar android features and only make users/consumers to be allowed to re-enable those options/features if the user logs in to the phone and is completely authenticated they can also combine such feature to the FRP Lock feature most moderm phones have now making the changes to the device permanent even after the user factory reset the phone i know there are bypass for such things but having those options will make it more harder and time consuming rather than having all options easily available for the thieves (this is just my opinion tho I wouldn't rely much on phones)" [link] [comments] |

I Was able to get all of my data when it comes to apps and contacts but I couldn't mvoe over song files and pictures. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. What can I do?
