Someone has this issues with Video Prime for Android TV? version 5.0.20

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 05:25 AM PST

    1. HDR content plays well, although first 30 seconds can expect random stutter which self stops afterwards.
      1. Bigger problem with Dolby Vision, the whole screen flashes different transparent colours and random stutter.
      2. While watching any content on PrimeVideo app, if I try using the TV menu during the watching process, the video and sound will stutter.

My particular tv (Toshiba 55U7950) has WCG, Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+ with Android 8 (soon they release Android 9).

    Thank you for your help!

    Fire stick 4k worth it?

    Posted: 05 Feb 2020 05:25 AM PST

The Fire Stick 4k is on sale again and my aging Chromecast v1 is having a lot of stuttering issues on Youtube (know problem and Google is not giving this device any updates anymore). I'm looking for a cheap replacement that can play Youtube, Netflix and that's pretty much it.

Is the interface really that bad? I saw a bunch of posts about this and of course the ads are kinda off putting... What's your take on this?

I wanna make my dumb-TV smarter with Mi Box S. Is it worth it?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:35 AM PST

    Hello, /r/AndroidTV!

Recently I got an old TV with SCART, A/V and VGA connection for free. I wanna make it closer to today's standarts and plan to buy Mi Box because its inexpensive, and connect via VGA to HDMI adapter. My main purpose for it is to Chromecast it through Twitch, Youtube, watch some other content on Kodi and Plex, and sideload some emulators and play games with DS4 controller.

My main question is, how good is it now and is it worth buying? Fire Stick is out of question since it doesnt ship to where I live.

Mirroring phone screen or AndroidTV browser

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 05:05 PM PST

Hey y'all! I wanted to clarify something before buying an AndroidTV.

I want to watch a stream (inside the browser, for example, a stream of a NFL game) in my old ass TV. My first possibily is to mirror the stream from my phone. The problem is, do I get a video-sound delay if I connect my wireless earphones to either the phone or AndroidTV?

The other possibility is to download a browser and run the stream directly in the AndroidTV, and then connect the earphones to it, so there's no delay. Is this somewhat possible?

    Thanks in advance!

Hulu Issue - Android 10 on Android TV

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 01:10 PM PST

Last week, my MI BOX S was updated to Android 9 (Pie) and since then Hulu seems to be broken. The ADs play just fine, but the video freezes every few seconds, while the Audio keeps running. I contacted Hulu through Chat support & they informed that it was a known issue, but there wasn't any ETA.

Anyone else facing this issue with Hulu in Android 9 ?

    Multiple users/profiles for YouTube?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 09:14 AM PST

NVidia Shield owner here with a 2 year old...

I'm SO sick of my recommended videos being bombarded by Blippi and Cocomelon and my wife's music.

Is there ANY way to switch easily between YouTube profiles? Maybe even a 3rd party app (I've seen Smart YouTube, does it have this feature)?

    I'm desperate.

Do any of the generic Android TV boxes even support Dolby or other advanced audio formats?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2020 01:23 PM PST

I actually already have a 2015 and 2019 Shield but I'm seeing some very high end generic Android TV boxes out now, some with newer processors that actually are just as fast if not faster than the nVidia X1/+... BUT, other than the Shield, do any of these actually support Dolby or DTS much less TrueHD, Atmos or DTS:X? Or do they pretty much all just support generic 5.1 digital? I have a newer soundbar that supports just about everything, I'm just curious... TIA!
