Post Android 9.0 Pie Call Recording Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:46 AM PST Hello! This question must have been asked before but I cant really find anything on it broken down enough for me to fully understand it. The call recording application I used to use on my old Android no longer works on my new Android. I did some digging and it turns out that Android basically barred all call recording applications from working with the Android 9.0 Pie firmware update. What would be the best course of action from here? The easiest and least time consuming method. Is there a way to bring the firmware back to a previous version? Or would that be detrimental to the phone's security? I read something about "Rooting" a phone but I don't quite understand what that means exactly. Thank you for taking the time to read my post! Mobile games all of a sudden demand that I have facebook installed? Posted: 20 Feb 2020 06:43 PM PST So I have 3 mobile games I devote some time to. In order to keep my game progress saved I need to link my fb account, which is actually the only reason I even have a fb account. I had to replace my phone recently and as I was installing these games I noticed they weren't letting me log into fb simply through the web browser like they used to, it doesn't even show me anywhere to type my email & password anymore. I noticed I can only login if I'm actually logged into the fb app on my phone. Now honestly I don't even want FB on my phone since I don't use it at all, I was hoping someone out there would know a fix for this or a way around it? [link] [comments] |
How to open a veracrypt containers over an OTG cable? Posted: 21 Feb 2020 12:17 PM PST I've tried using the app "EDS Lite" to do that but it just won't work. Am I doing something wrong? Is there some other way to do that? [link] [comments] |
My Google pixel 3a wont download group texts Posted: 21 Feb 2020 12:10 PM PST I got a Google pixel 3a and am using the default messager app from Google LLC. I have red pocket as my carrier and the text come in under and individual person and asks to download but never downloads. It will sometimes download it from someone and sometimes won't. I've tried resetting my phone, clearing cache and stuff, but I doesn't work. What do I do? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Feb 2020 11:16 AM PST I think this started with a recent update. Google play store, movies, and maps on Android auto are all crashing. I've tried every trick short of a factory reset. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I have a Note 10+. [link] [comments] |
Samsung a20e camera 5 sec delay on snapchat pictures Posted: 21 Feb 2020 10:48 AM PST Got a new Samsung a20e, pretty happy overall. However the front camera is quite zoomed in and when you try to take a picture it just takes a long time before it takes a picture. The front camera on the camera app is instant with my current settings, but snapchat is more unclear, zoomed-in and slow/sluggish when taking pictures. I have already cleared all the snapchat caches. Refurbished or not? "Phone Info Samsung" app gives back strange info Posted: 21 Feb 2020 10:22 AM PST Hi everyone, I bought a Samsung A30S from an eBay professional seller. This seller has 98% positive feedbacks with the negative ones being about refurbished devices sold as new and stuff like that, so I thought it would've been safe to check whether my new Samsung was all good or not. I downloaded the famous "Phone Info Samsung" by vndnguyen and ran a "Check refurbished" test on the phone, this is what I got: "Looks like your smartphone has been refurbished. I contacted Samsung, provided my IMEI and S/N and they said these codes are exact, that they match each other and that the warranty is active and belongs to my country (Italy). The operator also stated that unfortunately they have not way to check if a device has been refurbished or not. Is this enough to say that the app is wrong and my device is actually brand new, not refurbished? Fun fact: when I analyze my S/N in that app, it says "Country of manufacture: India; Manufacture date: January 2000", lol? My idea at this point is that the app is just retrieving wrong info. Thanks! Weird notifications from Google Drive Posted: 21 Feb 2020 10:11 AM PST I keep getting this notification that says "All 3 files are available offline". It's always either 2 or 3 files, and I don't remember adding any files to Google Drive. What's going on? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Feb 2020 05:55 AM PST I don't know what to do here. 2 days ago I was trying to update an app and it wouldn't update. The circle just kept spinning around the app icon. This went on for about 8 hours, on and off wifi (I've had this issue updating apps before, but it's never taken that long and I never had to troubleshoot anything). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I tried everything including clearing the cache and clearing storage from the store app - per the "help" section in the damn store. The app finally updated after 8 hours, but now when I try to open the Play store, it freezes on the home page. Here's a screenshot - usually the circle in the middle would spin for a split second and then all the content would populate, but now, that circle just gets to varying degrees of completion and stops (it happens within a split second of opening the store) and the whole thing is frozen, to the point where I can't even back out of it to get to my phone's home screen. Eventually I'll get the "Google play store is not responding" error pop-up, but there's only "close app" and "wait" for options - no "report". The weird thing is that if I click on a link to an app on a website, it'll go to the app on the play store with no problem, and I can search for other apps from there with no issues as well. But if I try to go to the home page, I get the same freezing issue. My problem is that because all the settings were reset when I cleared the storage, it's set to auto-update apps and I do not want that option on. But I can't get into settings to turn it off since I can't go to the main home page. I've tried again to clear the cache (but not the storage) but obviously that hasn't helped. Anyone have any ideas, or seen this before? I also posted this in the Google Play sub, but it's really small and I'm not sure I'll get any answers. ETA - I was able to roll back the updates and the older version works fine. I'm trying to re-update it now to see if it'll work, but of course the update won't download. 😕🙄 [link] [comments] |

How to recover deleted text messages? Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:29 AM PST I've read that deleted text messages can be recovered, that they still exist even when you've deleted them. Tried doing a google search and tried a couple of programs to retrieve them, but it didn't work. It pulled up some old text threads, but obviously I'm looking for something specific with a specific contact from about a month ago, and it didn't restore those messages. Is there anything that actually works? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Feb 2020 09:16 AM PST Hello! I'm currently having an issue on my S10+ where I tap a key on my on my keyboard and it registers that I press it twice. It happens most often with the spacebar, and automatically punctuates afterward. I am currently using Gboard, and after switching back to Samsung Keyboard, the issue remains but happens less. Is anyone else having this issue? Maybe it's my screen protector? Please help! TL;DR: Keyboard registers double press on spacebar. Happens often with Gboard, less with Samsung Keyboard. How to Grandma Proof an Android? Posted: 21 Feb 2020 08:37 AM PST Grandma apparently keeps deleting contacts. Looked into AppLock but apparently it locks the app. How does one set it so she can view contacts and not delete them? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Feb 2020 08:16 AM PST Hello! I'm on a samsung s9 with the default android. I remember when i used to warch videos i could acrub through the video when swiping my fingers from left to right or right to left on the screen. I could also adjust the brightness of the screen when swiping up and down on the right side and the volume on the left side. This feature has dissapeared through the updates and i've never found out how to get it back. Does anyone know how to? It's SOMETIMES still available when viewing certain videos on certain websites. But it isnt there on youtube. It seems like the default web video player isnt always the same? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Feb 2020 08:15 AM PST This is strange, whenever I pause my audio, it doesn't unpause via headphone controls. if I press it again, it plays and then immediately pauses. From this point, turning on the screen or pressing the button a 3rd time will get the audio to play. Any idea why this happens? I'm not even sure where to start to fix this. Galaxy s10 plus. Add color inversion toggle to notification bar without root? Posted: 21 Feb 2020 08:09 AM PST I toggle color inversion quite often but on this Huawei ascend phone running nougat there's no color inversion toggle in the notification bar. When you click the edit icon it's not available as one of the icons in the palette that you can add. The feature is there but you have to dig through the Settings app. Is there any way to add this toggle? I'm not rooted. [link] [comments] |
Running an out-of-date app on current OS Posted: 21 Feb 2020 07:59 AM PST So I've downloaded an old app via apk that is no longer supported, and find that it crashes on startup for my current Android version (10). I was wondering if there's anything available in Android that allows for now unsupported apps to be run (The app in question is pocket planes v1.9.9, don't judge me) Cheers [link] [comments] |
