I just bought an LG TV which, to my dismay, doesn't support cast, but uses proprietary apps for any thing you want to cast. YouTube from the phone launches the YouTube app, Netflix the Netflix app, etc.

Is there a cheap HDMI thing I can buy that will make the TV support cast or Android TV? Also, the fewer things I have to agree to track me, the better.

I am having an issue here.. I know this box supports chromecast, but it only works when I enable wifi tethering, which I am not sure if it is using data. Next month i'll be switching to a limited data plan, and in the coming months I am switching to a plan that expressly forbids tethering. I don't want to use up all my data if I don't have to. I also want to be able to cast offline disney plus content from my tablet. I have an older Madcatz MOJO if that helps too. Is there a way to do like an adhoc connection?

Pluto TV/Live Channels Integration Problem on Shield 2015

On my Shield 2015 with latest non-hotfix firmware and updated apps, Live Channels sees Pluto as a source and loads guide data but when I try to watch a channel I just get an infinite blue loading circle. Tried uninstalling Live Channels and Pluto, granting permissions to Live Channels, etc., but nothing seems to work. I'm about ready to try a factory reset on the Shield. Anyone else experiencing this?

my in-laws are here from china to visit for several months, and they brought a new Mi S from china so they can watch some chinese shows. Everything is set up and and signed in, but they can't watch anything, it keeps telling them they can't watch in this region. Is there a fix for this or somewhat easy hack? the box is all in mandarin, so i can't really help with anything too in depth. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Looks like the problem is not the ATV app but YouTube as a whole in my account, it doesn't want to login on the desktop website either, I'm going to try to contact Google for further assistance.

I'm not asking for help, I just wanted to know if anyone is having the same problem, I click on login button but it goes back on a loop to the same screen, I just found out it doesn't want to login:
