Unknown sketchy app found after latest update Posted: 05 Jan 2020 06:57 AM PST I have a Samsung A50 and my android version is 9, after the latest update I did this morning (CET) an app called Kingdoms self installed on my phone. The thing is that it's not on google play (in the app settings it didn't have a link to its google play page). I scanned my phone with malwarebytes and kaspersky and it wasn't considered a virus. I uninstalled it but it still weirds me out, do you guys know anything about it? The app was Disney themed and it said it was developed by gameloft but eveything was so sketchy and weird that it couldn't possibly be official considering also it's not even on google play. Here's how the icon looked like : Thank you so much in advance guys Edit: It said it was developed by gameloft only when I tried to open it not in the settings, also right after it it asked me to grant location permission and I just quit it. Is it possible to use android without lifting your finger? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 05:43 AM PST I want to use android without lifting my thumb off the screen. It would be similar to the keyboard glide function except it's for the entire phone. It can be difficult for me to lift my fingers regularly and hold my phone and being able to keep a finger on the screen would help. Is there some way to customise touch input to do this?. How to stop Spotify playback after specified duration? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 12:15 AM PST I fall asleep to music sometimes. I'd like to have the app stop playing after an hour or so. How is this accomplished on Android? I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Snapdragon phone and Samsunv Galaxy S3 Tablet. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jan 2020 08:41 AM PST So basically the title. I'm going to another country and can't take my phone with me. I will have another phone with a local SIM card and that (new, local) number will be connected to Whatsapp. So I would like minimum a SMS forwarding app (which I can easily find on Google), but also some way to read and reply to Whatsapp messages. So maybe a remote control, maybe Whatsapp Web/Desktop but I'm afraid that it's disconnect when cookies will expire or something. Additional Info: I'm leaving the phone in my parents house, so I can ask them for some help, but don't want to ask them for help every day or so. Also, it means that it can be connected to their computer, but I would much rather leave it connected to wifi. [link] [comments] |
Ads after third party install. Posted: 05 Jan 2020 04:16 AM PST I was desperate for a cracked version of an app that I was using and couldn't find it on the usual sites that I trusted. I tried a different site that I hadn't used before for APKs and now have various periodic ads over everything on my phone. Some banners, some full screen that tab out of apps, some that force open chrome. I've tried multiple anti viruses that turn up nothing and tried catching it in recently used apps after it displays an ad but nothing displays there either. Wat do? [link] [comments] |
How can I completely prevent my Honor 7x from accessing my location via network? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 12:23 PM PST I want to use a fake GPS app on Tinder. They prevent this via using network location. I've modified the APK with Lucky Patcher to take away that permission, but they still get network location via Google's location services. So how can I fix this and have my phone go ONLY by GPS? Found a folder containing recordings of me saying "Hello?" and "room noise" Posted: 05 Jan 2020 12:20 PM PST I was digging around in my Samsung Galaxy S7 to find old files to delete, and stumbled across a folder called "audio" in my phone storage. This folder contained several files, labeled like "Hello" or "Hello-hello" with some random characters / date etc appended on each file name. Each was a different clip of me saying "Hello?" or "Hello?... Hello??" (labeled appropriately), obviously recorded from when I had answered the phone previously. There were also a couple files called "room noise" which is just a recording of background like fans running etc. I know from video editing that you use "room noise" to fill in background sound when you are cutting together audio, it makes it sound more natural because you don't notice the edited clips cutting off abruptly. This is really suspicious, it seems related to the scam that was going around recently where scammers would call you with a recorded voice saying "Hello??" as if they have a bad connection, to trick you into saying "yes?" so that they can then use your recorded voice to authorize changes to your accounts. I'm not sure how far fetched that is, but I can't think of any good explanation for these recordings. My understanding was that this type of scam call would originate from the scammer's phone. But it seems very much like something is going on where my phone has been used to place this sort of call directly. Does this mean my phone is compromised? Has anyone else had this happen? I searched Google but mostly found articles about Siri or Google Voice storing recordings of voice commands, which this is definitely not. I have never used any voice command services on my phone. I'm probably going to factory reset the phone to be on the safe side. Any thoughts? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
2 Question NetGuard & PUBG Mobile Posted: 05 Jan 2020 12:15 PM PST Hi I have two questions: 1- When I play PUBG Mobile game. A intermittent blue line appears during intermittent periods of time on the left of the screen Example, and then disappears. It causes my phone to slow down so much. How can I remove it? 2- In NetGuard, there is an option for UDP Forwarding, what is its use? Can it really speed up the connection using UDP instead of TCP or not? Example [link] [comments] |
What is the most minimal Android OS in your experience? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 04:43 AM PST I'm talking default {grey-scale, no notifications, simple grid or list layout} I have looked around but i haven't found many options Essentially, a want to use something like Nova Launcher, where i can click the button and the layout and usage transforms to near dumb phone level, but still has maps and things. Maybe this is a downloadable app, maybe its a separate OS, any ideas? [link] [comments] |
At least once a day I get a notification to update google play store; but its updated Posted: 05 Jan 2020 07:38 AM PST Every so often I get that error message upon installing a new app that I need to update the play store before continuing with the app. The only problem is, the play store is updated, activated and functioning just fine. And apps install as well. I tried installing the beta to see if it made a difference, but no avail. Any ideas? It's more annoying than anything. [link] [comments] |
Pixel 2XL screen unresponsive again. Didn't back up whatsapp or Android Messages :( Posted: 05 Jan 2020 11:11 AM PST Hey guys, My screen is unresponsive and I'm about to send it off to Google. I didn't back up my whatsapp or my android messages. I am able to get into recovery mode. My whatsapp is tied to my overseas number. I have lost that sim card long ago. Once I send my phone off, I'll lose access. I had contacts whose numbers I didn't properly save through google. Is there a way to save their messages/numbers in text format to re-add later? With android messages, is it possible to save them through recovery mode adb? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks guys. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jan 2020 06:52 AM PST For example, it used to automatically tag pictures of my dog (and other dogs), but now it doesn't show it in the photo description. I have a Galaxy S10+. Anyone else having this problem? [link] [comments] |
Does Android/Google even allow internal audio recording in the first place? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 03:06 AM PST I'm someone who wanted to make YouTube videos but I am limited to only recording my screen using my android phone (Realme C1). And I have been trying many screen recorders available on the play store but none of them are able to record internal audio (some are able to record internal audio but root is needed and I don't think my phone is rootable). So I wanted to know if Android/Google even allow us recording our screen with the audio internally in the very first place. [link] [comments] |
Google Assistant voice recognition Posted: 05 Jan 2020 04:40 AM PST Hey everyone, Are there any tips on how to communicate with Google Assistant? It has no problem recognising "OK Google" but my commands or sentences seem to be "misunderstood" quite often. I've tried English (possibly my accent) and my native language. Somehow they end up with the same results. The pronunciations of the words it hears usually don't sound close to what I say at all. Any advice on the way I should speak to Google assistant? Unrelated question, why does "Can't reach Google at the moment" pop up so often when I say OK Google after the Android 10 update? It is just me? Any advice would be very appreciated [link] [comments] |
Any app that would allow me to control a cursor by using arrow keys on a keyboard? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 10:22 AM PST The screen is fucked. Can't do anything on the pc because the pc is fucked as well. It's been an awful few days. [link] [comments] |
White bar at the bottom of keyboard, how do I get rid of it? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 10:17 AM PST I'm using a Galaxy S10+ and the Fleksy keyboard. The white bar appeared directly after updating to Android 10.0. The bar is only there when the keyboard is pulled up. Pressing the arrow closes the keyboard. The only thing I've tried so far is restarting my phone. I don't know where to start, so help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jan 2020 10:09 AM PST I have a Galaxy S6 Edge G-925A, and I want to root it and install a custom ROM like LineageOs or RR. Also to help improve the battery. But it seem there is no solution for rooting or even install a custom recovery on this model. I've seen this exact model with custom ROMs but I can't find any useful information. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |

My screen flashes white when turning on the screen. Posted: 05 Jan 2020 09:33 AM PST Hello, I hope anyone can help me. Yesterday I upgraded to Android Q and since then my phone (mate 20 pro) flashes white when I press the power button to unblock the phone. It is a really bright short flash of 2/3 of the screen. I am slowly starting to get headache when unlocking my phone.. I tried to restart and soft reset and deleted my recent downloaded apps. Nothing changed. Is it possible to downgrade again or has anyone found a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |

Live wallpapers only on lockscreen Posted: 05 Jan 2020 09:19 AM PST Hi guys I downloaded a live wallpaper app from the appstore. I tried several different ones, so this is not the problem. I try to set the live wallpaper as my lockscreen wallpaper, but I only get the options "Homescreen" and "Home- and Lockscreen". I got a screenshot attached, but it is in german. https://i.imgur.com/OCaBOr5.jpg I have a rooted Xiaomi Mi 9t pro with Android 10. I also tried it with a Galaxy Note 8 on Android 9 and it is the same behavior. So I think it is a android "problem". I think Google does not want us to have a live wallpaper only at the lockscreen but I really do not know why. If there is any meaningful reason, please tell me. Is there any bypass to get the wallpaper only on the lockscreen? [link] [comments] |

Is there a way to pull security logs off a Galaxy S8? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 09:13 AM PST My phone fell into the wrong hands last night, and unfortunately they knew my pin. I was on the other side of the city, so there's no chance i was responsible for any of the activity at the time. I can see clearly on my Google Account history which apps have been opened and at what time, they're stubbornly refusing to admit this was their doing. I'm wondering if I can generate logs from my phone which timestamps device access? It's most likely unnecessary since Google's information seems pretty pin point, but I would like to confirm that it's not just a random error. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Unable to connect my Xperia XZ2 to any computer. Posted: 05 Jan 2020 03:08 AM PST So I seem to have a very weird issue with the USB connection on my Sony Xperia XZ2 running Android 8.0.0. It refuses to connect or charge on almost any computer. The phone doesn't seem to recognize that it's connected to a computer and won't even charge. The computer doesn't see that my phone is connected either. I tried different USB ports, different computers, and different cables and they all won't connect to the phone. The exception is my laptop, which has a dedicated fast-charging port. When I connect my phone to that port, the phone charges, but it doesn't recognize that it's connected to my laptop and the laptop doesn't see a device connected either. Enabling ADB on my phone doesn't seem to do anything. The strange thing is that almost all other USB functionality works fine on my phone. The phone charges fine from both a normal power brick and a fast charging brick. Both analog and digital based audio adapter dongles works perfectly fine too. USB based Android Auto does not seem to work, but it still charges the phone when I connect my phone to the car. I also noticed that if I plug my phone into a computer while the phone is off, it would briefly wake up to the Sony logo and have the charging light come on for a few seconds until the screen changes to the battery percentage. Booting up my phone while plugged in doesn't seem to fix the issue. I've already tried spraying electrical contact cleaner into the USB port and also tried cleaning the port with a small plastic zip tie. I don't know how long my phone has been like that since it's been over a month since I last connected it to my computer. I don't know anything else I could do besides resetting the firmware, doing a firmware update, or sending in my phone to Sony for repairs. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm willing to try it. Posted: 05 Jan 2020 09:04 AM PST I'm using a Huawei Nova 3, Pie version, and I just got a case that's a little too thick to be used. I'm trying to find Glove mode but I can't. If it's removed, I need a substitute that's easy to use. [link] [comments] |
