Posted: 02 Jan 2020 09:13 AM PST So I broke my Samsung Galaxy A40, and the mobile company offered that I could send the broken phone back to them, and get some of my money back. However, in order to send it back, it has to be reset to factory settings. Since it is broken, there is no way of doing this on the phone itself. So I was wondering if it's possible to factory reset it using a computer or other phone, or anything at all? It is android version 9. If you require any more information I will try to find it!! | Posted: 01 Jan 2020 11:47 PM PST There is somebody who has littered right outside my front door 6 times now. It is getting annoying, and the apartment management might not deal with it. I want to get evidence of them in the act and find out who exactly is doing it. I have a Galaxy S7, and a place with a socket nearby so I can have it charged. I need to be able to continually record and have a live feed to my PC so I can monitor my phone in case somebody tries to take it. The area will have wifi. The littering only happens at 1 to 3 am in a low traffic area, so the risk of somebody stealing it is low, but not 0. I can also be there in about 15 seconds or less, so unless they take it and immediately run off, I can confront anybody who picks it up Any ideas for what I can do? Edit: I have tried IP Webcam, and it works, but the video is very choppy and low quality because it is being streamed over Wifi then being recorded from my PC. I'd like an option that stores recordings locally so there isn't any choppiness, if possible [link] [comments] |

I also downloaded the T-Mobile FamilyWhere app, but it stopped locating my phone as soon as I called them and told them it was stolen so they stopped the SIM Card from working and also that stopped me from being able to track it. Has anyone had any success recovering a stolen phone with the police? How did you convince them to retrieve it from the thief's location? [link] [comments] |

| 2 files are now available offline Posted: 02 Jan 2020 11:03 AM PST The tile is directly translated from Dutch, I'm not sure how it will show up on English devices. For a couple of months I receive this strange notification which says I have 2 new files available offline. When I check out which files it are, the files are really old drive files (2016-2017). I have no idea why my android phone does that or how to turn it of. I don't want my phone to randomly download old files from my drive and make them available for me offline... I'm using a Samsung A50 and I have downloaded my songs on my Apple Music but the album art or cover does not load smoothly with it. On some occassions, it will just show the Apple Music logo when I'm offline meaning the artwork didn't load together with the song. My phone is a Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 (ZB631KL) Here's my big problem : I was using my phone normally, then i went to play a game on my PC, then i came back to my phone (wich nobody used beside me) and while it was working fine before, now it was in a mode called ''csc fastboot mode'', I don't know what that really is and i've never set that up nor even turned off my phone. I tried rebooting it, it just boots into the same mode, when the phone is plugged it bootloops itself into that mode as well I can access Recovery mode with power + down, i've asked some really nice people for help and we tried some methods, like going into recovery mode with files ect and doing ''adb devices" in a CMD, but while the pc does find the phone, the CMD says ''list of devices found" and nothing is there. we tried installing the google drivers too but to no avail... I am not sure what to do now, i really REALLY need to not lose my phone data/files as i have very important things in there, I can only count on others now, thank you for your time !! | Posted: 02 Jan 2020 08:37 AM PST I just bought the Sony Xperia XZ Premium 64GB and it's a cracking phone. Love it! Everything is perfect with the exception of one minor problem. When I'm in Facebook Messenger and I go to record video, with or without filters, it plays the first 1-2 seconds then the video freezes. You can still hear the audio, though. Any idea what might be causing this? I have tried changing resolution, tried changing from h264 to h265 and vice versa but nothing seems to work. I can view the videos no problemon my phone. Posted: 02 Jan 2020 07:11 AM PST Hi all, I decided to master reset my Xiaomi Pocofone F1 over Christmas to see if it helped with a random crash/reboot issue I've been having (seems better!) but I have an issue. My contacts are all stored on my corporate 365 account, which I access via Outlook on the phone (as I did before). Now, I have ~300 contacts appeared in my phone, but loads of them are old and I have a huge raft of texts/calls from unknown numbers which are definitely people in my contacts (they appear in the Outlook app, and in OWA/Exchange) but not on the phone. I don't want to enable the option in the Outlook app to sync contacts as this just copies them locally to the phone. I'd rather the phone properly syncs with one master contact source (Exchange) and I can add/remove from my phone, or Oulook. Any ideas what to check next? [link] [comments] |

I need to use Android Device Manager on one of my device, however I cannot get access to the device because Android Device Manager only lets you see one device at a time. I tried to find some sort of a list to get to my other device that I need to get access to, but I couldn't find anything that could help me. | Recovering data from a deleted app Posted: 02 Jan 2020 06:24 AM PST So this is a little long-winded, but I'll lead with a tl;dr. TL;DR: I accidentally deleted an app - Signal - and about 5g of historical message data as well. I feel like I've messed with it too much to be able to recover the data, but I have an export of /dev/blocks/dm-1 which is where I believe Signal kept the data. Can I recover anything? I'll keep this short, because it's a saga. Basically, this is a friend's android, an LG K10 w/16GB of storage. She's run it completely full, most of it being about 5GB of Signal chat logs which she didn't want to lose. Signal is a notorious bastard when it comes to using built-in backup tools to back it up. It's also terrible at using it's in-app backup system; until mid 2018 it wouldn't back up to external SD cards. Due to her overfull phone, she hadn't upgraded to the version that would. I managed to use ADB to stream an updated version in place and got her updated, but unfortunately her 5GB still choked the in-app backup system. Because they'd disabled adb pull or any external backup systems, I decided to try a little trick I'd read in that thread above: download an older version of the apk, uninstall the current one (retaining data), reinstall the older version, run the backup, return to the newer version. I uninstalled using the ADB shell (being extremely careful to use the -k switch), and then attempted to reinstall the downgrade, at which point ADB complained: INSTALL_FAILED_VERSION_DOWNGRADE. Okay, so Nougat deprecated the -d switch in apps not marked as "debuggable", but an uninstall of an app should allow the install of a downgraded version, right? Maybe I hadn't uninstalled it correctly? I checked in the phone itself, and in the Apps list the APK was still listed - org.thoughtcrime.securesms. Here's where I made the mistake: I attempted to uninstall it from the GUI, presuming the app would ask me if I wanted to retain the data. It did not. I informed my friend it was probably hopeless, so everything now is a hail-mary. I've been following this guide, for the most part, but I panicked and I believe I might've screwed things up further.

They open and all, but when I launch the duplicate Fate_GO it just stays on a black screen forever until I click my home button. Any other ways to duplicate apps?
