| Posted: 18 Jan 2020 01:56 AM PST XDA and Reddit tells me that greenify is obsolete at maybe even counter productive in Android 10 (and most like since previous Android versions). Alright I can live with that. How ever, since I didn't install greenify on my Pixel 4, I notice how all my installed apps are running in the backround because e.g. when connecting my bluetooth headphones or connecting my car via bluetooth, VLC will run "scanning for media" or sygic navigation tries to "scanning for smartlink" or whatever. This is annoying because:
So without greenify, is there any other way to stop those apps from doing that? Probably only by disabling them and manually enabling them when I actually need them? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 18 Jan 2020 07:29 AM PST Gallery go app by application is surprisingly very small in size and yet can accurately group faces of different people, animals, food etc. And the most surprising thing of all is that it doesn't use any internet. Posted: 18 Jan 2020 12:18 PM PST Basically, I want to only use the Imgur app to upload photos, and just use Chrome for the few-and-far-between occasions that I'd want to view something on Imgur (for instance, to get a direct link to the image). Issue is, all Imgur links always opens up in the Imgur app instead of Chrome. I've checked through the settings, but I can't for the life of me find where to change it (that being said, I'm absolutely terrible at finding things in lists, so apologies if it's really obvious lmao). | How to completely reset a phone for resale? Posted: 18 Jan 2020 09:50 AM PST My grandfather passed last month. One thing we'd like to do is sell his phone since it's no longer needed. I had imagined doing a hard reset of it would be enough, but on the initial setup, it still asks about the previous e-mail. While I do know he had a yahoo account, I don't have any information on what his google account may have been. Is there a more thorough way to reset the phone specifically so I can resell it? | Posted: 18 Jan 2020 09:50 AM PST Alright everyone, I am almost to my wits end on this little adventure. Last night my phone started having this super white bar in the bottom portion of the screen (only around where the navigation "buttons" are). It's brighter than my flashlight and I feel like it is making my screen less responsive but I could be imagining that. The phone is an S10+ running the latest available version of android 10 for US Cellular users. I had been using Nova launcher and some slight mods in that bit I have uninstalled that in an attempt to trouble shoot. It started last night when I was shoveling. It is like a strobe light when charging (always on display enabled) but when the phone is asleep or off the light is gone. I've tried restarting the phone. I've tried wiping the cache. I've tried booting into safe mode. Is there anything else a not-terribly-tech-literate curmudgeon like myself can try? Sorry to ask this question as someone who has never participated in this community before but I only just found it. And honestly i don't think i would have much to add. I have an S8 and android 9 and cant find this option. I've had my phone on Transfer Files mode and still no results. | Facebook Messenger not getting game notifications Posted: 18 Jan 2020 08:38 AM PST This is kinda dumb but I've been trying to play some of those games that are built into FB Messenger (specifically Draw Something) but whenever someone takes a turn and then it's my turn, it puts a message in the chat saying so but I don't get a notification, I have to check the chat manually. All other messages come through, and I've checked that the "Receive Messages" is ticked, and in my Android notification settings for Messenger, everything is turned on. However I can toggle the negative colour accessibility features to turn the white system apps dark.
