Even if it's just sitting on my desk without any input it will turn on location service, seemingly at random. If I click on Location > Details and look at Recent location requests, the only ones I'm seeing are "Google Play Service" and "IMS Service". I'm not allowed to disable location for Google Play Service, and the IMS Service doesn't even have it enabled in the first place. Is there any way to track what sort of apps are actually requesting location service, and to stop them from doing so? System: Galaxy S7, SM-G930A, Android 8.0.0, AT&T carrier. I'll also add that the issue has been going on for a long time, across several restarts of the phone. Thanks for any help! [link] [comments] |
| OneUI 2.0 has caused my keyboard to move on my screen Posted: 27 Dec 2019 06:30 AM PST After the OneUI 2.0 update, the Google keyboard in vertical mode has moved upwards by about a cm, with a black bar at the bottom of the screen now. I'm looking for something under £300 with a great camera, waterproof, good storage and not too smashable. | Fastboot-loop after installing LineageOS Posted: 27 Dec 2019 02:44 AM PST Hi everyone! I'm reinstalling LineageOS on my Oneplus 6T. At the moment I've managed to get TWRP working and sideloading LineageOS. After the sideload is complete and I reboot, the phone does not want to boot into the OS. I'm still able to enter recovery without issues, but I have no idea what to do from here. I suspect the error is the A/B partition scheme but as stated, I don't know what to do about it. | I used to be able to rename apps. Posted: 27 Dec 2019 07:13 AM PST Now the option is gone and I have forced default names. How do I fix this? I have apps with 1 character forced to a new line. I updated this morning and now it wont let me change names of apps any more. I see posts from 5+ years ago asking this, and recommending the nexus launcher. It showed a blue screen saying something about a modem crash. Here's a picture of the screen. I've since taken the battery out and back in, and successfully restarted it. It no longer automatically connects to them like it used to and when it does connect it will only connect to one earbud. I have to manually connect to the other. | Phone doesn't display USB notification when connected to a computer Posted: 27 Dec 2019 04:00 AM PST Good day folks, happy whatever to all of you. I have a Samsung A5 2017 with LineageOS 16 on it. I had no issues to speak of for a long time, but lately one weird one has popped up. Whenever I connect the phone to a computer via a cable, the notification to change to file transfer mode etc doesn't show up, so I can't transfer files directly. The phone still charges, and I can connect a regular USB drive to the phone using an adaptor and I can transfer files to it that way, but its a bit of a chore and I would prefer to be able to do so directly. I have tried:
So far, no sugar. Its not a breaking issue, since I can use my USB drive to transfer files, but its annoying, and quite perplexing. Any assistance is welcome. And thanks once again! EDIT: It seems that the USB connection is iffy too. Sometimes it reads fine, some other times I need to remove it, plug it in, remove it, plug it in a few times till it starts working. I have the suspicion this problem arose after messing around with Gapps and Youtube Vanced, but I am not sure how I could even fix it, and I would like to avoid a wipe on the phone [link] [comments] |

I received this Android box for Christmas, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. I have bluetooth speaker that I've paired to it because I'd like to have sound coming from the TV as well as the speaker on the opposite end of the room for a sort of faux surround sound. The only information i have found said it wasn't possible but it was from 3 years ago (i think). However on this phone it has some odd flickering issue. It flashes just a shade darker briefly every second or two. I've given the app all permissions available. The screen doesn't flicker with it turned off. I've tried using the stock nightlight but it doesn't redshift the hue very much. I've googled the issue but haven't seen anything to help yet. | Android tablet inaccurate screen colors Posted: 27 Dec 2019 11:17 AM PST Hello. I have recently bought Alcatel 3T 8" tablet and the white color on my screen is leaning towards grayish. In other words, it is not a clear white. On my old lenovo tablet, the white is a clear white. Both of the tablets have IPS screens. So, I do not understand. Some colors on my Alctatel 3T 8" on apps are displayed but they are like a very dull version of those colors. Video playback colors are great but there is a very tiny difference between this tablet and my old lenovo tablet. Can someone explain what I am experiencing please? Thanks for your feeback. Any ideas how to troubleshoot this? A while back, in an effort to save battery life, I think I tried to get cute fiddle with the 'run app in background' settings. Although I'm not sure what I did exactly. Maybe that is related to this issue? If that is indeed important, how can I check to see if those settings are configured properly? I unfortunately purchased the phone in Vietnam, and I don't speak/read/understand Vietnamese, so support has been difficult to contact. | Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:58 AM PST My s10 back has tiny dot like scratches even after using a Spigen Tough Armour. They are like tiny dots as if someone dropped diamonds with their sharp edge down from a height on the back. There are around 8-9 dots which are not very deep, can't feel with my fingernail but can be felt if I use a sharp object like a plastic toothpick. I bought the case with the phone itself so that it gets the protection from day one. Now I am thinking about getting a transparent carbon fibre skin that comes as a pack of 3 for $5.99 as a protection for the back as the back is very much prone to scratches. | Lenovo P2 occasionally flickers black screen and sometimes becomes unresponsive when Sim is inserted Posted: 27 Dec 2019 08:46 AM PST On Lenovo P2 i had the latest stock rom and at some point the phone started occassionally flashing a black screen for half a second, sometimes the whole screen, sometimes the parts of the screen (full screen width, limited height-like a box), Then sometimes just freezing the touch screen to be unresponsive (side buttons were still responsive just fine like nothing is wrong). It's having the latest P2a42 kernel and i just installed TWRP and LineageOS 16, but the problem is still the same.When i inserted the sim and rebooted, the screen became unresponsive, but when i took out the sim and rebooted, it was again responsive. The flickering happens anyway. Can i do anything to fix it ?
