| Redmi note 8 stuck in boot loop after removing a few apps via adb. Posted: 14 Dec 2019 07:10 AM PST The phone is stuck on the loading screen when booting. Turning it off restarts the phone.. I removed Mi apps thinking it wasnt needed. Along with a few others. Though im pretty sure its stuck cuz it needs mi apps.. When holding volume down and power i get the fastboot screen but no menu. So i cant pretty much do anything. Its stuck on either redmi boot or fastboot screen... What can I do? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 06:08 AM PST I'm using a xiaomi mi 8 SE with the xiaomi.eu custom ROM and I'm having storage issues lately as it says that it's almost full. I checked the disk usage and it says that those logs take almost 27GB of storage. I don't think they're meant to but I don't know enough about it to know if I can safely delete them. | Posted: 14 Dec 2019 07:03 AM PST Some more info. I had to replace the original battery about 8 months ago it would die immediately if it wasn't plugged in, it has been working fine. When i haven't used Bluetooth in a few days when i turn it on it sometimes freezes and crashes then works fine. This happened just after i had shut off the speaker then i got the delete files message. I am pretty sure i had about 500mb to 1gb of free space, may have been wrong however. The phone actually gets into the pin insert and past it if i am quick but still restarts itself again. I have tried letting it die, removing sim and micro sd cards, and fully charging it I left it charge overnight but it had only reached 77%. I also tried clearing cache and rebooting from the recovery mode, and safe mode did nothing either. Also after removing the sim and micro sd i can no longer get past the pin insert it reboots too fast now. I have not been able to have it turn off and stay turned off aside from when i let the battery die. I do not want to wipe the phone i have data on it that i don't have elsewhere. It is not flashed with anything it is on the stock EMUI or whatever its called. [link] [comments] |

I remember reading a few weeks ago about a setting that can split audio, or different apps to play through a different speaker (for example having spotify on my bluetooth speaker, but everything notification related on my phone, so i can still hear when i get a notification, but so it doesn't stop the music) but can't seem to find it, can someone tell me where i can find this setting, and if it even exists. | No internet when connected to hotspot Posted: 14 Dec 2019 10:02 AM PST I'm trying to use my phone as a WiFi hotspot. The laptop says that it is connected, but my browsers will not load anything. I don't think this is an issue with the laptop, as I have tried to connect an old phone to the hotspot in the past, with no success. I tried to search, and some posts said to add "dun" to the APN, but if I try to do this, it resets to the default ".VZWENTP". | Posted: 14 Dec 2019 12:44 AM PST A friend has been trying to quit smoking weed, and deleted their dealer's phone number some time ago. However, when the urge to smoke became too strong they figured out that they could restore their contacts from a backup of an old phone, bringing their dealer's number back. We are trying to figure out a way to delete these old backups. Their current phone is a Pixel 3a, and the backups are from an Oppo A1601 (long since thrown out) and a ZTE Blade A520 (still accessible). When using their phone they are going Settings > Google > Set Up & Restore > Restore Contacts - this is what they see. From there they can restore the contacts, but there is no option to delete these backups from there. We have tried going into Google Drive, then in the sidebar going to "Backups". This is what we see there - the two older backups from the Oppo and the ZTE Blade are not present. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as being unable to fully get rid of their dealer's number has caused them to relapse a number of times. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 14 Dec 2019 05:30 AM PST Hi there - I am in need of the brilliant minds of this sub to help with a problem As the title says, we have a 10yo daughter that has not acted responsibly with the tablet we bought her 2 years ago, so we need to move to more drastic measures. BACKGROUND: Our daughter, who is an awesome kid in most everything else, cant follow the rules when it comes to her android tablet. This is the 3rd time we have confiscated it, this time due to sexting with someone over the xbox chat app, doxing a fellow elementary schoolmate, and looking up sexually explicit content. We have blocked the content when we caught her before, but took the opportunity to explain that she can come to us to discuss sexual (or any) questions in an effort to show her we try to be sex-positive parents. The doxing and sexting is what really got it taken away and it has been months without it. QUESTION: I am looking to lock down her device, so that she can only text certain numbers, call certain numbers and access certain sites/apps. I tried the Google Family Link, but that was more of a warning than blocking app.i can figure out the app/browsing restriction, but need help on the calling/texting. There are a number of names that I have come across that I suspect are just different ways of saying the same thing...
Basically to a humble noob these all seem like creative ways of referring to a 'library' of API's and programs that 3rd party applications require access to in order to function on your device. However I also seem to have jotted down a quote that suggest that Google Play Services provides the API's and Googles core services are just programs that run in the background on your phone that 3rd party applications require access to via said API's "Google Play Services is a package of API's which among other things allow 3rd party applications to interact with Googles core services" If you guys could clear this up for me that would be really handy! | Is the youtube app extremely laggy after the latest update? Posted: 14 Dec 2019 05:59 AM PST I updated the Youtube app a week ago and I've noticed an issue that really gets on my nerves. After using the app for about 20 minutes everything starts to lag horribly and the only solution is restarting the app. I even tried clearing all data for the yt app and it still does the same. I uninstalled all updates and guess what, it works perfect now. No other app on my phone does such thing. Is anyone else having the same? | Turn on Ringer automatically after setting to vibrate after an hour Posted: 14 Dec 2019 05:21 AM PST Most of the times I forget to set my phone back to ringer after putting it on vibrate or mute. If I'm in a meeting or someplace, I need it silent, but after an hour it should go back to the ringer mode. I can create a "bixby routine", the phone's a Samsung s10 (not rooted, and I don't want to root it either). But that still doesn't activate on its own.
