| Posted: 23 Dec 2019 07:49 PM PST The title says it. I can download (save) and XML file but that has no formatting and the online converters for XML to CVS or PDF are a mess. Is there an app I can get that will download a full SMS conversation with all formatting/dates so it's easy for the lawyers to read? Any help would be great. Posted: 24 Dec 2019 11:52 AM PST If there's ever been one thing that bothers me most about android, it's that when you have an incoming call, you can't use your phone at all until you reject it, answer it, or let it pass. Does anyone know if there's a setting I can change to prevent the incoming call screen from seizing my phone? I know the simple solution is to just reject the call, but I don't always want to gvie the caller the implication that I'm shutting them off. I just want to be able to set my phone to silent without waiting out the long ringtone. I feel like there was a custom rom I used on an old phone that didn't do this and I don't understand why that isn't standard. Edit: I have a Note 9 running Android Version 9 and Kernel version 4.9.112, but this has always been an issue I've had with stock android. | Posted: 24 Dec 2019 11:31 AM PST I've been doing the rewards surveys for a few years and use that money for paid apps and in app purchases. I got my two kids android tablets and went to buy a few games to put on their tablet (family account) and I'm not getting the option to use my Google play balance anymore. I have $40+ in rewards so I have enough to cover what I'm buying. I'm also in the US (most of my Google searches were people in other countries having problems.) Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks! | Is free form working on Android (TV) Pie? Posted: 24 Dec 2019 11:14 AM PST Settings>Developer options>Force apps to be resizable. IS NOT WORKING on my device but that shouldn't be a problem. There is ADB CMD command "adb shell settings put global enable_freeform_support 1" but I haven't tried it yet on my ATV Smart Box. I didn't wanted to maybe risk something if free form is totally abandoned in Android Pie. I read somewhere that it's abandoned in Android Pie and it's working only in Android 7 & 8. Posted: 24 Dec 2019 10:19 AM PST Hello, I've been using Nova Launcher and Button Mapper for years and it comes with one handy feature which is Activity launcher. I am able to create shortcuts to any hidden app/settings and sometimes I can even make shortcut within app depending on which activities that app has. Does anyone knows is it possible to create custom shortcut activities on Android 9 and Android TV 9? Let's make few examples if you don't understand what I mean: Shortcut that directly opens YouTube subscriptions/watch later, Shortcut that directly opens HBO GO favorites, Shortcut that directly opens "Downloads" in any file manager etc. Some apps already have those activities and it's pretty cool to make shortcuts with them on my Android TV Box remote control, while some apps don't have those activities at all except main one. There is one more example, I use one app called EON TV and in order to go to "Favorites" I need to click over 8 times through UI to see Favorites list. Can I just somehow make custom activity that leads to favorites and map it with Button Mapper on my remote? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Only basic stuff, access contacts, how to answer calls and how to enter whatsapp to see pictures we send him. | Can't use backups on new device Posted: 24 Dec 2019 09:57 AM PST So recently my software/hardware/phone crashed and was unrecoverable so I had to start fresh. Upon further inspection of my drive I see the two backups I want to use/restore from (one or the other) but when I go to the restore function on my phone it says no backups. Not even the currently recent and being updated regularly one. I need this back up and it says it will expire in 34 days. What do I have to do to use one or the other backups I want to use? Phone is an LG G8 thinQ using Android 9 from T-Mobile. Everything is up to date. Nothing shows up under the restore function/page when I go to it on my phone. [link] [comments] |

| Blocking the In-App Snapchat Browser Posted: 24 Dec 2019 09:46 AM PST Hello all. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I need some help. I want to be able to disable the in-app Snapchat browser. As in I don't want to be able to open web links in Snapchat, or at least force them to be opened in an external browser app like Chrome. I have been fruitless in finding a way to do this so far and there is very little information I've found from Googling. I'm on an Samsung Galaxy J7 (though soon to be upgraded) if that helps. It's unlocked afaik but I sometimes have an issue downloading very popular/common apps because the app "isn't available in my country". | Son's Google Duo Automatically Called Me Posted: 23 Dec 2019 08:59 PM PST So this morning I was up early scrolling through Facebook and all of a sudden I received a Duo video call from my son's phone. I knew he was asleep so I rushed into his room and saw that his cell phone screen was on (but on the lock screen). It appears his Duo app somehow called me by itself. I'm curious if this was just a random bug or if his account could be compromised. My coworkers think that maybe he talked in his sleep and said "Dad" in a sentence and voice assist may have triggered the call but I'm not sure if he has voice assist enabled.. I'll have to go check. | Posted: 24 Dec 2019 03:53 AM PST Using LineageOS 16.0 on Redmi Note 4 (mido). I've updated the Simple Calendar app through APKUpdater 2.0.2 to v5.1.4 but now it's immediately crashes when opened. Also I'm unable to downgrade. It either says "App wasn't installed" or nothing happens when trying to install. I really need my dates back, so installing another app isn't an option. | Google pay not working on my phone when on Android 10 Posted: 24 Dec 2019 07:02 AM PST Just recently I have updated my Samsung S10 to android 10 via one UI 2.0 the full release one. Since the past 3 days I was trying to use it and it was coming with errors in the terminal or my Google pay screen say will have a ! On the circle.
