how do I make sure I don't brick my device while rooting and installing twrp and custom ROMs? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 03:05 AM PST So I'm getting a galaxy s6 and I want to root it and install twrp and flash a rom to it. But I don't want to brick it so how can I make sure I won't brick it during the process? EDIT: so I made a little tutorial. would it work: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U1U6O_aq8BOLCIGY0qmQGXFUq52KZ7S1/view [link] [comments] |
Switched to a Note9, and I have a few questions Posted: 01 Dec 2019 07:30 AM PST I don't like Bixby, like most, and I have no idea how disable Bixby, or at least somehow program it to only have the ability to activate Google Assistant. Can someone please tell me how. It would also be nice to know how to root my phone to activate substratum and the Pixel Theme. [link] [comments] |
Google working on ‘Fast Share,’ Android Beam replacement and AirDrop competitor Posted: 01 Dec 2019 04:55 AM PST I came across this while searching for ways to "AirDrop" on Android: https://ww.9to5google.com/2019/06/29/google-android-fast-share/ Does anyone know if this will be released soon or is Google going to release it with the next version of Android? I've been in the Apple ecosystem for the last 5 years and I'm a bit underwhelmed with the iPhone Xs (lightning cable, still no app drawer). I'm trying to organize my productivity setup so I only carry a USB-C cable (like my iPad Pro and next TBD laptop). I just bought a OnePlus 7T and I'm quite excited about the features it has. However, there are some convenience features like AirDrop that make working on Macs a great experience. Edit: Does anyone know if it's going to be compatible with Apple and Microsoft devices or only Google devices? [link] [comments] |
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Root Failed - Help Please! Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:53 AM PST Hello all, tried to root my galaxy note 4 using Odin and it failed, I'm certain it was the correct .md5 file, the build number, OS version and model number were all perfect. I tried using two USB ports and no luck! I have posted a link to screen capture of Odin below. I'd appreciate if someone could advise me the best way to proceed. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 10:55 AM PST I use my phone to record live music footage more than I use it for anything else. Having a good microphone is crucial but it seems like most manufacturers don't even bother listing microphone specs. Video from my LG G6 sounds great (but looks awful😬) and the spec sheet lists this: HD Audio Recorder 24bit / 192KHz FLAC Hi-Fi Record with high AOP Mic Up to 132dB Is there any kind of resource that will help me find this information for other phones and compare them? I'm not that interested in bringing an external mic with me everywhere I go unless that's really my best option. I've looked through gsmarena and a few manuals but I've had no luck with some of the big brands. help? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:37 AM PST My phone had asked if I wanted to back up my photos which I allowed it to do. The issue is I cannot find the backed up photos anywheres. Where can I find them or how can I recover them? [link] [comments] |
Slow connection, possibly worn out antenna, Help Please! Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:31 AM PST Hi there, So since I have and unlimited data plan I use my phone (Honor 9, 2 and a half years old) as a mobile hotspot for everything, but recently I've noticed that the connection is getting slower and even during speedtests I went from 70/80mbps over 4G coverage (which should be good as I'm in Dublin city) to barely 10mbps or lower. Now I've used the hotspot daily over the past 2 years and Im concerned my phone antenna might be worn out, hence the bad connection. Also under the same conditions (location, network) a friend of mine got significantly faster connection with his Oneplus 6T. Now my question is: how do I get faster connection, is upgrading my phone my only option? (considering my friends phone results) Should be noted that: - In the situation I'm in I can't have a broadband so mobile networks are my only option. - I've checked hotspot amplifiers but they are way too expensive, for that price I'd rather get a new phone which I was gonna do anyway in about 6 months. Thanks for your help 🙏 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 07:40 AM PST This Nokia has just 32 GB storage , so I use a card as default storage for all media; I also transfer back and forth with pc frequently. Is there an estimated card life for this type of use ? While we're here, does brand matter? Thanks for sharing! (or directing, if there is a better source or sub) [link] [comments] |
Rapidly changing camera resolution Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:18 AM PST I know this is a stretch but I share a lot of videos on Snapchat with my friends. My default camera settings are all set at the Max at 4k 60fps for video. Unfortunately Snapchat crashes/doesn't send videos of that quality. It only sends them in FHD. My question is this -is there any way/app I can use to double click my power button to open up my camera quickly with FHD video settings already set but without disturbing my main camera settings? It is a hassle changing the settings each time. [link] [comments] |

Can't use my google balance in the play store gSuite account Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:03 AM PST Hey everyone, I have been using my .edu email for my android phone for 5 years now... I have like 20 dollars on my google play account and I can't use them to purchase apps. When I tap on purchase, I am asked to put my password, and when I do I get an error "Incorrect Password" I made sure I'm using the correct password :/ Is there anyway to get around this? When does Google Maps stop sharing location when using Trip Progress? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 06:58 AM PST So there's two options to share your location with someone. A time based location sharing and then there's an option to share trip progress when you're navigating. When does the share trip progress stop sharing location? When you arrive at your destination and if so does the person you're sharing with get an alert? I tried using the share trip progress recently and my friend said she couldn't see my location anymore but it was after I had arrived. Seems like odd behavior for the app to immediately stop sharing location data right when you arrive. I'm not sure if maybe she missed a notification or if this is intended behavior. Sim locked after factory reset. Help needed. Posted: 01 Dec 2019 10:35 AM PST I got a samsung j7 refine recently, it came with the carrier unlocked. I factory reset it cause it had my dad's google play music account which synced to my whole Google account. I couldn't remove it without permanently deleting it. That is why I factory reset. I did all of the start up tasks and I realized I had no cellular signal. It was locked and I payed a hefty amount for it to be unlocked. It was unlocked from the carrier sprint. Sprint is not available in my state so I do not know what to do. It is the samsung galaxy j7 refine rose-ish gold. 32 GB memory, 2 GB ram, 5.5 inch screen, locked to sprint unless I set the sim to GSM. What do I do? [link] [comments] |

Bluetooth microphone not working Posted: 01 Dec 2019 09:31 AM PST I have 2 pairs of bluetooth headphones, each with a built-in microphone. My phone (galaxy s10) however, refuses to use those microphones. When I plug in wired headphones I can use the mic without a problem. But when I connect my bluetooth headphones, the microphone simply doesn't work. I've looked through every option but can't seem to find a way to use the microphone. Does android10/samsung even support bluetooth microphones? Is there any option I've overlooked? [link] [comments] |
I'm going to use a different appstore Posted: 01 Dec 2019 09:15 AM PST I'm going to use open source appstore Aurora. Will google blacklist me for logging into it or is there a way to get away with it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 09:09 AM PST In cause of the TWRP unofficial Problem on Android 10. I rooted my Phone with the help of an auto install .jar... Magisk got installed and everything was fine for a while... But I experienced some problems with my OnePlus 7t Pro by editing the System Root directory. Because it tells me that the directory is mounted as read only... So I searched the web about it and they told me that I've to run this command: "adb disable-verity" to fix it. But on my Magisk Manager is "Preserve Force Encryption" and "Preserve AVB 2.0/dm-verity" activated. And I don't want to crash my OS. Does Anyone has a Solution for me ;-) [link] [comments] |

Is this normal brand new Samsung A10... Posted: 01 Dec 2019 08:14 AM PST |
Posted: 01 Dec 2019 07:19 AM PST So yesterday I downloaded a game called Popscene (totally safe, got it from the Google Play store). Normal game, basically you have a music career and hire talents and stuff. A feature of the game is adding MP3 songs to the game. I downloaded some MP3s of a few older songs from a website called MP3Paw and added them to the game. And now every now and then I get around 5 or 6 notifications that I think might be adware. The link for the image of the notifications is below. Can someone tell me what this is and how I can fix it? [link] [comments] |
