Everytime I disconnect from a WiFi, I have to reboot the phone to make it connect to 4G Posted: 10 Dec 2019 02:30 AM PST Hello all, I have this issue where every single time the phone disconnects from a WiFi, it doesn't automatically lock to the local 4G network (or 3G for that matter). I can still make and receive calls and send SMS but I have no internet: on the display I can see the bars but not the "4G" indication. However, if I reboot the phone all comes back to normality and I have internet connectivity over 4G as intended, until it finds a WiFi network to connect, and I have to reboot it again and so on. What could be a possible cause? SPECS: Nokia 3.1, Android 9, carrier is Iliad (Italy). THINGS I ALREADY TRIED: make my carrier send the configs again, try to set them up manually, change SIM slot. [EDIT] OTHER THINGS I TRIED: Airplane mode on/off, Data off/on. [link] [comments] |
How can I completely remove the work profile from my phone? Posted: 10 Dec 2019 10:52 AM PST I have a Samsung galaxy s9, running Android 9. I somehow created a work profile, but then disabled it. I still see it when I go to my list of apps, and the work apps in it are grayed out. How can I remove it completely? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Dec 2019 09:02 AM PST I recently upgraded the 256gb SD card to a 512gb card on my Nintendo Switch. I didn't want the 256gb card lying around my house unused so I decided upgrade my phones 32gb card to the 256gb card. So I now have over 200gb free to use with my phone. My main question is that is their a way to download apps from the play store directly onto the SD card? Cause right now my phones internal 32gb is critically low and a few apps that I want to play needs at least a few gigs to run properly but idk what to remove to clear out memory space. Want to feel good about my purchase. Posted: 09 Dec 2019 08:32 PM PST I recently bought the Asus ROG Phone 2 for 500$. It being the fastest phone on the market and being sold for 500 usd for the 8gb/128gb model, my mind was pretty clear set on it. It has clean stock like android and other things that sweeten up the deal. Now the fact that the new flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 865 has dropped, i was feeling down about my purchase. Did i make a wrong decision not waiting for 865 phones? [link] [comments] |
Outlook email notifications when NO INTERNET!!! Posted: 10 Dec 2019 08:21 AM PST Samsung Note 4 - Happens when I disconnect from wifi at work. Even in airplane mode I'll continue to get pushes of old emails (1 or 2 at a time) from previously in the day. Happens for like 5 or 10 minutes as I'm walking out the building... [link] [comments] |
Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting Posted: 10 Dec 2019 10:08 AM PST I have an A70 that was working perfectly fine for a few months, until recently the wifi connection will completely for about a minute at a time, as often as every few minutes. Its 100% not a problem with the internet itself and is something wrong with my phone, as every other device I have works fine. I didn't go changing any settings, AFAIK this just started happening one day. [link] [comments] |
VMOS Virtual Root Android on Android app Posted: 09 Dec 2019 11:28 PM PST VMOS Virtual Root Android on Android app. Now this app claims it will help me run rooted apps on an un-rooted phone. I use the Lenovo K8 Note so I have minimum system required to run this app.

Posted: 10 Dec 2019 05:27 AM PST All of my friends and family use iPhone. Every once in a while I will miss group chats, and videos I send or receive turn into potatoes. I know this is common bc of how iMessage works. If I start using RCS, will this fix those issues? Or not because the benefits are only RCS <--> RCS, not RCS <--> iMessage? Side question: Is RCS in general worth ditching Textra for? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Dec 2019 09:12 AM PST So I own a galaxy s9, and it updated sunday night. For some reason, my phone has started resending messages from june to random people. I have noticed it has only happened to people with new iphones, and they are messages from around the same time in June. Anyone else having this problem? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Dec 2019 09:11 AM PST Hi everyone, I'm new here, hoping this is the right place to post a tech question. I purchased a Samsung A70 from Fido (my carrier) in June 2019 and am having some bizarre problems with charging. Every couple of months the phone will stop charging for a couple days, and then resume charging fine 2 or 3 days later. This has happened 3 times now. The phone absolutely will not accept charge from any source. I have tried the usual fixes. Connecting the phone to other chargers does not help. Connecting other devices to the chargers I am using proved they do work. I have restarted, turned off and on again, booted into safe mood. Cleaned out the charging port with air dusting. I am at a loss, and am REALLY in need of solving this as it is currently not charging and I need it urgently. Thanks if anyone can provide any help at all. PS: I have tried contacting Samsung and Fido who I got it from and I'm stuck in endless redirect loops of service requests. [link] [comments] |
Bundle notifications in Android 9 user settings?? Posted: 10 Dec 2019 08:47 AM PST I am involved in 6+ Twitter group chats and 4+ active Discord servers. I've muted the chats/channels I don't care to see, but I still get a lot of notifications. Is there a native way to collapse or bundle all notifications from a single app in Android 9? So all my Twitter notifications would show up as one icon in the toolbar, instead of one per chat. Or is there a third-party app that can do this, and won't throw 50,000 unrelated notifications at me? Thanks. [Android 9 on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, fully up to date AFAICT] [link] [comments] |
Want to Limit Email notifications to only the morning Posted: 10 Dec 2019 08:16 AM PST Hello all, first time posting. I want to set my phone up to only send me Outlook notifications before 8:30am because it is only helpful when there is an update about the office, whether it is closed or my boss is calling out, etc... Is there any way to do this? I only see an option to turn them off completely. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
All my Google search widgets stopped being clickable and usable Posted: 10 Dec 2019 11:54 AM PST I have Android 9 (sec patch Oct 1 2019) and a Coolpad Legacy phone. None of Chrome's or Google's search bar widgets are clickable or usable anymore. They all used to work whether I tried Chrome, Chrome Beta, Google Go, or whatever is the default search widget. Is this happening to anyone else or just me? Can't find anything online about it. I used to use the default search widget but began using Chrome Beta's search widget bc that's all I use anymore as my search engine, which works just fine. All searches in the search apps work just fine. It truly is a pain to have to open the Chrome Beta or whatever app to run a search. I tried clearing cache, etc. It doesn't seem to be related to anything specific I can find on the internet. Is this a Google or Chrome thing or Android thing? Why can't I even click it to type in it any more? I can click the widget to resize it or move it or remove it. But since the apps work fine it seems weird all the search bar widgets stopped working at all at the same time sometime in November. [link] [comments] |
My oneplus 6 has imei numbers that belong to nokia 106. How do i find out about my real imei Posted: 10 Dec 2019 08:01 AM PST I bought the phone in used condition. *#06# on my op6 shows imei numbers that belong to nokia 106 when checked online. I can beleive that since people in my country change the imei numbers of expensive phone and replace them with imeis of cheap phone in order to pay lower taxes. How do i find out the real imei of my op6? [link] [comments] |
Dark theme option missing on some Google apps Posted: 10 Dec 2019 07:58 AM PST Dark theme was automatically enabled on Playstore, Google photos. There is no option to turn it off. After 12AM, play store changing to light theme. It's so disgusting, why in the hell they haven't gave the toggle button. While the toggle option was present in Google drive and Google Messages app. I haven't got the dark theme for the Gmail app. My device Xperia X dual. I am on Oreo. [link] [comments] |
Phone is on, but screen is black Posted: 10 Dec 2019 11:39 AM PST I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 mini. Out of no where, the screen's just gone totally black. The phone is clearly on--the notification light at the top is still on--but there's no other indicator that the phone is on that I can notice because, well, the screen is black. I've read that I should take out the battery, but that seems to be for if your phone is off. Should I try it anyways, or is there something else I can do? Thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Dec 2019 11:34 AM PST Hi! I recently purchased a Motorola One Zoom but after a couple of days I noticed a weird black mark on my screen. It's not visible at all if the brightness is turned up or the screen is showing either white or true black but on a dark (but not black) background it will get gradually more visible as the brightness gets lower. Here is a picture where you can clearly see the mark. This is taken with the brightness turned down a bit in a room with dimmed lighting. Has anyone see anything like this before and know what the cause is? I'm considering sending it back for a repair or replacement, but if they find nothing wrong or deem it to be my fault somehow I'll have to pay for it so I'm not sure if it's worth the risk. It is however very annoying. [link] [comments] |
Half of my screen stopped functioning Posted: 10 Dec 2019 11:18 AM PST I have an LG G5 that I'd like to hold onto for a while longer. Last night I was using the phone to browse through reddit (shocker) and the right half of the screen stopped scrolling. Confused, I swapped apps and it stayed stuck on half of a reddit feed. I rebooted the phone. From boot the right half of the screen is static and fully functional. My question is this a screen problem or a GPU problem? I don't know enough about the internals of phones to make that call and am hoping someone from the hive mind may have seen this before. The problem being active from boot implies it is not software. Unrelated to the problem I've purchased a battery for the phone, it has not been installed. I'm willing to purchase a screen, but if the problem is GPU related then I'm not going to sink any more money into this phone and will begin the struggle of finding a decent replacement. Posted: 10 Dec 2019 07:32 AM PST What's the best course of action to take an old Android tablet and get it on a more current Android version? Have a Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet running 4.4.2 and I want to try and get as close to 10 (Android Q). Google has dropped support for 4.4.2 and I would prefer to not have to buy a new tablet for my Home Automation stuff. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Dec 2019 11:08 AM PST Now that the year is coming to an end and all the 2019 smartphones are out, which phone would you recommend to an Iphone user changing to Android? All the reviews have me torn. The Pixel 4 XL seems awesome with stock Android and quick updates but the battery, screen brightness and price has me torn. The Note 10+ seems like a beast but slow updates and the mixed reviews on Samsung software has me torn. Was hoping if some of you experienced Android users could help me out. I have no idea how One UI and soon to be One UI 2 make up for slow uldates on Samsung. I've watched almost every video on YouTube comparing both phones. I've only owned Iphones, I don't game on my phone so that doesn't matter to me at all. Pretty much I'm a regular user. Social media, texting, phone calls, pictures (nothing professional) YouTube videos, internet stuff like that. Any feedback is much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Smartwatch: TizenOS vs. WearOS Posted: 09 Dec 2019 11:31 PM PST Good Day! I am looking for some Information regarding TizenOS and WearOS on different Smartwatches. Right now I favor the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 running TizenOS, my Phone is an OnePlus 7 Pro. The "Tests" you can find on the Internet do not appear to be very objective about the different watches, so I think you guys might be the very best source for unbiased opinions based on different experiences. Which Watch can you recommend running WearOS? Is there a better option than the Galaxy Watch Active 2? Why is TizenOS/WearOS better? Thank you very much in advance, I appreciate every opinion! Is there a way to change the camera app that opens up when I double press the power button? Posted: 09 Dec 2019 10:40 PM PST I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 8. I'm on Android 9 and Open UI 1.0 (although I use Microsoft Launcher). I'm using the stock ROM, not rooted and with no modifications. When I quickly double press the power button, it automatically opens up the stock Samsung camera. I prefer the Open Camera app over the stock camera. I'm trying to figure out how to change the camera that opens when I double press the power button, but I can't find a setting for it. If you go to the app settings for the stock at camera it says that no defaults are set. Does anybody know if it's possible to change this, without rooting or modifying the phone? Any information is much appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments] |
