[REQUEST] Paid or free games with depth and idle elements. Not necessarily idle/clicker

    Posted: 23 Mar 2022 02:42 AM PDT

    Single/Multiplayer:

    . any

    Genre:

    . clicker/incremental/idle, tycoon/sim/manager, RPG, MMORPG, text/2d/3d

    Online/Offline:

    . any

    Monetization/Cost:

    . $20 budget per game for full unlocks/ad free/boosts

    Portrait/Landscape:

    . any

    Key Features:

    . Gather, build, upgrade.

. Side goals: compete/compare/co-op features. Hoarding things. Player economies. Skill grinding.

The game I'm looking for would be something to play alongside my other idle games, ideally with 0 ads. Something I can progress for fun in and take a break from sweaty action games and thinky puzzles. So no diy factory builders, events to keep track of like Stardew Valley, or Terraria-sized projects

    Games I play right now

07 RuneScape/Melvor Idle -- not locked by any skill tree/point allocation. Gameplay is anywhere from active to 20 minutes+ per action

Egg, Inc -- just interesting enough. $10 one time boost, almost no ads, premium currency optional and easy to earn. Progress can actually be sped up by playing.

Kittens game -- number go up, ascend and go up again faster, BUT there's depth, and it's not a constant ascend & wipe. Paid once, feel like I have a full game.

Home quest -- pay to remove a progress limit, no premium currency

    Games I want to like

Leaf blower revolution -- active play is quickly pointless, you essentially just wait to ascend again.

Idle skilling -- Cluttered, senseless navigation. Ungodly amount of unlocks requiring premium currency. Progress can be entirely bought.

Shop Titan -- Not a grabby p2w, free is fun EXCEPT end game characters are paywalled behind like $60 which ruins the whole thing.

Day R/entire survival genre -- I just want fully extended storage without paying $40 a month for consumable backpacks and triple xp.

    Other Things I hate

Gacha. Auto clicker metas. Severe time gates. No option to pay once to claim ad boosts forever. Infinite auto battlers.

Me and my friend made this game, please rate "Tesla Wars"

    Posted: 23 Mar 2022 03:26 AM PDT

    Hello,

Recently my friend and I finished development of Tesla Wars. This game fits into the tower defense genre, and also has a number of differences that make it, in our opinion, more fun than the classic tower defense. It took us a little over a year to develop, but apart from development, it turned out to be not easy for us to put a game called Tesla on the App Store, since the Tesla trademark had already been occupied earlier, by mister you know who :) Apple refused to accept us several times, but then we filed an appeal and decision makers found no violations. Fortunately, with Google, such problems did not appear. Now we are in the app store and Google Play store and even got some great reviews. It would be great to get your opinion and perhaps some marketing advice.

Well, for those who find this story boring, in order to cheer you up a little, I can say that I am from Ukraine and while I am writing this text, a civil defense siren sounds outside the window and even sometimes explosions are heard in the distance. So that's how we are fearless IT people ;)

oh, I almost forgot, link to the game:GooglePlay

    Have a nice day, everyone!

Battlefield Mobile Early Access is here [India]

Can anyone confirm if you buy or download something from TapTap, you can still have the google play features such as cloud save and achievements?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2022 03:47 AM PDT

I noticed that TapTap detects any game installed in your system wether it's from google play or others. Example i already purchased and have Dead Cells from Google Play Store, but when i got to TapTap app, it reads that Dead Cells is already installed and purchased on the system.

The question is, if you buy or install free to play games from TapTap that has Google Play features, will it carry over the progression for both Google and TapTap?

looking for a dungeon/raid type dungeon crawler?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 08:13 PM PDT

I used to play Arcane Legends and Pocket Legends back in the day.

Looking for something similar. Not full on MMO but something I can dungeon crawl and build a character maybe join a clan/raid? Like a gear rng game with classes.

Not looking for anything too serious like Runescape. More of a casual mmo lol if that makes sense at all.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know!

    Game with no P2W BS?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 05:35 PM PDT

Honestly, I've tired of being the products of p2w games. All I want to do is enjoy some nice relaxing games but mobile games just loves to shove all of this nonsense down my throat, Currently, I'm playing Alien Isolation on my ipad but soon ill finish it. So need some recommendations. I already have GTA triology, Pascals Wager, Dead cells, Terraria, Alien Blackout and Minecraft.

    Android game?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2022 02:46 AM PDT

My memory is shit but this was... Maybe a year? Two years ago at most. Was this amazing game, you could counter. Parry, you started out with a sword and shield but got a two handed one pretty soon after the tutorial. Customization was amazing. (obviously it's a sword fighter) Combat was like 1v1 but per mission an enemy would hop in after you'd defeat one. The story was like- you died in a fire but then a god revived you??? God it sucks that I can remember but yeah. PLEASE help me. The best thing I can remember is the graphics are actually fucking astounding but no YouTube videos have ever covered it.

The second Island have.. metal rocks?

Its multiplayer but im not sure

Before you say " check playstore manage app", i lost that account years ago , so it wont work

Final Fantasy 5 and 6 Mobile (not pixel remasters)

    Posted: 23 Mar 2022 01:28 AM PDT

Can someone help me, I'm looking for the Mobile versions of FF5 and 6. Specifically not the pixel remasters as they don't have controller support. I know the Mobile versions were delisted but is there any way to get hold of them? Google brings up a lot of very sketchy sites when searching for the apks.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a pirate or anything, I just have an Android handheld and I need controller support.

    Thanks

    Posted: 23 Mar 2022 06:54 AM PDT

Hi, I'm looking for a couch gaming / coop game for android (or even ios at this point).

(Something built specifically for 2 players).

    Would you have any ideas?

Trying to remember old dungeon crawler.

    Posted: 23 Mar 2022 12:44 AM PDT

The 'main' screen was a town with various vendors and a noticeboard. The options were quite numerous and complicated. You could go through dungeons and fields, and team up with other players. There was also arena for pvp. Any recollection please?

Issues with "Cars Fast As Lightning"

I'm not sure which subreddit I should post this on but I think this is the closest,

Now cars fast as lightning got taken down years ago but I found an apk online (https://www.androidout.com/item/android-apps/583823/cars-fast-as-lightning/) which I installed and played on my pc via bluestacks.

But after you unlock some track parts the game tells you to go to the town.

Mine says it has to install additional content but it doesnt move the % downloaded.

How do I fix this, the game doesnt let me past this point and I can't do anything.

    Paid grinding games?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 06:41 PM PDT

Hey all, I really like slowly working towards character levels/abilities/gear by basically fighting endlessly. I don't mind the turn based fighting like Raid Shadow Legends or Summoner's War, but those games use stamina/energy which means you have to wait for more, or pay for more. I'm willing to pay a lot up front for a game, but I haven't been able to find a paid game that focuses on grinding and improvement. And I'm not looking for an RPG, just action of any kind.

    Installed apps are re-downloading?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 04:49 PM PDT

Dunno where else to ask... But installed apps like Civ 6 and others are re-downloading themselves even after I just played them... like a 4hr full download of the game again... ? I don't get it... don't have unlimited data and it's chewed up 12gb in two days screwing with my plan. Wtf is going on.

    Open World Survival Games ???

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 02:42 PM PDT

So as the title suggests, I'm looking for an open world Survival game. A close comparison would be LifeAfter. I quit because it become routine and time consuming. I'm wondering if there is anything around that is somewhat similar. I'm looking for a survival game where you can craft stuffs and play with friends or strangers and still slay enemies.

Is there anything out there like this?

"A good way to kill time"

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 09:25 AM PDT

It drives me nuts when I see a review that praises a game as "a good way to kill time". Games should make our lives better, not waste precious time that we'll never get back. I know that I'm susceptible to getting addicted to mobile games - I've lost countless hours joylessly grinding away at a game because it taps into my monkey brain that likes little dopamine hits. This was an effective way to kill time, sure, but it did not add anything of value to my life.

I'm still a gamer, and I think games have a lot they can contribute. But the measure of a good game shouldn't be how much of our life and attention they can steal. This is particularly true for mobile games, because so many of them are explicitly designed to be addictive. I try to ask myself how much joy a game gives me, and whether it feels like it is making my life better (in the same way that reading a good book or watching a good movie makes our lives better). I also try to be honest about my relationship with the game: am I playing it in a healthy way, or am I letting it consume too much of my time and energy?

Sorry if this post is too soapbox-y. It just drives me nuts seeing how game designers are incentivized to make games that are optimized to capture as much of our attention as possible, rather than making games that are purely focused on being fun. I'm learning to let go of games that make me feel like a lab rat, and instead focus on games that feel like an overall benefit to my life.

TL; DR: Life is short. Don't waste it on shitty games.

[request] Looking for a mostly idle game.

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 08:06 AM PDT

No so much an incremental game but more or something you might plan something out and then check back in. Something I can play at work that I look away a lot. maybe something I can take some time to plan out moves or something like that and check in and see how it went. Sorry for the rambling and hopefully I made some kind of sense.

Any good online asynchronous, cross-platform (Android+iOS) games? Bonus points if they're cooperative or not ultra competitive, and ideally not board games.

    Posted: 22 Mar 2022 06:36 AM PDT

I'm familiar with games like Words with Friends, Draw Together, Trivia Crack, Plato, Disc Driving, Polytopia, and Uniwar. A lot of those are fairly competitive, anway. Also, I'm a bit of a board game fanatic, so I have those covered, too (Ascension, Star Realms, Shards of Infinity, Race for the Galaxy, Ticket to Ride, among countless others). I agree that's probably the best genre... but what about something outside of that genre?

The game doesn't *have* to be asynchronous. Games like Hayday are okay suggestions since we an work together over time and play when we have time. Ideally it wouldn't be a largely idle game (Ulala, AFK Arena, etc) - but games like Minecraft aren't what I'm looking for as it's important that we're able to play when we have the time, and not necessarily at the same exact time.

I was eyeing Blight of the Immortals, but it appears as though there's no longer a native iOS client, and also it looks very slow, and reviews are a bit mixed. There used to be an iOS game that was like a turn-based co-op adventure games years back, but it's been gone for ages. I don't even remember the name of it.

Happy to hear any suggestions, though!
